Well, reviewing the stats for engineering grads in the US....It shows that there is a low number of female engineers especially in electronics and computer fields. So maybe to solve the US lack of engineers depends on you guys encouraging girls to enter those fields.

In scientific research domains, all groups pursuing similar research are considered to be a part of the same community. Why? Because they attend the same conferences, workshops and talks. Such that they get to know each other quite intimately.
Also, yes there are very good machine learning scientists in the USA. However, they are not the best in the field. Some of the greatest minds in the (((community))) are not American. One of the most famous is Iranian: Zoubin Ghahramani. The other is French: Yann LeCun.
There is Jeff Hawkins and Michael I Jordan who is American. But, I am sure they would agree that Iranian computer scientists are indispensable considering the ethnic make up of their research labs.
My problem is with banning all people from a country. It's a stupid move on our part. Why ban EVERYONE. That is why we have a vetting process. That is why we have preferred professions which we need which grant automatic PR.

Also consider the quality of their degrees - we had a syrian Dr. for mathematics trying to apply for a job in germany (he couldn't speak german at all), and it turned out he simply wasn't on par with what we would expect from someone with such an academic degree.
