Why are libshits now taking this novel seriously?

Because it makes them feel intelligent to have it on their bookshelf.

>read a book after you think the facist has risen

Boy I'm sure that'll do a lotta good.

>Honey go to the store and get a first aid manual
>why?
>I've been stabbed and am bleeding to death.

>looked at abyss
>became abyss
>libs disagree because trump
>faggot disagrees because libs
>forgets libs fail
>tactic will be weaponised against them
>libs fail
you would do wise to consider huxley and orwell prophets
copypastepic related

They are the largest practitioners of double think so why not.
>Freedom of speech shouldnt be anything I disagree with or hurts muh feelings
>buh buh Trump is big brother trying to take away our freedom including speech

Because le Drumpf is an ebil dictator and muh alternative facts
*sips tea*

They realized they need to get redpilled.

I wonder if those faggots realise that 1984 is meant to be a communist dysopia, something so called liberals are actively trying to force on all of us?

Animal farm was a better book anyway

Because libshits lack self-awareness to a hilarious degree.

I hope that reading 1984 will redpill them on """fake-news"""

Little do they know they already live in a 1984 world. Thanks NSA.

this, yet they think it is about ebil Big Trump

We're seeing a fusion of both visions in reality

Because Apple made a commercial inspired by the 1984 movie back in the day. And I've never met a liberal that wouldn't suck off their MacBook if it had a cock.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_(advertisement)

>blindly follow CNN and other propaganda
>read this thinking le ebil drumpf will manipulate them

oh the ironing. Hope they get redpilled

first post best post

Trump is basically the antithesis of what is portrayed in that book. Liberals have become so devoid of any form of critical thinking that they are completely oblivious to the fact they themselves are the followers of big brother. I'm not sure if its funny or concerning.

1984 IS ABOUT A LEFTIST REGIME
>1984 IS ABOUT A LEFTIST REGIME
1984 IS ABOUT A LEFTIST REGIME
>1984 IS ABOUT A LEFTIST REGIME
1984 IS ABOUT A LEFTIST REGIME
>1984 IS ABOUT A LEFTIST REGIME

Fuck 1984, it's an overrated book, and it seems more likely in a communist state than America

Brave new world was the book that ended up a reality, I mean when the NSA info came out, no one really cared because they were too wrapped up in their computers and phones and shit.

>reading a book to affirm your point of view, rather than to get new ideas

For what purpose? When they have debates about evolution versus Christianity, say, I don't watch Bill Nye circlejerk for an hour about all the proof for evolution, because I already agree with him. I pay attention to the christian, because I want to see his argument. Yeesh.

Anyway, 1984 is public domain right? Anyone can publish their own version? I have an idea on how to bilk money out of liberals...

They didn't intend to hand over the surveillance state they themselves created to someone like Trump.

It's written by a leftist

projection

Also to call 1984 anything but a masterpiece is wrong. It is a great novel, it's message is still relevant to this day.

Of course it won't. These people take everything at face value and never try and only see a deeper meaning behind something when someone tells them what it is. They'll go into the book looking through the lens of "how can I compare this to Drumpf!" instead of how it's consistently reflected the times since it was written.

Okay, but the book is about a leftist regime.

Orwell said Aldous probably was closer to the truth
NSA info was censored from public to begin with
when it came out no one cared

so a combination of the two seems reality

>buys book
>reads two pages
>puts on shelf
>HURR DURR WAKE UP SHEEPLE I'M SO MUCH SMARTER THEN YOU
Who would of guessed huh?

It was written in 1948, lefties weren't commies back then

Trump isn't BB, Trump is (((Goldstein))).

Well, if you look at the 2012 propaganda repeal, and trying to put all media under FCC control with intelligence community oversight now, I'd say they've been taking it seriously for awhile now. They're just pro Big Brother.

basically this.

Their problem is ideological lensing.

They are literally trained to see whatever they want to see in whatever they are looking at.

That's why everything, up to and including toothpaste, is racist.

that guy fougth with these deluded commie swines in the spanish civil war, he was so shocked by their stupidety that he decided to write that book to warn the rest of the world about these euro-commie niggers

Weren't lefties literally commies back then??

The greatest part is it's the MSM making a push for people to read 1984 and they don't understand the grand irony of it all.

>Fuck 1984, it's an overrated book,

This. It gained a lot of traction in the last few decades because if you really stretch the imagination, there are a few similarities here and there between the book's settings and modern civilization in different parts of the world.

