Everyone has a right to education

Everyone has a right to education

you really don't

No they don't.

Yes you do you fucking faggot piece of shit trumpet fag

Rights are imaginary.

>If you don't provide federal funding to our college you're a fascist

sound.

They really don't.

It's a privilege gained through merit, or at least it should be.

Go ahead OP, if its a right then you should be able to get into ANY college you want with your GED, 500 SAT, and 78 IQ.

you only have the "right" to live.

You have a right, and universities have a right to charge you for it.

Everyone has a right to indoctrination.

A uni is suppose to be a place of learning where students can encounter different opinions. It's not suppose to be an echo chamber. If a uni can't do this, it's not a uni and doesn't deserve funding.

The Supreme Court says otherwise, buckaroo.
San Antonio Independent School District v. Rodriguez. Fuck off permanently.

if you're using the internet, every possible tool to learn any skill is right at your fucking fingertips

if you absolutely NEED to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to have someone read from a textbook to you, i'm afraid no amount of 'education' is going to make you a useful asset to society

If a public university can't support different viewpoints like they are legally bound to then they don't deserve government funding.

>haha DRUMPF btfo! take that you stupid rednecks! you backwards hillbillies don't even have a fancy wymyns studies degree like us superior liberals do!
>OMG YOU WANT TO STOP THROWING MONEY AT US? BUT THEN WHO WILL PAY US FOR HATING AND INSULTING YOU?

Everyone has no rights whatsoever apart from those that the ruling caste deems expedient to endow them with at any given time.

Universities could use a wake-up call. Fuck these money grubbing brainwashing institutions.

People don't go to schools to have someone read a textbook to them, they go to schools to get overprices pieces of paper that say someone read a textbook to them.

>500 SAT

Is that even possible? I got a 1300 and didn't even study and got into a uni

Not an argument.

>give us money or you're fascist
???????

What a wild concept... Refuse to follow the law of the land and the land won't give you free money to turn it's own people against it.

literally a cuck

He should absolutely cut funding.

When the universities have tighter budgets, it will be interesting to see if Womens/Chicano/African/etc Studies departments survive.

wrong

You only have a right to a basic education up untill the age of 18.

Any more than that and it's your choice and should be paid for by yourself.

Says who?

I think Trump's admin needs to audit all of the publicly funded "1st Amendment" free speech unis. Any that are found lacking the basic necessities/will to enforce their rules should have their Fed funding cut at least in half.

This will hit all the Unis out in Wash State and Cali the hardest, and is honestly a good thing as they are out of control with the leftism.

Let fucking Jack Dorsey or Soros sponsor them instead, at least then there are no illusions.

If you believe California gives back more in taxes than it receives [citation needed] and it no longer receives funding for UC schools by the federal gov, then obviously CA should have its federal taxes levied in proportion to funding lost

If California is such a great state, it should be able to fund its own schools, but it can't, because it really isn't.

>Everyone has no rights whatsoever apart from those that the ruling caste deems expedient to endow them with at any given time.

This is close to my personal worldview.

However, I say it in a more positive way.

You have NO RIGHTS except for the rights that you have the strength to defend.

yea, would be nice if the universities kept everyone safe when a speaker they disagree with comes to campus.

Is that the most up to date ruling from the Supreme Court? It was in 1973 so it might have been overruled from then.

Friendly reminder It's not authoritarian when they have the power to give you stuff, it's only authoritarian when they take it away.

This cunt is a lunatic.

Is gatorade also a human right?

Where's your state in relation to the global economy?

I'm assuming this is bait, most people are not this retarded. If you really think this, you have to change your attitude because that's a really dangerously naive mindset to go into the world with.
To put it simply, any right you assume you have or your authority figures tell you you do, is bullshit. It can be used as a rug to pull it from under you, and then wrap you up in it and throw you in the cell, and then throw away the key.
The only right we all have is to die, and some of us who don't get aborted get the right to live, but that right is always secondary and can be revoked at any time. Those are the terms you basically signed in for when you were born, they just didn't need your signature for it.

OH NO TRUMP IS GOING TO SAVE THEM ALL $100,000 DOLLARS BECAUSE THEY WON'T GET THEIR USELESS GENDER STUDIES DEGREE.

>Everyone has a right to education
including conservatives

white privilidget race traitors will get btfo. can we stop winning?

>WHY DO FASCISTS KEEP TRYING TO NOT DO ANYTHING?

Ausfailians can't discern between a basic human right and a privilege for those with means.

You can't have a 'right' to another person's labor. It doesn't work that way. You can have a right to PURSUE an education, sure. You don't have the right to be PROVIDED an education.

>Everyone has a right to education.
Everyone except those nasty North Carolinians. Obama needed to Title IX their asses for not letting trannies in the girls room.

