TRUMP MEETS WITH THE FOLKS
If we're being honest with ourselves regarding the wall, deep down we all know it's a dumb idea. Why?
First, the only country who will truly benefit, long term, from the wall is Mexico. Mexican govt has very little control of their American border, and a wall would severely cripple the cartels who have their money and power through human and drug trafficking. A weakening of the cartels would immediately improve Mexico and allow the govt to regain some control which would improve their economy.
Second, by indirectly forcing Mexico to pay for it with a flat, 20% tax, all that actually means is that us Americans are still indirectly paying for it.
And finally, with the cost of the wall I'd much rather spend a fraction to massively increase border control and have a stricter deporting policy for criminals. Pressure the fuck out of Mexico (and offer assistance) to truly take on the Cartels. Improving the shitty life of Mexicans is an easy way from keeping them invading us. I mean I wouldn't wanna be impoverished or get beheaded either, I'd take my chances mowing yards in America.