Orwell wrote it in 1949, not 1849. A lot of the ideas in 1984 had already been experimented with in society at that point. It wasn't that creative or revolutionary.

Basically, it is popular because for stupid people that don't know recent history, it sounds like Orwell dreamed up this setting before the controversial aspects of it had been discussed elsewhere. That's is not the case. It is not popular on because it's a good book.

>This just in, people are buying up record numbers of copies of 1984.
>Up next, a 2 minute segment on why you should hate Donald Trump

ARE OYU KIDDING ME???!!!!!!
BECAUSE DRUMPBFFF IS LITUREALLY HITLER

Libtards don't realize that 1984 is about their Communist paradise who take censorship and make Germany and China look like kids

We took this book plus Brave New World as warning from kikes going too far

Libtards just use this book as virtue signalling seeing how this book makes them smart while being blind to their beliefs

I loved reading the book when I attended BYU. Here's the thing, though. BYU IS a totalitarian place where people spy on one another, and we're all taught to worship a prophet dude who will give us blessings if we pay him 10% of our money the rest of our lives.

Does Trump make similar claims?

Exactly, if they really read it and understand it, we win more. Really loved Animal Farm as well.

>didn't care about Obama creating a surveillance state, endorsing doublespeak, and signing the NDAA
>suddenly we're now in an 'orwellian society' because Conway made a faux pas in phrasing

I know liberals are dumb but this is too much

Literally only because things aren't going their way.

1984 is a mandatory read for high-school seniors in my school district. Are there really that many normies that have never even touched it?

Not taking A Brave New World more serious

>Literally race mixing with natives
>Forced sexualization of children
>Drug "holidays"

Not really, right after WWII ended no one wanted an opinion too extreme, because if they were too far left they'd be a commie and if they were too far right they'd be "LITTERALLY HILTER" (aka the guy America just fought)

Most people back then were just left or right leaning

They want a Brave New World, but the real question is why are they buying it, isn't it almost 100 years old in the public domain, so it can be easily downloaded?

You're implying that most just didn't ask their classes' bookworm to summarize it or just go on the web to read a quick summary about said book.

I fucking hate it when people who talk about 1984 HAVE CLEARLY NEVER READ 1984

There are 3 social castes in Oceania, the proles, the outer party and the inner party.

The proles are hte blue-collar workers, they make up about 80% of the population according to the book, they are kept poor and docile, there exist whole ministries responsible for providing them with distractions like alcohol and pornography. They're not kept under surveillance by the Party except under special circumstances where select individuals start acting up. They're apolitical, they don't care about what's going on and the higher ranks consider them to be animals. EVERYTHING described in Brave New World applies to the proles in 1984.

The middle class is the outer party, they're the civil servants and the middle managers, they're educated enough to do white-collar work, they're important enough to the state to not be corrupted by degeneracy like porn and shitty alcohol. Instead, they're kept in line with propaganda and surveillance, instead of being distracted with early pleasures they're expected to be fiercely loyal to the party.

Huxley wasn't "more right", Orwell's book entirely encapsulates BNW.

The sad thing is we've been comparing them to 1984 for YEARS.

(((BIG SISTEURRRRRRRRRR)))

To add PC is the textbook definition of doublethink and the violations are similar to thought crime
Obama continued the Patriot Act made by Bush and nobody bats an eye
If Trump would anyone in 1984 he would be ((Goldstein))
He's the persona of everything the libtards hate

He was a democratic-socialist with anarchist sympathies

But all Anita is doing is HAVING AN OPINION! You fishers don't get it. She's, like, a critic! She doesn't want to dictate what anyone does?

Jeez, Anons. Snowflake much?

I wish the normies would hurry up and catch on to Brave New World already.

When Australia stops shitposting you know shits gotta be serious

>If Trump would anyone in 1984 he would be ((Goldstein))
Exactly. I hope they do realize it.

It's 100% a fusion of the two. You do literally have propaganda broadcast into your home, and but you voluntarily turn it on because there's so much media to tune into that it's too difficult to dig through the piles to find what actually resonates with you and so you just turn on one of the big three because they have a pseudo-monopoly on the market.

"Approved" music is basically Top 40s and pop hits, and everyone pops soma so they can go listen and dance to it together.

By the way, we are at war with Russia. We've always been at war with Russia. And we're totally okay with that because it's largely the engineered underclass of humans that are sent to fight and die on the front lines. (Now that one has a lot more flexibility because a lot of true patriots do want to protect their country, however it's not JUST a meme that groups of people who are bred into and kept in destitute poverty are also told to just go join the army and suck on that sweet government welfare teet.)

