The Left Can't Stop Destroying Itself

So it's "make your party look hysterical or we'll overhaul it to make it unwinable".

All the leading Ds confirmed him for district court or something similar 10 years ago. Hillary, (((Schumer))), Bernie, Biden, Obama, etc

We should encourage meme's of this.

We need to meme a seperate BLM party

IT'S ALMOST LIKE THEY'RE ALL EGOTISTICAL, NARCISSISTIC SELFISH FUCKS. GEE I SURE AM SUPRISED

>Tfw not even a single democrat or third party in office even in state legislature by 2020

The Dems are going to battle back the SJW's and make centrist appeals but it's already far too late for them. If the Republicans just leave Obamacare in place with minor tinkering so that they can claim a victory, it's GOP supermajority time.

If the Dem senators in Trump states block him their senate seats may be replaced by Republicans in 2018. Super lefties are delusional about their power. They were riding this false wave of hard leftism because of Sanders but that's dried up and they refuse to realize it. They can't make demands to Democrats right now.

>If the Republicans just leave Obamacare in place
Obamacare is the reason the Republicans started winning again in the first place.

>block Gorsuch
But they can't. All they can do is delay the inevitable.

why take this stand? why block Gorsuch, exactly?

what kind of nominee would they be okay with? do they have any kind of bargaining power here to demand another judge? can they just delay indefinitely? if he gets blocked, then what exactly do they think will happen next?

it's not like he's an extremist, he's just a totally run of the mill conservative judge.

I don't understand why Michael Moore, of all people, is choosing to demand that the Democratic party dies on this hill, of all hills.

>why take this stand?
Because the Republicans blocked every judge Obama appointed.

okay but wasn't that only possible because they had majorities in Congress?

I thought that GOP was in the majority in both houses and actually widened their margins in the general. does it take a supermajority to confirm a Justice, or what?

God Charlotte had such a shit ending.

Do it Michael go and blow up the whole goddamn system!

That's not true. They just blocked the the Gerland guy or whatever his name is.

Dont reason with the shills

It takes a supermajority, but Dems expected to win this election so they created the "nuclear option" to make it just a simple majority.

So they changed the rules and are now mad that the Republicans are using the changed rules?

My God.

They are retarded.

If they followed the Libertarian viewpoint of "Don't make a law that you don't want an ax murderer to enforce against you." Because someday an ax murderer WILL enforce it against you. And now, to Democrat's eyes, that ax murderer has come.

I wonder if this will cause them to pause and have a moment of self-refl... pfft HAHAHAHA

>whites are the master race
>the left are egotistical

No the Jews are the master race.

It's over. Everything Trump wants will be passed and there is NOTHING you can do about it. Facts:

1. There are currently 52 Republicans vs. 48 Libtards in the Senate.

2. Even if 2 Republicans join the democrats, Mike Pence can break the tie. They need to pull in at least 3 Republicans, which is basically impossible to do.

3. The filibuster is gone. In 2013, they changed the rules. They can't use it anymore.

4. Over half of the Democrat senators are up for reelection in 2018. Only 8 Republicans are up. This is a MASSIVE disadvantage for Democrats. It is highly unlikely Democrats will take back the Senate, and more likely Republicans will gain seats with Trump's popularity and actual approval rating already rising.

5. Trump has more power than Obama did in 2009. The issue back in 2009 was mostly the "blue-dog" democrats who were under enormous pressure because most of them were in deep red states who solely won because they campaigned against the Iraq war and didn't fulfill their promise to end it. This was why Obama care took so long to pass, and why it was so fucked up by the time it was done, because they had to get everyone on board and all 60 Democrats (they even had to bribe/blackmail a Republican senator to get it done).

6. Pizza gate is real. Get used to it. We have Weiner's emails, they're damning to hell. Trump doesn't need them though because he has ultimate power right now. But it's just even more leverage that he can use against anyone who stands in his way.

>Democrats get primaried, throwing retarded progressives against well seasoned Republicans.
The left will lose even more ground, we should help the leftists push themselves right over the cliff and onto the rocks.

I can only hope this is how things go. To top it off: 4 more years of Trump.

Obamacare is the reason Republicans took back the majority in Congress. No one with an actual job liked that shitty bill

As Napolean said "Never stop your enemy when he's making a mistake". Let the dems fight amongst themselves, it just solidifies Trump's power over the next eight years. Those liberals are forgetting the the dems have more seats to defend in 2018 than the Republicans do

did this idiot already forget that the democrats rig primaries?

