Breaking the 10 commandments for war

Is it okay to kill in times of war? Or have we just been brainwashed to believe it so that we will aid in the devils deeds?

Sup Forums is the only board i can think to post this. christians are a minority anymore and i doubt they lurk anywhere else.

yes.

remember when the saracen attacked christendom.

DEUS VULT

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

The ten commandments are law and overridden by the fruits of the spirit.

ok, but how do we know FOR SURE that a war we are fighting is just?

also does the bible state anywhere that we can kill in wars that are just?

The 10 Commandments only apply to Jews. They are made by Jews for Jews. Thou shalt not kill means do not kill your fellow Jew. Every rabbi has admitted this for literally 3000 years.

ultimately it's about a change in culture
if we can all follow these "rules" we all win

because peace is supposedly what all people want
therefor spreading the word is the most important thing

basically it's the non-aggression principle

>war
depends on how you understand christianity. if you listen to the interpretation of a church, you would get that, if you listen to a monarch, you will get that, if you listen to another form of government, you will get that

ultimately it's a grave sin, and you will be judged in the afterlife, so will the people who kill you if you chose not to kill them "in war"

should be noted you can still defend yourself and others (tasers etc etc) and maybe even do like the east romans and hire people to do the killing for you

Im no christfag expert, but there's a whole shitload of war sanctioned by god in the bible. And I'm pretty sure it's thou shall not murder, not kill.

>ok, but how do we know FOR SURE that a war we are fighting is just?
How do you know anything is just to begin with?

Those are not the commandments that are in the stone tablets.

It's though shall not murder.

meh

That god has no power here. The god that controls this place was thought dead by the old one but now has more influence in the real world than him, for the god we worship is kek the lord of the darkness.

YES. murder is different from killing. The bible, and jesus himself calls for followers to defend our brothers, and to not take revenge for our OWN sake. It is implied that conflict is necessary if an attacker is persistent in his attacks. To defend another is to prevent further loss of life, thereby attacking the attacker. if the cessation of violence is in your hands, you are obligated to make it so. If the enemy is relentless, their death is inevitable.

>between two parties, if one party does not fight and the other does
>the party that fights must be stopped
>if the party that stops the fighting does not wish to fight
>the violence will end when the aggressor is dealt with

It is okay, and necessary to kill if the cause is just. Are you family members in danger? Kill the enemy. Are you friends in danger? Kill the enemy. Is your nation in danger from a true threat? Kill the enemy.

Thats the way the world works. And if the victim is innocent the cause is just. Kill the enemy.

OP, kill them all. Be the hero we need. Many will follow. We are constantly in danger.

Always kill the bad guy.

Technically the commandment is to not murder. It's a little different or we would never even have food.

What good would push you to kill?

Thereby violating the first law

The spirit acts acording to the law, and thereby the law does not apply to spirit

You're fucking retarded, the English translation just sucks.
It says you shall not MURDER not you shall not kill, which was a pretty different thing back then.

As a Christian you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you, therefore you will not be a slave to the law either, instead living by the one commandment given by Our Father:

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Basicly this
>treat someone else like you want to be treaded by someone else

Dude it's loving one another just as Christ loves you lol.

can anyone of you explain

^ that video?

The bible is pretty clear on the difference between killing and murder, you illiterate atheist c u c k.

Killing in war is encouraged. Especially against those who threaten the innocent.
Like a certain Islamic State of Iraq and Syria keeps doing.

already did lol, ten commandments only matter if you're a Jew.

you cant show a man how to love if he wants you and your brothers to be dead. Kill that bad man, and then show those that would see how to love How to love indeed.
The bible says not to throw pearls at pigs. There are those that will learn, and those that simply hate and kill. Spare the pupil, but kill the teacher. The children can always be saved, but those that teach death will never learn.

Killing here is actually the Hebrew word for murder, and doesn't include state sanctioned killing.

You should read City of God by St. Augustine.

>They who have waged war in obedience to the divine command, or in conformity with His laws, have represented in their persons the public justice or the wisdom of government, and in this capacity have put to death wicked men; such persons have by no means violated the commandment, 'Thou shalt not kill.'

even the most wicked of men can have their hearts turned to the lord through love, indeed their reign of terror will need to be stopped first and to do so, possibly lethal action would need to be taken.

It's really "Thou shalt not murder", not "Thou shalt not kill".

So, you're fine.

All are able to be redeemed, but the many that should be victim to the wicked is the righteous' duty to protect. How many should suffer before the wicked are put to an end? Is that a question you can answer?

This post violates the NAP.

*nukes internally*

Most of the 10 commandments are bullshit
Killing during war is almost a requirement

Second commandment is wrong
>you shall have no idols before me
Ftfy filthy catholic scum

Not taking the lords name in vain is part of the first commandment
