Around 7th grade, I didn't want to be associated with neckbeards so I became agnostic. After a few months, God showed me the path, and I became a Christian.

Never grew into it. A good Christian my whole life.

When It offers no substitute for Christian Morality. Plus everyone who says they're atheist is just an Autist who trys to be edgy.

nice painting choice

too bad modern day religious people are so shitty, lame, or insane.

when I realised Dawkins fiddled more kiddies than the average priest

Says who, you. Crazy no. Over enthusiastic, yeah. Lame no but pretty cringe.

about age 23. Ashamed it took so long but I'm glad I've smartened up now.

When I realized hell was the logical conclusion to the life I've liven

You mean become dumb? Never

Shame, some one lost their skull.

You're confused, mate. You don't grow out of not believing on magic, it's the other way around.

Magic is just technology we don't comprehend.

Nice thread, pastor.

"HEH HEH JESUS IS THE ULTIMATE REDPILL! RIGHT MY DUDES?!"

go to a subway tunnel in new york city around 5 pm. fucking insane as people screaming about jesus, people with pamphlets and hats and consumerist shit about muh lord

November 7th.

When will God show me the path

Agnosticism is the true answer. Even if God had given us his divine word, do you really trust (((them))) enough to not tamper with it? The reality is we were seeded long ago by another species. That's god.

That room made me question his sanity.

>modern Scandinavia in action

>magic
Christianity is historically disbelieving in magic. Even in the days they thought the actions of witches were true. Then they didn't believe it was magic in the traditional sense but the actions of other creatures and the witches were being fooled into thinking they had powers. This is a major part of why witches in the medieval era were considered Satanic.

Granted the understanding of the situation has improved since then but it's worth noting.

rock bottom.

You believe nothing begat nothing and all human experience is void of objective value or meaning.

I believe there is more to it because the human experience; and my experiences of love and hate, and the endless struggles between good and evil; leads me to the conclusion that for these things to be completely meaningless is more absurd than believing there is some purpose.

I've found incredible depth and wisdom in Christianity, it is a far more complex and beautiful religion than any other I've studied. It's popular representation does not do it justice. I think the gospel is the truth, but not everyone has ears to hear it.

When you let him

Why the fuck would I grow out of a lack of religious belief? Why are you asking such a retarded loaded question in the first place?

Jews, in his time didn't exist. The Modern Jews are a Turkic people who adopted Judaism.
Jesus was a Hebrew of Judah, not the Caucasus. Plus Genetically Jews are Very European.

Welcome to Sup Forums

>Christianity is historically disbelieving in magic
Oh, right, because you put "divine powers" in a different category.
Fuck off, Wolfy, y'know what I meant. But I'll try again. You don't grow out of not believing in dumbass bullshit, it's the opposite way around. Is that better?

Never. Everyone around me is probably Atheist. However I do not talk about religion so I am not sure who actually believes or not.

Christianity =/ Occultism

Are you really ready to accept it?

Is you heart humble? Will you look at yourself critically not as man sees but as God will show you?

>supporting monarchism
Fuck off, you un-American piece of shit.
>The Modern Jews are a Turkic people who adopted Judaism.
That's not supported by snything.

Was an atheist until 13.
Then, I figured out some spiritual reality - karma, god or whatever has to exists.
Been traditional / believed in YHWH up until like 20.
Became very religious until 22 (been like that from 20 to 22).
And then stuff happened and I figured organized religion is bullshit.
Now I'm just agnostic and have no organized philosophy. And frankly, I don't care anymore.

This image is stupid right from the first paragraph, christianity isn't under attack in the way that you think it is, rather the underlying social and economic norms that supported religious/social conservatism have been dying for decades due to advancing technology and increased economic prosperity. Furthermore your hairsplitting over christianity not being jewish and the bible not being written by jews is fucking retarded. The Jews still revere the old testament, and Jesus was just one in a long line of messianic Jews that got killed for being stupid.

"God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance that’s getting smaller and smaller as time moves on."

Dropping your system of beliefs because of fedora meme.
I hope you enjoy washing Muslim feet.

Rather Muslims than Jews

The truth is the truth.

If you don't want it, you won't find it. But it's worth finding.

>divine powers in a different category

Naturally. God is classically understood by theologians to be the ground of being that sustains reality in one constant act of creation. The miraculous, then, is akin to a flashlight altering what it emits rather than moving the light waves themselves and "breaking the laws of physics" akin to how magic is traditionally understood.