>make your party look hysterical or we'll overhaul it to make it unwinable
so, exactly what conservatives did to win?

moore should run for president
the fat wont hire union bad movie party

The Democrats wanted a liberal justice, it's no secret. Anyone that would let them redefine things like the Second Amendment and Citizens United the way they wanted it and legitimize any legislation they rammed through and declare it constitutional. FDR did this when he was president and blatantly threatened the Supreme Court when they kept declaring his New Deal policies unconstitutional (because they were) until they caved in on most of them. They had to wait until he was dead to rescind most of them.

whats your job?

The Filibuster is still there actually, they kept the clause in for Supreme Court nominations and it's unlikely Republicans will remove it because they'd want to be able to use it in case the shoe is ever back on the other foot.

What exactly can a filibuster do besides waste everyone's time? Are the dems willing to do a 4 year filibuster?

Republicans and the right only have to do what's legal and normal now. This is literally the left destroying itself via itself.
Mabey Iv been out of the loop but it seems the normie left is calming down or sucking it up for the most part. Now it's just the politicians and MSM mouthpieces that are still chimping out
((Their)) soft coup has failed
((Their)) revolution is falling apart

socialism is poison, and fascism is just socialism

>Trump nominates a smart, capable moderate who is closer to Libertarian than "true" Republican.
>The left loses its mind.
Michael Moore is acting like the nominee is Rick Santorum. If a Democrat had appointed him, Mike would be hailing Gorsuch as the glorious common-sense moderate we need to keep the bench from falling into extremism. But that big mean doodie head Donald nominated him, so he must be literally Hitler.

Democrats need to win 24 seats to win back the majority in the House. Entirely within the realm of possibility. Problems:

1. Nancy Pelosi is supreme leader and she is never stepping down. The crybaby snowflakes will have to back her. All Republicans need to do is show her face everywhere which is enough to discredit them.

2. Illegal immigrants will be deported en-mass and won't be able to vote. "Dreamers" will be dumped back to their home country and people will applaud and turn out to vote again. Trump will secure the hispanic vote forever.

3. Trump is launching a massive nation-wide investigation into voter fraud across the country. PEOPLE WILL BE THROWN IN PRISON OR WILL RESIGN. It's already proven in 5 states that voter fraud occurred. And no, registering in 2 different states isn't illegal despite what people say, it's only if you vote twice.

4. Jobs are coming back. I see something like Black Monday or Black Tuesday occurring in the stock market in the next 2 years, but it will recover soon enough. The rest of the world is in far worse shape, and if go through a recession the entire world will too. So don't count on jobs being shipped overseas so easily.

5. The billionaires are going down. Every single one of them will be audited by the IRS and new laws will target them specifically, especially the top 8 that hold half the worlds wealth. They can do all they want but buying elections won't suffice.

>what kind of nominee would they be okay with?

A lot of them say they won't accept anyone but Merrick Garland, or someone to the left of him. I don't think any lawmakers have come out with this position, but it's what a lot of the activists screaming "WE ARE YOUR BASE" want.

>do they have any kind of bargaining power here to demand another judge?

Not really, unless the GOP really doesn't want to invoke the nuclear option. And this is complicated because the vulnerable Dem Senators, like Manchin and MacCaskill, don't want to lose their seats in 2018. So these Dems will probably persuade another Democrats whose seat is secure for at least 4 years to vote to confirm Gorbachev so that the threat of flibuster can be overcome

>can they just delay indefinitely?

They could, but even the liberal justices on the court are opposed to that.

>if he gets blocked, then what exactly do they think will happen next?

They probably think someone more moderate will be put forth, but it's more likely Trump comes back with someone even more conservative, like Pryor, GOP invokes the nuclear option as punishment, and they ram him through.

>it's not like he's an extremist, he's just a totally run of the mill conservative judge.

Exactly, Clarence Thomas is realistically more extreme than Gorbachev. Liberals are just pissed off about the election and the fact that Garland isn't there and that Hillary isn't set to pick another justice or two.

>*Gorbachev

Kek, Gorsuch

>We need to meme a seperate BLM party
This is fucking genius and nobody has replied.

