(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline.

It is allowed under United States law.

So how did he determine which countries should have a travel ban?

Because a sovereign country has the right to decide who comes in.

I hate Serbia so much

1. Be muslim / arab
2. Dont sell oil to usa or in dollars
3. ????
4. Profit

He used the ones obama singled out for being dangerous.

It seemed fine when obongo, bush, clinton etc did it

Presumably on the basis of intelligence reports which dictate where a certain percentage of known terrorist cells exist, combined with a diplomatic relationship with which such a ban wouldn't cause too much trouble (e.g., Saudi Arabia).

Believe me, serbs hate you more than you can imagine hating

Why it shouldn't be okay

America is a free and sovereign country which has the right to decide who can enter or not on its soil

Non citizens don't have rights while they are in another Country.

It's funny as hell. I work at a university and they're all flipping their shit even harder than they were when Trump won because he pullled this moratorium right when half the foreigners were on vacation at home and now it's going to take months for them to figure out how to get back.

lol

If you wage war with a country, as the U.S. has in these instances, you do not want to be letting in anybody from those nations.

That would be fucking stupid.

By the way, Obama did it, too. So did Bush.

So did many.

It's retarded but it's good because it pisses off normies

Obama had previously singled them out as dangerous and noncompliant in assisting with background checks.

Can some one give me one fucking reason why I'd want Muslims in my country?

Basically every country in the middle east has a ban on Israeli's entering but you don't hear shit about that.
Fuck leftists.

Good share user

This.

Basically watch: youtube.com/watch?v=ri-qzCqd5OM

for a condensed version of what it's about and why people freaking out about it are wrong.

Thank you for being reasonable

There are none,really

ty brit

This is probably the most correct situation, that coupled with the ability to use Obamas designation of dangerous countries. The latter part is "politically incorrect" to talk about for some reason. While we SHOULD ban SA as well, it would be a complete shitshow compared to banning a country like Syria

I don't really care

>Trump immigration ban
>lefty msm and its pets freak out
>Trump accuses msm of censoring terrorism events
>msm tries to one up turmp by reporting and publishing about the many many many terrorism events that has happened in a short span
>implicitly justified Trump's immigration ban and reinforced the American's disdain of pigslamic terrorism

Trump played them like a damn fiddle.

You're making me want to enjoy my car more often, since that's where I listen to NPR. Last time I had it on it was basically three people sitting around kvetching and trying to game out how to get the better of Trump again.

They just don't know what to do. Even at work yesterday I walked by some women having lunch and they where complaining that they just can't take it anymore. Seems they're tired of all this winning already.

I listen to NPR pretty much all day everyday at work and I don't think they're too bad. Some shows are worse than others. Still gonna give 1A some time before forming an opinion of the new host. Car Talk is still the best radio show on air even though they're all reruns now.

Yeah, but it's sad the new guard isn't as good as the old guard. I have to give credit to dying rheme for instance, but she's gone now.

I don't even have much good to say about Plebbitplace, but credit goes to Kai for being reasonably even-handed in his political commentary trying to keep it real about what the future might hold.

if it requires US employers to favor citizens over h1b visas, then i'm all for it. this will encourage higher wages and a more highly skilled workforce.

although i don't understand why he had to attach the h1b issue to the muslim ban, although i'm sure they had some reason. it seems like most people would approve of the former more than the latter

also, a 90 day ban is basically ineffectual. what's the point if it only lasts three months?

this gets more confusing the more i read into it.

Except Obama's ban wasn't blanket, they just stopped issuing new visas.

is it to set a precedent? is it just a token gesture to fulfill his campaign promises?

seriously? we have laws. We let immigrants in when they file the paperwork and pay the fees. Mexicans hop the boarder, get paid tax free and demand public services those taxes pay for, IE police, fire protection, healthcare and education. . .to name a few.

The ban is not about immigration, it's about keeping people who are from nations identified as sponsering terror out.

why is this mentioned as an immigration ban or a Muslim ban? because the establishment is scared and mad, they use the media to lie to the ham and eggers.

The thing is under the current H1B system we very often export our education system (one of our best exports these days, since muh service sector) to foreigners and then they take those skills back home and get successful in 3rd world countries on the backs of our domestic population becoming debt slaves, while at the same time using H1B as part of the way to flood in the 3rd world and further destroy the domestic job market.

