Item two: Many of the people impacted by the travel ban were already inside the United States. As the travel ban also applies to RE-ENTRY, green card holders currently within our borders are being denied the right of return based solely on national origin. As the travel ban was the government version of surprise sex, a number of new arrivals did in fact get detained WITHIN the US.

A green card normally authorizes reentry. It can be revoked under exceptional circumstances, but I don't see 'born in Iraq' as likely to hold up as reasonable grounds for revocation - it's not something that the green card holder had any control over.