Attempting to filibuster is the best strategic move. It is a useless rule and Gorsuch will be confirmed regardless. It is much better to put up the fight now and use it to energize your base. This will also make yertle and the GOP own the removal to the filibuster. It is a great thing to campaign on. Gridlock always rewards the obstruction party

It will also allow you to identify those that will not listen to their voters and those senators can be primaried. The party needs to be cleaned out, remove the clinton swine, and get some better candidates in. This is the only way

>besides waste everyone's time?

are you still not familiar with how our government works?

>No one with an actual job liked that shitty bill
News flash, tons of people don't have "actual jobs."

The world isn't confined to your upper-middle class bubble.

What it baffles me is how stupid they are. They don't even realise that by being all hysterical about every single thing Trump does and by whining like fucking children, that'll further alienate the moderate democrat voters in the next election.

These are tea party tactics, faggot. Look how it wound up bearing fruit for this ejection cycle.

Except that conservatives actually addressed the concerns of the people. Dems ignored them and are now paying the price.

But what stops us from just waiting for the filibuster to finish then just voting? Just because someone talked for 20 hours straight doesn't stop people from voting 'Yay'.

>They don't even realise that by being all hysterical about every single thing Trump does and by whining like fucking children, that'll further alienate the moderate democrat voters in the next election.

You mean, just like the GOP base and the TEA party? Don't you remember the eight years of FEMA camps and death panels? This is honestly needed for the Dems. They party needs to be cleared of all the swine that don't do what the voters want. You need the voters to call and bitch for this to happen.

The congressmen will either bend to the voters will or get their ass primaried. It will make for a better party. Thankfully the crazy SJW don't really have broad support. They just make a lot of noise because they were used by clinton. They will be cleared away as well for an economic message

Moore's an idiot. Gorsuch will be going to the Supreme Court, democrats can either vote for him or the nuclear opinion (which democrats were planning to use to get Hillary's justice in if she won) will be used, either way Gorsuch is going to the court.

>Gridlock always rewards the obstruction party

This isn't true, it's a huge gamble that depends on which way the winds are blowing. When GOP was obstructing, Obama was pretty unpopular, the Democrats up for reelection in 2014 actively distanced themselves from him. Obstructing this early in the game, when you don't know how things might be 2 years from now, is a major risk, you don't know what could happen in that time and that you might lose many of those dedicated activists to attrition.

>You mean, just like the GOP base and the TEA party?
Oh please. The Tea Party was nowhere near equivalent to these crazy leftists that chimp out and riot everywhere.

I was working minimum wage when Obongocare first went into affect and my employer cut my hours in half to avoid having to give me insurance. I also lost $100 a month in additon to the other taxes that came out of my check to pay for the insurance I was now forced to have so some lazy fuck could get free insurance.

Their base wants them to fight.
They think if they do what the Tea Party did it will work out the same.

The problem for them is the Republican base cares every time all the time and they are less reliable voters.

As a Republican hope they force the issue to the point of they use the nuclear option sooner rather than later.
It will make Pryors appointment that much easier when it comes up.

fair point, but the base is angry. you need to placate them. regardless the dems are as low as they are going to get they have nowhere to go but up.

If everything is going to happen regardless best to put up the fight and win the points

Brilliant!

They need to be made front and center in the DNC. BLM is what pushed me out of the Democratic party. Racial Identity politics is a decade or two too soon, they jumped the gun and started before they had secured an insurmountable majority.

Except that the Tea Party didn't completely upheave the GOP and the Tea Party was nowhere near as extreme as the SJW branch of the left. As it stands, the major pillar of Democrat power is the moderate vote because despite how loud they are, there actually isn't a very large number of leftists in the US. Democrats only became relevant when they chose to become more centrist to have a larger demographic appeal but Trump has largely taken that base from them and SJWs continue t alienate them from the party with their identity politics. If the dems thought 2016 was bad, 2020 will seriously have them considering suicide at the rate they're going.

The major problem for the left is the base has moved so far left that it can not pull itself back to the center.

The zealots on the left are so rabid that even if their own supporters suggest moderating their views or demands the hordes of SJW's, POC's, and the general rabble of leftist morons call them out as being fascist, racist, nazis, and so on. The left is going to need a major refactoring if they ever expect to be re-elected.

As someone who strongly disagrees with the left this is great news. The longer the left continues to move its agenda more out of the mainstream the more they will continue to self-destruct.