So what you'd want to do instead is use H1B to attract the best and brightest from around the world and then keep them here as an investment in domestic prosperity, and not have every university turn its local city into what looks about like Dubai or something.

i agree. but this part hardly ever gets discussed. the muslim ban is in the spotlight, and i think it takes focus away from the more important point that you made. wouldn't it be better if this was not attached to a muslim ban?

There is no ban on muslims. There's a moratorium and interview process based on nationality.

IT'S OKAY WHEN OBAMA DOES IT
BUT THIS IS TRUMP REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

you're missing my point and proving it at the same time. it has turned into a frivolous semantics argument, when the h1b issue is more important.

It's not frivolous at all. If you want to blame somebody for the argument going off track, blame the lying media for promoting the idea that there's a muslim ban to get people all upset about their precious new world order having to adapt to reality instead of driving a useful conversation.

Fucked a Arab once. 3rd best pussy I've done.

Whats wrong with not letting someone in your country tho?
Your country, your rules.

congress has complete authority over who can come into this country, they have elected to bestow this authority to the president so that he can make decisions pertaining to national security.

Trump making the call that immigration from certain countries should be paused to enforce national security is completely constitutional, the fact that the "so called" seattle judge can override this is outrageous.

the fact that trump's decree included green card and dual citizens is a low blow, it will cost him. stopping people that were in transit is bad pr at best and idiotic at worst, glad they did not leave them linger in limbo.

obviously all but USA

Because any sovereign nation can make its own laws about who or who not gets to enter said sovereign nation.

Trump's style is to barge in unexpectedly and then back track to a more negotiable position. For instance he did intimate a muslim ban in his initial announcement about it which even I found shocking.

So one can hope that the significant backlash will lead to him loosening up toward practicality. This could very well just be legal cover for some imperative behind the scenes. The government is always playing shady tricks.

from wikipedia
>The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States

but now all we hear are the media and celebrities waxing poetic about immigration. i don't understand.

That's how the media and pedo-controlled celebritywood works. Check out Operation Mockingbird.

CIA Director George HW Bush said they were going to end it. But what he really meant is that it was voluntary. So then go look up Mr. America Walter Cronkite accepting a global socialism award (complete with guest appearance by Hillary Clinton) because he voluntarily believed in globalism and did it for free.

Immigrating to America is not a human right.

Because the Legislative branch of govt has conferred this power to the Executive branch.

That's why. Still confused?

The banned nations are openly hostile to the US and/or are filled with filthy 3rd World refugees who will not adopt American values.

Because non-citizens are not entitled to the same rights as citizens. Non citizens were never granted the right to come to the US whenever they want. That would be very stupid- but a "borderless world" has been pushed as some moral virtue by liberals for decades. I can't move to Russia, China, or Saudi Arabia tomorrow, so why should we grant free access to our country? Tax dollars and extraordinary labor have built our nation from a wilderness into a great place to live. Why should we give access to our social system to people who have never contributed in the slightest- and who might actually want to destroy it? Why should any foreigner benefit from the United States when our own citizens still live in poverty, lack health care, and are in danger of crime? We should help Americans first. Liberals who give money to foreign countries or invite foreigners to take our opportunities ignore Americans stuck in a cycle of misery- including the black and hispanic Americans that they pretend to care about.

They advocate literally hugging armed robbers and blame victims for terrorist attacks in Europe. They couldn't possibly be more out of touch.

Don't forget the time they issued "no rape pls" bracelets in Sweden. Fortunately that happened when I was visiting family so I could read aloud the news to them.

They had absolutely no idea there was even any kind of a problem, let alone one that causes people to have to come up with an idea like "no rape pls" bracelets. And then I showed them the "how to have sex with german women" manuals.

Can I sleep in your bed tonight?

The whole point was to halt all immigration from these places while we revamp the vetting process. Then once we ensure all refugees/immigrants can be vetted properly, immigration can resume.

H1B is actually the low level visa. Therea re higher ones like I believe O and C class meant for actual brain drain as you describe

H1B is literally for slave labor scabs

I think the original process was "until [they] can figure out what the hell is going on." The man's got a way with words.

Incidentally, it was FBI Director James Comey who famously had testified that they were not able to vet them. It'll be interesting to see if this plot point gets worked back in.

No wonder my world-class university looks like an ant hill and keeps rattling on about H1B and hosting cry-ins.

Yes, as long as you're female and cute.

He didn't. Obama did.
