Why does our education system teach us things that 99% of us will never use? Why not focus on more practical things that everyone will use in day to day life?
For example, my dad passed away so no one ever taught me how to change my own oil. I'd have taken a class on basic car maintenance in a heartbeat if my HS offered it.

If you want to contribute to advancing or innovating in any field, you just might need to know random shit like how plant cells work. It forms the basis for more specialized knowledge, say in the use of agricultural innovation, genetically modified crops, botanical pharmaceuticals, or what have you.

These generation of kids are being taught the wrong life skills, and it's being instilled at them from a young age to where they will not question what they're told.