Laws of physics are no force of their own but only seen in regularities in nature. Change (whether regularity or the miraculous) are maintained in the same style either way. So obviously this isn't "magic" and need be categorized differently.

Also your new phrasing is better but given that you then are just talking shit and visibly upset then it's not much better.

I don't care anymore, though.
I'll believe in god truly if he ever bothers to reveal himself to me, like Abraham and stuff.
Until that day, I'd rather treat it like a myth, because of no evidence.

Plus, I'm not a kid anymore. I've got to balance my bills, live, do the things I want to before I die...
I'm contempt with the lifestyle I live. If YHWH or any other deity has a problem they can go fuck themselves.

Also, no serious, educated, scientifically literate person is really an atheist. Just agnostic with a strong tilt toward atheist.

Pure Atheism is a religion for people who hate the idea of God.

You are an idiot. Hoi da Jew. Hoi Jew. When Mister Trump is a Staunch supporter of Israel, when Ivanka is an Orthodox Jew. When will you gas them?

Well, Jews are your God's chosen people.

Was a Christian when i was a boy, when I got into high school, I listened to all these Atheists and was a borderline blue pilled faggot, then my mother took me to church and since then I've come to realize just how much of fools Atheists really are. I'm truly ashamed that I almost became them.

Because they want to be their own God, their own Master. Predictable from people who feel helpless in life.

Says who. Some Rabbi? The balls Jews have to put words in Gods mouth.

twitter.com/timewave666/status/827610611743916033

when I started using psychedelics and realizing nihilism is just opting out of the game because it doesn't matter who wins or loses, it's just watching the clock while life passes by, might as well whistle or play solitaire to pass the time

There's no visible support of monarchy. Just monarchy's support of Christianity.

No. Anti-clericalism, explicit anti-theism, anti-metaphysics triumphanted, demonization of "organized religion", and explicit anti-catholicism that has led to false propaganda of much of Europe's Christian history is and has been terribly rife.

Your understanding of the dismissal of Christianity is incredibly naive and has no bearing on reality. Secularization theory is very much just confirmation bias and little to no anthropological work done.

I wish I could. I just cant believe. I've tried. But deep down in my heart I know I don't 100% buy it.

That's bullshit I keep hearing again and again...

Let's settle this: Not all Jews are Ashkenazi Jews.
Ashkenazi == European.
You can debate over whether they are Khazars or whatever who converted.
But there are other significant Jewish groups in the world BESIDE ASHKENAZIS who are not Europeans.
There are Jews from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Morocco (that group is quite huge).
These areas are way closer to the original land of Judea and there's no reason to believe those groups have converted.

When I became aware of my mortality.
I just shat my pants with fear, looked for a way to escape death, and became a christian. Fortunately I'm not too bright, so the whole invisible-guy-with-magic-wand story kinda almost makes sense to me.

Like I said, you were given free will and it's yours to use as you see fit. But know that our choices matter for us and those around us.

Maybe one day, you'll be older and less sure of yourself. Maybe life will have humbled you a bit. And you'll come in prayer to God to ask what the point is. How does one live a good life? Maybe you'll read the gospel of Luke, or John, and see in Jesus something you've never seen before; a heart in him, and a wisdom, that speaks to you. Maybe God will speak to your heart in that moment and from that day onward.

Or maybe not.

You do know where you are, right? Also gassing people isn't a very Christian thing to do, we would rather convert Jews

>When did you finally grow out of atheism Sup Forums?

When I accepted authoritarianism as a proper cuck should.

>sweden

>theism
Nah, I haven't sunk that low yet.

Kinda get sick that compared to Islam, Christianity is pretty peaceful, and all the holy war our predecessors has engaged in were to take stolen land from the Arab Muslims and the Turkish Muslims and the Umayyads (aside from the Crusade we do not speak of.) while Islam has engaged in 100x more Jihads than Crusades, but we're the bad guys? People try to Kill Christianity and let fucking Saracens practicing a Fanfic of Christianity behead them, but its alright, we do it for the diversity.

...

>And you'll come in prayer to God to ask what the point is.

To live for the highest authority and accept that you're promised an afterlife that only comes after you die. Convenient...

when i realized that 70 percent of atheists are liberals who just worship the state instead

Upvoted.

