The moon is on an eccentric orbit so it doesn't orbit around the equator.

The "Blue marble" we know as our picture of Earth is photoshopped, anyone that has interest can easily find the creator of it talking about it on youtube. "It's photoshopped, because it has to be." They stitch together many images.