Honestly, I recommend that people encourage these idiots on the left. Let these SJW's and degenerate trash be the face of the Democratic party. Let them be the cesspool they really are.

The SJW branch is not as popular as you would think. The polls I have seen for the chair of the DNC have all had the men who want to focus on all fifty states, talk about all americans not single groups, and focus on economics in the lead.

There is almost zero support for the crazy SJW. They were given a voice by Clinton to get the women vote and they will now be shown the door because they didn't deliver.

There is no way Obamacare will survive in name or otherwise. Wake the fuck up you dunce.

>the base

The issue is, is this really the base? I grew up in VA, my parents have been reliable Democrat voters, but they were very against Bernie Sanders and said they would rather vote Trump, 3rd party or not at all than for him. Same goes for Elizabeth Warren. I'm not sure this progressive revolution is what the majority of Democrat voters want, especially those who are 40+, a lot of the moderates think Trump is a buffoon (a lot of Reagan in 1980 comparisons) but want to see him given a chance, if Dems block him from doing anything, they might vote to pack Congress with even more GOPers so that he can do something. Primaries don't mean shit if then you nuke your chances in the general.

>Sup Forums think the Left and democrats are the same.

I knew you guys were out of touch, but not this out of touch.

Wasn't he unanimously voted in by dems as well though

The dems don't have the power to block the GOP, that is the point. All they can do is put up a fight. If they put up the fight they show people they at least have something resembling a spine.

If they roll over then they are more than useless. The Dems will never go obstruct 100% because they don't vote lockstep but they should fight every chance they get and make the GOP own every policy they pass. If the policy fails they have a weapon to use in elections. Its a gamble but its the only move they have

>The Dems don't vote lockstep

Honestly it's two different parties barely stuck together at this point. I really don't see a way they can salvage their coalition in the near future

>the dems are as low as they are going to get they have nowhere to go but up

>implying
It's not over yet my americanical user fwend.
It's only week 2.

>Who is Sotomayor?
>Who is Kagan?
You completely forgot about the two softball players, huh?

Additionally,
>What is the Biden rule? What is 1992?

They aren't as low as they are going to get yet

That will come in 2018

could BLM run for senate and local things?

That is both parties. When real votes start to come up to pass bills you will see the same thing with the GOP. You have the defect hawks, the social conservatives, and the neocons. It is easier to get the whole party to vote no, especially for the GOP, but much harder for the to all vote yes.

>democrats voting in midterms

Is this how jews feel when they're happyl?

Oh man, you're not going to like the Senate elections in 2018. Shit is dire.

Plus, minorities and especially the youth don't vote in midterms, or even know they exist. If Trump keeps living up to his promises, you have to go up against a bunch of energized whites, elderly people, and rednecks who view voting as a "civic duty" instead of a nuisance. Especially after voter fraud is cracked down on, and the illegals and dead aren't allowed to stuff the ballots.

It's going to be the worst ass-kicking since 2010, maybe even worse.
It's going to get ugly down the line, for sure. The average Midwestern Democrat isn't in favor of socialism or open borders.

That's what they said about the tea party, you know.

Well yes, but none of the Republican ideologies are necessarily opposed to one another. It's knitted as closely together as it's always been

With the Dems, you have all the Midwest Democrats essentially promoting Trump's economic platform and then all the coastal progressives shilling for open borders and socialism. They are fundamentally opposed to one other.

It's a much, much, much bigger problem for Democrats, especially because there's a lot more Democratic senators and congressmen from red-leaning or purple states than there are Republican senators and congressmen in blue-leaning or purple states.

It goes in hand with being the "progressive" party having to oppose the conservative party. You need to walk the line between people on the political spectrum on your side, which is a lot easier to do as a conservative.

>It's going to be the worst ass-kicking since 2010, maybe even worse.

The trump victory is not as strong as you would think. It was like ~70,000 voters in the Rust belt. Promises like the wall or the Muslim ban is not what won him the election. It is all about the economy.

If their is jobs and a growing economy, you are right, if trade wars result in high gas prices and the jobs don't appear then his votes in the rust belt will disappear.

Everyone who loves his shit right now are his die hard supporters, they were never winnable to the Dems regardless of what he does.

I hope the democrats never win another election ever again.

except the Democrats will just use it as soon as they need it anyways. So might as well use it now.