>did read them
>edgy teenage years
>possibly clouded judgement
you make a good point
i stand corrected

Right people should read them back to back. I also recommend Animal Farm and Lord of The Flies, not all back to back, because that'll overload them. Got all 4 at Walmart for like 35$ in paperback.

I'm not complaining. I think it's a great thing that they're starting to think on their own.
What's going to be even better is the slow redpill.
1984 describes the DNC very well, and is very hit and miss with the RNC.

projection

Donkeys live a long time.

>animal farm
Every time I see libshits screaming "shame shame shame", all I hear is "four legs good, two legs bad"

I'm 70% through the book and I don't see the dystopia part, desu.

INGSOC means literally english socialists.

If libtards would take this book seriously they would off them selfes by the thousands.

Fahrenheit
451
5

lmao....Me too,I always say 'Ok Mr O’Brien' in mine.

because it's an instruction manual for them

They actually gonna get red pilled from that one. That book is about them, not Trump.

They're just taking doublethink to a new level.

>If libtards would take this book seriously
If you took the book seriously you'd know that labels like socialist are used as tools by elites to dictate the behaviour of the citizenry, and that the only character (((Goldstein))) that has authentically socialist behaviours and is Orwell's democratic-socialist insert is the most notorious outlaw who is the central focus of hate directed by the """socialist""" INGSOC party.

Was Goldstein a random name pick, or did Orwell try to tell us something?

>implying this isn't how real life "socialism" attempts go

This

Good book but a bit short. I was expecting something more exciting then just fleeing the city and becoming a vagrant.

His wife was a cunt.

Internet censorship/"fake news" is the book-burning of modern day.

The only way he could have been more obvious is picking the name Shlomo Shekelberg

Of course it is, that was Orwell's point

Beggars Ride?

Goldstein was a leader of the revolution. Many commies were jews. That's that. Also something about anti-semitism.

Then why are you objecting to Hans' observation that socialist shills aren't learning the intended lesson?

>labels like socialist are used as tools by elites to dictate the behaviour of the citizenry
And you are telling me that the anti-government libtards wouldnt kill themselves at the thought that all the time they have been misled by the government to give power to the elites they hate so much?

That's implying they'll even understand what the book is about.

They're starting to see the error of their ways. We will see the left take a big swing into common sense very soon.

Because they don't know that an over-exaggerated fear of Orwellian government will lead them directly to a brave new world.

Propaganda by Edward Bernays is more important than 1984 and Brave New World.

Comparing our current state of affairs to 1984 is akin to simply disregard Trump as Hitler

>"Trump is just like Hitler"
>"This is literally turning into 1984 dude"

The whole setting is a eugenics experiment where they breed an underclass to be slaves while you get high and go watch the Feelies every time your feelies get hurt by bad thoughts.

For reference, YOU would be that slave underclass in such a situation, and if you really were there, watching all the rich people go around enjoying themselves and getting free sex while you're made in a laboratory: you'd absolutely consider being subject to such a situation as epitomizing "dystopian."

Nice trips, and fuck my reading comprehension, I thought this was a socialism = totalitarianism thread.

Goldstein was inspired by Trotsky, who's real surname was Bronstein.

>I thought this was a socialism = totalitarianism thread
>implying it isn't one

>fuck my reading comprehension

this is what ultimate authoritarianism looks like
stop promoting authoritarianism because under it you would never have a website like this one

>the left take a big swing into common sense very soon
I hope so, but there seems to be a hardening of the lefts position in my area and their jargon is becoming even more homogenized. I fear they're pretty far gone.

Is it really that bad considering even epsilons are happier than your average 4chinner?

Goldstein is controlled opposition.

Animal Farm..."Benjamin's famous remark; "Donkeys live a long time. None of you has ever seen a dead donkey" seems out of place as an opinion (quote 2,5) but simply tells us that major events, even revolutions, have little effect in the long run.".....I always took it as a Ive seen this before, nothing new under the sun.

>stop promoting authoritarianism because under it you would never have a website like this one
>implying Sup Forums is trying to censor the internet, and not the left
The doublethink is surreal.

BB was Stalin.
Goldstein was obviously Trotsky. The one that shouldve opposed Stalin, but never did really.

socialism/capitalism is entirely seperate

the evils of 1984 deal exclusively in absolute despotical autgoritarianism
