Romania is a safe geopolitical location for a superpower to entrench itself, and it will be difficult to throw them out( because the Carpathians). IF YOU WISH to control the Balkans, SE Europe, you control Romania.

You are not really on target my friend. There are active corruption investigations in Romania that are targeting a lot of the Social-Democrat party members (including the social democrat president). The social democrats are in power in our parliament and basically managed to bully this law into power so that all investigations would cease . The actual President of the country has been trying to oppose the social democrats at all times . And it's not right-wingers on the streets , its basically everybody : students , workers , leftists and right wingers . Even some police officers are on strike . All the minority parties within the parliament are opposing the law . But the problem is that the Social-Democrats just don't give a fuck .
