Trump's problem is that his worldview was shaped back when things were "good." He's too old to be a proper visionary leader. He's just scrambling to try and restore America, without truly grasping what's necessary to do so.
Much better than any other GOP candidate since Pat Buchanan, but still a far cry from where we need to be.
I'm actually really concerned about Trump. I don't think he'll do anything horrible, but I'm worried about his presidency being a repeat of the 1980s. Reagan did some alright things, and the political Right DID get some cultural input, but they got complacent and didn't go far enough. The left took 5 steps forward in the 60s, they were only pushed 1 step back.
I don't want that to happen again. I hope Trump is a stepping stone for a new, better GOP, but it could very easily not work out that way.