Then to go the library and read a book you stupid nigger

california is a black hole of federal funding, it's just that every company based there is counted as doing all of it's business in california to compute those metrics that leftists like to wank with.

>Those are the terms you basically signed in for when you were born, they just didn't need your signature for it.
reality is change, it never consulted any of us as to how we want it to change.

Slap this on some EU/UN letterhead and you've got a real nice meme going there

lol no

nah ana is deadass

Reminds me of that one video of protestors doing their chimping in a library before getting shut down by a based chink.

Doesn't surprise me that libs would have no respect for a library, they prefer to have a lecturer tell them how to think rather than take on the daunting task of educating themselves.

That is false. Education is a privilege, not a right.

Also all of this. Except that one about specific university, I heard something happened at Berkeley, I've been out of the loop for last few days, I'm assuming it's another college chimp out and "much ado about nothing", but I will look into it.
No serious university should allow this to happen, if you can't provide a free platform to discuss and debate opposite opinions, and tolerant enough atmosphere for students to practice 1st amendment, I wonder how are students who have the unfavoured opinions being treated there? Are they even free to express their opinion? If not, what kind of draconian punishment do they receive from their peers and professors? Then it does not deserve to call itself a sanctuary for scholars.

To an extent.

Everyone has a right to seek and/or gain an education, but to simply state that education is a right implies that someone else must provide it.

If we agree that "everyone has a right to an education", then we must also accept that some form of slavery must occur in order to affect it.

Do you have a right to refuse to perform a service?

If I demand an education and you will not, or cannot, provide it, who gets served with the lawsuit? Should I be able to use governmental force to compel you to provide me my 'right'?

How much would be considered "reasonable" if we're discussing fees required to exercise your "right". When an institution asks for payment, could that be considered an infringement?

No parsley, no rosemary, no thyme...

Freedom is a right too. If you commit a crime you can get it revoqued. Next time think before you act, stupid retards.

Nobody has a right to my income. Period.

>My 6th largest world economy

OK then you can fund Berkley all by yourself.

It's simple, if you receive federal funding then you have to allow and protect freedom of speech for anyone. If you don't intervene when students are rioting and destroying the campus( which has to be fixed with, you guessed it, 55% of the repairs coming from the us federal government) when they disagree with somethinflg then no federal money.

California, friendo.
State schools should be paid with state funds. Those State funds should be properly allocated to education instead of being embezzled by the left who then turn around and petition the government for more of your and my federal taxes

>I got a 1300
1300/1600 or 1300/2400? they added a subjective writing component in 2005 so they could pad the scores of niggers and spics and pretend they are near human intelligence.

(((education))) no you fucking baitposter. The frankfurt school and cultural marxism, teachings of Saul Alinskys rules for radicals, """critical""" theory etc should all be taught as REDPILLS about how nihilist / dissent groups work and function. NOTHING ELSE

FUCKING COMMIES SO SICK OF YOUR SHIT

Watch some George Carlin or Molyneux you cunt. Most education and especially the modern you get, is given us by our rulers so we can serve them better.

>Building connections for your career & financial prospects is bad
>Socializing your children so they donĀ“t end up on Sup Forums and gain autism-points is bad
>All schools and schooling is bad, anyone can learn anything from READING about it

kys

This logic is only valid so long as employers don't rquire degrees, fuckface.

Why the questionmarks. We had a nice litle protest saying exactly this just a while back. Was welfare recipients but same people tbqh.

Exactly, I like the way you formulated that,
Are you talking about my opinions? They sound anarchist? I'm not one I assure you, there's no bigger communism or socialism hater than people who lived under it's iron fist.
This is just pure uncut 1st hand empirical knowledge, I'm not pro-anarchist or anything, it's just how I learned the world works, or at least how we as humans made it work.
To favor the 1% of richest 1%, who make their donations for both blue and red team every 4 years, so they can rest assured nothing will change for them. Change, after all, is for peasants like us who can't afford to freeze time and live forever. The same way they pay to win in politics, they win in altruism, by giving donations to charities who then spend it for more marketing and to book more celebrity supporters, and give their charity organization staff big thick wages and keep growing and growing, while 2% of the money left actually goes to those hungry little niggers in Africa.
Idk, maybe it looks different when you look at it from more comfy perspective like 1st world, but here this is one of the first lessons life gives you. If that makes you anarchist, so be it, though I never liked any labels or social groups/ packs. I prefer to travel without labels or badges.

The same sort of thing is happening here, except it's just funds (VET Fee) being cut from entire fields of study.

The more you get out of the way the more authoritarian you are for leftists.