>Romans 11
Christians are God's chosen people

Perhaps, one day.
Until it comes, I'll just keep doing my thing.
I rather let life lead me to it, if it really is my way. As of now, this sort of thing doesn't attract me anymore.

I'm fed up of spirituality from my life as a religious person.
We were sent here to deal with matter of this world too, after all.

Why? They're just Moloch worshiping mother fuckers let them burn.

I like that. Christ is the truth for the wisest king, or the simplest child. God doesn't make salvation dependent on our intelligence or money, but our hearts.

Thou shalt not kill

Early twenties like most people.

God I was a cringy faggot. I used to sit outside a hitch on a bench reading the God Delusion hoping someone would debate me. They never did.

Never owned a fedora though.

>thou shalt not commit murder

Fixed that for you

> When did you finally grow out of mental health Sup Forums?

>Thou shalt not kill ... another Jew

Remember how the Hebrews didn't start wars after they got the Ten Commandments. I don't either.

Religious people are ignorant and for the most part illogical.
They'll point to the bible when you ask them to prove their faith.
You might as well point to a comic book to prove Batman.
There are a ton of shitty arguments religious people use, none of them rooted in logic.
"Oh but this little boy saw Jesus in a dream."
"Oh but I found Jesus in my life through prayer."
"Oh but we were given free will, so that's why babies can die. God wants them to."

Religion is a cancer of our society.

You don't understand shit you moron, you assume that any of this fancy crap matters to the average person and it fucking doesn't. Traditional social and religious mores were undone by contraceptives, condoms, tv dinners and various household appliances. You and those who sympathize with you want the social values of pre-1960s america to come back and they won't because those values were on their deathbed before the hippies and the beatniks before them came into prominence.

Communism still has hold over this one

Yeah, they get others to fight their wars.

Used to be atheist but realize neckbeards and stuff. Became agnostic and have now been accepted by god

Hes a antifreeze huffer.

That's not it at all. God doesn't need us. Our relationship with him is for our benefit. We have free will, and there are consequences to what we do. In this life and even beyond it. Why not do good things and be filled with peace rather than evil and be miserable.
It's not "do hard things now and I'll pay you later". More like "let me help you with that burden you've arranged for yourself. Oh and later we can hang out at my place, it's really nice."

>kikeworship
Valhalla awakes!

>When did you finally grow out of atheism Sup Forums?
I was 21, I'm ashamed now for being a fedora edgelord (I'm 36).

Well said.

I wonder when people on Sup Forums will grow out of roleplaying as righteous Christian crusaders because they want to dissociate themselves from the neckbeard meme.

Religions are for emotional and motivational reasons. Im an atheist, have been for like 8 years or something. But i believe we should preserve our old nordic pagan traditions and the fenno-scandinavian version of christianity in my country because they are a part of OUR culture and heritage. Our people have lived here for thousands of years and we should be proud!

I her Allah cures mental illness I'm going to convert too islam

A ton of you are just pathetic.
So afraid of being called "edgy" that you abandon logic and start believing religious bullshit.
I'll die before I turn to God out of fear, or pier pressure.

stfu edgelord

if only other atheists were like this, it's ok if you don't wanna be part of our club but don't bitch about a club you don't even go to

I was on a path a bit like that not so long ago.

I hope you find good things, or that they find you. Just keep you eyes and heart open even as you get older. Life will keep teaching you things.

Yeah I see it as an important part of our culture and identity. Without religion and traditions we'll just become kike-dick-riding faggots with no national and ethnic identity. Also Kosovo is Serbia :)

>religious mores were undone by things brought about in the 1950s
>fall of Christendom and rise of modernity is well before this
>Protestantism was in need of revivals in America 100 years before this

Where the fuck do you even get this info from, r/atheism? You have no idea of what you speak of and act generally naive over the topic.

All the 60s brought was the sexual revolution and the rise of TV. The sexual revolution was a major dilemma for the west but also in response to the shit to come out of our Puritan heritage in America. We are seeing the beginning of the collapse of that with anti-porn feminism and growing popularity of things like nofap but there's a long way to go there. You shouldn't think that 50s American sexual mores are 1:1 with Christian ones.

With the newest coming generation being more conservative than anyone since the 40s we have reason to think that we're in a position for change.

More importantly, if you think religious mores of Protestant America were done away by access to goods like contraception then you did not grow up in that time frame, that's for sure. Anti-Christian rhetoric was rife, as was media campaigns.