It was effectively 'gone' as soon as the Democrats used the option on the lower court judges. They're just too stupid to realize it.

he is such an inbred rat. Just look at his gross little disproportionate face. Literally the first of his race, a rat-toad

>the dems are as low as they are going to get they have nowhere to go but up

Donald Trump won't be the nominee.
Donald Trump won't win the election.
The electoral college won't vote for Donald Trump.
The chief justice won't swear in Donald Trump.
Donald Trump won't take office.
Donald Trump won't keep his campaign promises.
***** YOU ARE HERE *****
There won't be republican majorities turning into super majorities in 2018.
Donald Trump won't win re-election in 2020.
Republicans won't have enough support to pass constitutional amendments.

>what is the Biden rule
Exactly this, Obama couldn't really say shit about his pick getting blocked because his vp cucked him. Instead the democrats decided to play the long game for the election so they could nominate an extremist instead and the lost. It's all spilled milk at this point

The jobs will come back. He's practically destroyed any hope of a relationship with Mexico already. Either side just has to throw up some trade barriers and everyone moves production to the US.

The question is only if they'll come back fast enough to avoid ecnomic damage by midterms. I don't think they will but I don't know anything about the speed of economic changes

planefag, is that you?

>being this retarded

>unironically believing in permanent single party rule

Trump may win reelection, true, but they are going to be the party to follow in depth now instead of the GOP because the fighting is going to be fierce.

The only fun, for a junkie, with the following in detail the GOP is going to be Lindsay and John when they decide to go anti-russia

>If they roll over then they are more than useless. The Dems will never go obstruct 100% because they don't vote lockstep but they should fight every chance they get and make the GOP own every policy they pass.

You say this like it's obvious, but it's only obvious to you, that's not necessarily how other typical Democrat voters, the older ones accustomed to business-as-usual, will see it. If the GOP is forced to vote in lockstep to pass their legislation over staunch Democrat opposition, there are about as many who will say "Maybe this would have worked better had the Democrats been willing to cooperate with the GOP on it, I remember when the two parties got along well" as there are those who will say "HA! See, that Republican legislation has been a disaster, time to vote Democrat".

We know who sets your agenda and it's not you.

I fear the jobs that come back will be automated so you won't see the recovery that was hoped for in the rust belt. They also require factories to be built.
Coal is even more complex because the demand, even with less regulation, is not their.

I anticipate some type of action against Iran, which will cement his reelection, unless he tried to override mattis and do something that cost a lot of americans their lives. Regardless it will be interesting to watch what happens.

>completely delusional liberal shill secretly rooting against the country doing well so his preferred party can get into power

The Dems have a real problem with strategic thinking. They GOP will gladly burn the bridges and salt the earth if it gets them what they want. The Dems always try to make friends, its fucking useless and infuriating to watch.

Just get up on the senate floor and speak from the gut, wrap yourself in the flag and call the enemy exactly that, an enemy to freedom. Do what it takes to win, worry about governing later

Automation is a meme. Even with automation, a single factory can turn a county around

Don't forget they blackmailed the chief justice, John Roberts.

The Democratic Party has a horrible field coming up in 2018, if they purity spiral while on the defense like that they'll give the Republicans a supermajority.

Have you been paying attention? Politics has, and always will be, a fucking game. Its better than football and has no off-season. The fun is in the strategy.

What are these kinds of images called? I fucking love 'em.

can't this fat fuck just die or coronary disease already?

2 of those Republicans are Graham and McCain, and between them I'm confident they can find a few cuckservatives to flip on important issues. We won't have the Senate completely on lock until after 2018.

Best timeline!

>they have nowhere to go but up.
is it 2018 already?

>doesn't deny rooting against the country
Shut the fuck up, shillfaggot. Your loser Democrats will be replaced by your preferred more extreme loser Democrats, and they'll get their asses kicked even worse than the current loser Democrats are.

Instead of learning from the mistakes that got your party's asses kicked, you're doubling down like a bunch of morons.

Good luck getting a Warren elected in Missouri or West Virginia or Ohio or Indiana or Pennsylvania or Florida or Wyoming or Montana, all seats that need to be defended in the near future.

Gorbachev is far too right wing for these commies.

EVEN THE PASSENGER GETS ARRESTED!

North Dakota, not Wyoming.