>everyone has a right to seek education
ftfy

Even plants crave electrolytes

Yep, this is only right to an extent. You university degree still matters, no one has the time to test how good your self-education went.
Self-teaching yourself in various things is welcomed and good way to spend your free time, but it doesn't equate having a degree.
Not to mention that not everything can be passed by sheer texts in .pdf format. You can't learn how to calm your hands for surgery over internet as well as another surgeon can show you. You can't prepare for blood and guys and chaos of war by reading a book online, even going through training in the army isn't enough to prepare you, but it's still better.
Mainstream education is overpriced, no single person would argue that, but I don't think it is overrated. There's a difference. Not to mention that self-taught people's education is usually full of holes and spread all around.
There are, of course, some types of expertise when internet can teach you everything you need to know, be it coding or playing the stocks if you have the capital, but almost anything crucial to society, that requires you to get in with your hands as well and not just use your brain, but education in schools/universities is still irreplaceable for some other fields of expertise.

wrong

Yes, everyone has a right to education, but no one has a right to force others to pay for theirs.

True.

positive rights are fucking gay and probably jewish trickery

>WHY AREN'T YOU CONTRIBUTING YOUR TAX MONEY TO FUND OUR RIOTING AND CAMPUS WIDE HISSY FITS?! AUTHORITARIAN MUCH?
These idiots haven't a fucking clue do they?

I think assaulting people to silence their opinion is authoritarian.

Removing govt. funding, however, I don't think is.

That is the most up-to-date ruling. Education is not a fundamental constitutional right.

Services are not rights.

>These idiots haven't a fucking clue do they?
The funds go into science research, the students pay for their own hissy fits. The only faggots who do not know what they are talking about are the ones in this board.

>my goal is to work for someone else

sounds like you had the wrong idea from the start, then

Nope education is not a right.

>throw tantrum because you didn't get what you want
>cry more when you get punished for throwing a tantrum
Why does the left collectively act like a perpetual 6 year old?

>snatch funding
>daddy cut off my allowance
>he's hitler now

Not an argument

>It won't matter because UC can just triple their tuition price and millennials will pay it anyways with (((borrowed))) money

Found the LARPer

It's not Trump's fault that the colleges accept federal funding and play politics. It's simple, if you want taxpayer dollars, you can't be a mouthpiece for one side.

I'm sure its going to many important sciences such as gender studies and latinx thought

lefties chimped out cuz someone they disagreed with was doing a speech they did roughly $100000 in damages

It is an argument though?
So what, when presented with something that is true, you just deflect? Hows Mc. Donalds treating you? maybe you can work your way up to management one day.

>Everyone has a right to education

subjective

This betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of what rights actually are. You have a right to education, a right to healthcare, a right to travel, even a right to a traditional white wife if you like. All of these rights are protected by the constitution and cannot be lawfully taken away from you. But having the right to these things does not mean you have an entitlement to them. You have a right to education, which means you are free to pursue education and be educated, but no one is obliged to educate you since that would be a violation of their right to not educate.

In other words, just because you have a right to something doesn't mean you're entitled to force others to give you that something.

No. Nanotech, bio (microbs are being researched heavily right now), physics, and I did traffic research there to optimize city networks. There is not a large phd program for gender studies. like at all.

r u a Scouser on holiday?

Education doesn't fall under life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

It is more like everyone has the right to compete for an education. If you want one, you better bust your ass to get one.

no, ignorance is bliss

No you don't. Education as a right undermines the whole point of getting an education. It's something you have to work for because in working for it you appreciate it more. If shit's just given to you for free then no one takes it seriously

No....they don't.

"Did the Black Bloc at Berkeley just prove Milo right?

No. No, they didn't.

Milo's supporters have claimed that they're vindicated no matter how the Left responds to his appearances. If you go across campus and have a separate event, you're a "snowflake" in a "safe space". If you protest, you're a "shrill SJW" who "doesn't want dialogue". If you riot and shut his event down, you're a "leftist goon". Debate? Milo didn't come to debate- and if you give him a debate partner, the next stop he'll still be claiming that the left is "afraid to debate him".

If the Berkeley protesters had stood there peacefully chanting, they would still be accused, today, of hating free speech. Milo, a vocal supporter and sycophant of an administration that put a gag rule on scientists and defames the press, doesn't get accused of hating free speech. The ongoing defunding and censorship of left-wing curriculum and groups on college campuses doesn't get called an attack on free speech. That's because this isn't about an abstract right to free speech- it's about power, and challenging speech that upholds and defends the status quo (which is what Milo is about, whatever his ramblings about the "liberal establishment") is always seen as a threat to free speech, while censorship imposed by the wealthy and powerful never is.

At least in Berkeley, the accusations of censorship come the morning after a victory, not a defeat."

Well just to be clear, I think that people have a right to education, but I don't think this would be infringing on their rights. There are other schools. If they don't have the means to go to them, tough. Maybe they shouldn't have relied so much on federal funds.
