Trump's crowd was slightly smaller than Bill Clinton's inauguration if the latest rough estimates turn out to be right. Shit's sad when you take population growth into account, but you have a point that republicans are a small minority in the northeast and D.C.
Also, people who show the gigapixel hoping to prove the aerial photo wrong are shooting themselves in the foot. Shit is veritably the crowd size during Trump's speech. You can clearly zoom and match up all the white spots and sparse crowds in the aerial photo with the low-angle they got by comparing each squared off barricaded area in both photos. It also gives you an idea of how the illusion of 'more people/less empty space' is created by depth perception on a 2D picture becomes more 'squashed' and harder to parse as the distance increases-- Just look at the last towers in the back row near the monument and compare it with the aerial picture. Shit looks like it's only a couple feet from the white building in front of the monument (a building that wasn't there in 2009 and was instead a jam-packed crowd of jigaboos according to aerial pictures).
