Is it worth getting? I have played civ 5 and own every DLC for that game, but i really wanna play civ 6. Besides the cartoonish disgusting look, is the game good? Is it worth actually getting?
Civilization 6
It's trash in its current state.
Like, the AI shit? Various functions not in game yet, forcing you to buy DLC?
It has problems, but people exaggerate them some of the time. Wait for a sale/pricedrop or something to change though, probably not worth the current price tag.
its terrible, don't, at least for its price.
How often does it go on sale? I'm a cunt when it comes to waiting lol
Go to /virgin
Numerous game-breaking bugs; I've had an issue where if two enemy spies complete a mission against you at the same time, your economy basically reverts into a deficit until your empire collapses.
The world generation is awful regardless of map type, it always comes out very similar to the previous map and is awful for naval players (me).
Rampant DLC already for individual civilizations.
AI is retarded and always backstabs you out of the blue.
DX12 is nice, but the game feels so flat and broken right now. If it's anything like Civ 5, it will be great when it has finally been expanded upon.
You always wait until the final dlc is released and steam puts it all on sale for $10
The AI is kind of dumb, and AI empires have "agendas" that, if you go against, they'll hate you. For example, an empire might have an "agenda" that demands you not talk to city states, so if you want them to like you, you better never interact with city states.
Like Civ V, it needs a couple years worth of DLC to be enjoyable
glad I pirated it, played it for a few hours and deleted it straight away.
...
I added it here because it has to do with civilizations, and this board mouth waters over that, Pablo
Virgins stay in
Buy EU4 everything else is shit tier
it's ok.
I absolutely cannot stand that "future tech" was replaced with "globalism" though.
the quotes are also hipster and gay
>eu4
>buy
>not shit tier
wew lad.
Districts are the single good new idea in this game. Everything other change is trash and has been simplified for no good reason.
>removing roads as a unique mechanic
What were they thinking? Getting roads up without ruining your economy was an important part of city planning and placement.
I have EU4. I have this thing where, if I don't have all the DLC, I feel like I'm not living up to the games full potential, but all of EU4's DLC together would cost me like 4 thousand dollars, so I don't play much. I do enjoy hearts of iron 4, but that game gets boring fast
Just play Civ5 or any of those older spin offs (call to power, test of time, alpha centauri).
Wait for 2020. Civ6 will be "finished". Ultimate pack with all dlc on sale for $30. Bunch of horseshit map packs and extra civs included.
eu4 is also shit in it's current form
the institution spread in the new world is insane
That's the only 'major thing in civ 5 I hate, the quotes feel so outta place and retarded at times
>not knowing how to pirate the dlc
wew lad. i have the base game and all of the without actually buying the dlc. here is a tip. the dlc works the same way as the dlc for skyrim.
but china and india are superpowerss . they used to be top of the world and its unfair that they get shit technology. PLEASE FIX THIS PARADOX.
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A GAME CALLED EUROPE UNIVERSALIS PRODUCES MOST OF ITS CONTENT FOR EUROPE.
pic related.
paradox only listens to that type of retards and because of it they keep on releasing shit tier updates.
Piece of shit compared to CIV5
Mexico is right
They Jewed us with a scenario pack taking up at least one DLC slot. Wait to see if it ends up riddled with DLCs without new Civs before buying like I did.
This was the last time I ever buy vidya at launch.

Lol buthurt coreans make me smile
Stellaris is /ourgame/
Thats kind of realistic though. Think of Cold War Blocs as an example. The thing I would hate in Civ V, and the only bad thing about it, was how schizophrenic the leaders were. For example, i had a major boner for Theodora, and would spend centuries defending her, tiving her renewable lopsided trades, even giving her whole cities for nothing in return, and I would base my whole diplomacy on her various idiotic machinations. Then, after 1500 years of friendship and all, shed randomly denounce me for declaring war on someone she told me to declare war on. Theodoras pussy game was so good, but she was cray-cray
But goym! We have to make 400 DLC's thats overpriced as shit and doesn't provide much! How else do you expect to pay our employees?
Not at full price. Almost no triple-A title is worth paying full price for anymore - not with all the bugs that haven't been worked out, all the server issues that weren't addressed in beta, and all the intentionally removed content that will get added on later as paid DLC.
Super Awesome Game 2017 will still be there a year from now, except it'll be $30 instead of $60.
One second they denounce you, and next they ask for 400 gold to help them fund their military to kill you. The AI is the worst I've ever seen in a game as popular as Civ.
>stellaris
>ourgame
of course its a fucking leaf.
civ 6 could have looked like this and instead we got a big piece of shit.
You have posted alot in this thread, Pablo. I'm impressed
lol
What does it look like? I play Civ4 sometimes and it's pretty fun but I never get too deep into it.
only once they start dev on the linux/steamos port.
Europa is leagues better anyways
...
looks like an alternate reality where they just improved and graphically updated Civ 4. damn do i miss the mods and complexity that Civ 4 offered.
even with all the DLC, and mods, Civ 5 is completely unfulfilled because it lacks actual civilization and government traits, and has no meter for revolution, and therefore creation of new nations.
from what i hear Civ 6 is the moronic kid brother of Civ 5 rn. maybe it'll be alright in like 2 or 3 years i guess.
It's garbage right now, but so was Civ 5 when it was this recent. Expansions and fixes turned that game from a mule into one of the better turn-based strategy games of all time.
Hold off for now, wait for the studio to get their shit together and fix this thing. They've done it before.
just pirate it for the time being
Played a game a few month ago, the AI never made any units better than warriors except for rome since he has special units. I was very disappointed with the game. I hope they fixed that.
yeah we will have to see. but right now they are just spamming shitty individual country dlc so i dont know anymore.
What's this? The unit models (at least the vehicles to the left) are from Rise of Nations, but the rest of it is not.
Forgot to link:
>buying a Civ after III
why
concept render for rise of nations 2. they gutted that project so they could make the shitty civ 6. they could have used the working engine that you see there and make a good civ 6 and instead they went full retard and made carton 6
>not immediately annexing Byzantium and making Theodora your concubine/queen for the whole game
>buying games
kek
>steal everything
>wonder why your country is poor
>green texting and typing kek on fourchan
Muh graffix
i really doubt they'll make it into a good game. the style that they've veered into shouts their intent to appeal to casual gamers, who have very little interest in turn based strategy games anyway.
it's sad that all these companies that have based their products around minority populations are suddenly trying to appeal to a casual population. the success of both Civilization and Paradox games rests solely on a crowd that loves history, challenge, and complexity.
i've lost most hope for these kinds of games i guess. they seem to be going extinct the same way in depth puzzle games went extinct. at least Europa Universalis 4 can be modded to be a complex and engaging game, either through a variety of mods or with just the extremely autistic MEIOU & Taxes mod.
Civ 4 wasn't even that complicated, all these games need is a good base to add complicated mods, and an open arm policy towards modders, both of which seem to be harder and harder to find.
>implying Sup Forums is a good place to discuss vidya
