It's an umbrella term for everything vaguely right wing that isn't Mitt Romney or Rand Paul style Republicanism.
The idea is to define the movement as Alt-Right, a created term, then focus on certain elements ripe for criticism, and apply it to the whole. People move away from modern traditional Republicanism, therefore they're Alt-Right. White nationalists are also there, therefore we lump them into the movement, and then Alt-Right is a movement with white nationalism. Everyone who isn't a traditional Republican is a white nationalist.

It is basically a loose coalition of groups on the Right who are brought together through a willingness to separate from Republicanism and at least entertain the Jewish Question. "Snowflakes" is not even often used, as I see it and has clear demeaning purpose, so it`s a different technique, that does not require much explanaion, unlike "punga".
