gimme sauce and I'll give you a reason.

Nevermind. I found her. Bad feets, no go.

If they're a private business they should be allowed to do whatever the fuck they want. If they're utility status due to preferential government treatment and lack of competition, that's another matter.

I suppose you want to make child porn legal since CLEARLY ISPs shouldn't block child ABUSE????

FUcking pedo posters GTFO

>Poorfags are upset about Net Neutrality being repealed

Looks like you faggots will have to actually get a job instead of sitting in mommy's basement all day.

gubment already does that

>thinking money is the reason to be concerned about net neutrality
i bet youre a real winner

>Libertarian cucks at work here

there isnt because there's always proxies or so. In the case of Germany several pornsites like YouPorn are blocked out from google search index. Which leads People to go to less popular and insecure porn sites. Same problem in company networks who block the porn, people go to more shadier corners of the net when the obvious is kept out.

You wouldn't be allowed to post here anymore.

>net neutrality means you'll be "restricted" from accessing websites
Can't even do your homework first.

Because you wont have executives from Comcast in charge of creating and enforcing rules about what an ISP may or may not do.

throttling to the point of starvation
what? yes you would actually.

>I literally don't understand free market
pathetic!

literally this

Sad!

Another way for the jew to get your shekels.

>whats that goyem? You want to download large files? Well then you need the downloader premium deluxe package, only an extra 39.95$ per month.

>Le Comcast meme

I never understood this.

Is this coming from people who live in the shittiest parts of the country where Comcast service constantly goes out or something?

I can't be the only person that's never had an issue with them.

Is this some forced meme because they wanted to merge with Time Warner?

I really don't get it.

Someone please redpill. No phoney balloney

If you own comcast stock, it will go up.

fuck off kike shills

good goyim

open the lines to anyone, and let competition bring up quality and bring down price.

No monopolies on essential services

Give me one reason why an ISP shouldn't be allowed to decide what websites you can visit. A cable company gets to decide what TV channels you get, or at least makes you pay extra for certain channels.

No it's not you shill

OP is framing the question in such a way that it's designed to create a thread full of supporters for eliminating net neutrality

>Sup Forums doesn't want net neutrality repealed
>Sup Forums loves Trump
>tfw

>natural monopoly
>free market
>pick one

sauce on girl plox

Governments already block thousands other sites without publicly announcing it (becuase it would affectively advertise those sites)

Nobodies taking your Minecraft forums away kid, relax.

This idea is fine in the mystical and fabricated land of an open competitive market. Starting an ISP is extremely difficult and the big players crush competition with legal tactics.

Fuck off you retarded shill

> ISP to restrict its users from certain websites

This is what leftists actually believe lulz

QoS != Censorship. Pick up a fucking book retard.

Even in your hypothetical scenario you're making Hillary out to be the villain. It's Trump's cabinet that is gonna kill NN not Hillary's. You poor faggots are so stupid it's hilarious. You literally do whatever Fox News tells you to.

the lines are open to anyone anyway

MacDonald's wifi already blocks Sup Forums

The point went right over your fat head.

>Give me one reason why an ISP shouldn't be allowed to decide what websites you can visit.
It's the same as ATT banning you from calling your friend. Think of IP Addresses as telephone numbers. You connecting to a website is basically the same as making a phone call to that website, except you get data instead of a voice call.

So are you ok with ATT banning you from calling certain people? Your argument says yes.

What? Besides the principle that it harms the economy and is behavior that should trigger an anti-trust lawsuit?

Because it's not a free market. Most regions only have one major ISP. Attempts to break into these markets are met with captive regulation from legislators who have been bought and sold by cable companies. They made sure to kill off local ISPs when towns started to pool together and make their own internet company and they made sure the states threw all sorts of regulation in Google's way when they wanted to lay fiber.

It's not really unprecedented; we regulated the hell out of Ma Bell and that worked out fine. We should arguably go further with phones, since we're three short of perfect competition.

Idk lol. Do any isps do that in the U.S?

right click > reverse image search

Amber Lynn

not with the net neutrality act
which is set to be repealed soon

like if those websites host child abuse or crazy like dogfight streaming or shit like that and the servers are not where the feds can get at them?

Sup Forums went from being a free thinking board to getting caught up in group think and coerced by Trump shills

I agree with Sup Forums on most thinks especially relating to niggers and Jews but Sup Forums has started to turn into baby boomer neocons favorite good goys.

completley. now pol even seems to support the death of the neutral net act? wtf

Trump supporters are fools thinking NN would be protected. Now watch isp's drop access to Sup Forums. Idiot Trump voters voting against their own interests Again!

Or you could just use a VPN or bridges and not have a problem with any ISP

watch it with that anti Trump shit. This is about saving the NN, not inciting an argument.

I wonder if Hiro will give us another special badge when we pay for the NEET package.

give me one reason you're entitled to anything else

ISPs agree to regulation in lieu of competition.

Non-retards realize that this Orwellian double speak "net neutrality" is an artificial barrier to entry. The underlying problem is the government has created artificial monopolies. You can't fix it by pilling on more regulations.

>underage girl
MOOOOOOOOODS

Here in straya, the govt. is already forcing ISP's to block torrenting websites.
(they've only blocked like 4 of them so far)
This is what happens when i go to the pirate bay without a proxy/vpn (pic related)
I'm sorry, but doing this is completely useless, anyone smart enough to "pirate" is smart enough to get around these shitty blocks.

Go to the catalog and look at how many NN threads have popped up

Literal shills

And a lot of good goy newfags here who buy into it. Nowhere is safe on the internet anymore for the free open exchange of ideas without ulterior political influence. Probably the only place that's safe anymore are pedo forums on the deep web, ironically enough.

It's not an artifical monopoly - it's cost prohibitive to go and rewire every building and offer your services. It simply can't be done by anyone other than a huge conglomerate that would have to operate in the red for a very long time.

There's only so much space on a telephone pole too. That was one of the reasons why Google Fiber failed.

on the one hand the gigantic number of technologies, standards, protocols and inventions composing the internet were built by people to be fundamentally free and open and use by all people (im talking web standards not like DRM or something delivered using the internet)

on the other hand hardware is not cheap and laying fiber is expensive.

so until we are running our own anarchist internet........ yeah

Businesses can operate as they please. There should just be more ISPs.

Except those are honeypots. Deepweb is dead for the most part.

stop posting photos of my wife please.

there should be more companies building infrastructure not more ISPs big difference since nesting one doll inside the other doesnt make the dolls faster is just give you more dolls

>all these retards pretending like an ISP that starts to limit anything will survive

nice yuropoors logic

To be fair the australian government is populated with old retards who are way out of touch with the current times. Old fucks just wont die

that ass slap was epic

>It's not an artifical monopoly - it's cost prohibitive to go and rewire every building and offer your services
Cost isn't what has prevented competition. stop talking about subjects you don't understand. Take a look at AT&T. They began has an artificial, government-enforced monopoly, and they openly brag about it. For years only AT&T was allowed to provide those services.
corp.att.com/history/history3.html

>There's only so much space on a telephone pole too. That was one of the reasons why Google Fiber failed.

So, in other words, forced monopolies? You clearly put zero thought into that post.

Saved me the trouble.

>government-enforced monopoly
You're trying to talk down to me about why government regulation is bad, and you cite Ma Bell?

That's hardly the same thing.

>implying there are more than a dozen ISPs in the entire United States what wouldn't work together to block shit or make it subscription based for more shekels

ISPs are one of the kikiest things.

Because whoever controls the flow of information controls the people. It's a great idea if you want your ISP along with the state to dictate correct information and thoughts

Brilliant!

The whole point of doing that is to charge for access to certain (groups of) websites.
Think about it as your TV cable channel packages but with webpages or services instead of TV channels.
Of course, the whole idea of doing that is beyond normal ((greed)), since it fucks up the internet we know today.

same people who want to download 100TB a month are often the same ones who want 5ms to their game servers with no jitter so i mean really that's like a $3-4 business fiber plan and home users feel ripped off paying $200 for whatever they get give me a break

3-4k dollars rather... obviously

but op was talking about restricting access to sites, not bandwidth.

Gotta correct the record somehow

Ending Net neutrality will kill innovation because fiber is unprofitable compared to copper and existing phone lines. The only way ISPs can compete right now under NN is bandwidth wars which forces innovation. You can see this is true because since Netflix has come out bandwidth has quadrupled and the average minimum is 8mbd/D (speed required for netflix hd and skype).

If you take away NN ISPs have no reason to roll out fiber and will compete by smoke and mirrors, i.e. charging you for faster sites for less than the competitor rather than higher bandwidth.

sorry i kept seeing the words net neutrality and it triggered my autism and awe of people's expectations

thats not really true since users will always want more pipe and whoever will offer it is where people will put their money

all ending it means is giving isps the right to manage traffic in their network. if anything else it might actually mean more infrastructure since 2nd and 3rd tier ISPs will be getting their shit pushed in

There is no good reason

Worked for a large ISP for years and they just look to rip you off left and right. Trump electing Ajit Pai is just a thank you to large ISP's like TW and Comcast. He's basically looking to tear apart the net neutrality act.

RIP Sup Forums

the fact that users will always pipe more is the thing that drives innovation.
if you let netflix have more bandwidth than other sites then they will slack on the development of more efficient bandwidth.
not only that but then other sites will suffer and they are probably more important then gay netflix.

Yeah, this sucks

I hope Trump puts a federal ban on CNN's site.

Lets fucking do something. We have he power right here!

Don't you all fucking remember Obama giving the internet to the UN?

The best part is, these people actively support the destruction of the only medium within which they have a smidgen of ability to influence the wider world

all because their (((agent orange))) pandered to them via memes

and they still think they're somehow disrupting the establishment

Idk user companies would still have an incentive to provide faster connections and better services to get more customers. Besides corporate interests are no where near as worrying as political interests.

I dont think you understand NN. The government doesnt censor the internet, it just stops ISP's from censoring.
also
>implying corporate interests arent political interests

Sadly it is obvious there will always be bootlicking retards who will welcome their own demise and drag the rest of us down with them

This thread is evidence of that

This thread is intended to try and save NN.
you have to try
Taking away NN is literally giving the internet to ISPs.

It's just you. Comcast is godawful and universally hated - it frequently tops "Worst companies in the US" lists and I don't think I've ever gone a full six months without a major issue from them.

ISPs in general are absolute dogshit in the US, and end up not bothering to change because they hold almost complete monopolies on their regions. Ripping up net neutrality without addressing the mess that is the FCC's regulations on new ISPs will just cement this further and make it a thousand times worse for the average person.

Oh cool napster would come back?

But what happens when you have a government who abuses that framework to push their own agenda? I say leave it as it is already. It's not exactly broken so why fix it?

>This thread is intended to try and save NN.

Maybe next time don't frame the question in your original post in such a retarded manner. The way you have framed the question will only draw supporters of NN who want to argue for the sake of argument rather than rallying people together to shit on it.

kys

literally this

help me or fuck off

I did help you. I just pointed out to you how you framed your question in an idiotic manner which would only draw supporters who are against NN.

Now you know for the next time you post.

FUCKING THIS
