what other reason could there be? Considering how assads government has been handing out amnesty like candy to surrendering militants in some cases i'd assume that the people that got the bullet were suspected of being irredemable. Either because of their ideology or the position they were suspected to have.
The lower end of the guess amnesty put out was somewhere slightly above 5000 if i remember correctly, and if past incidents in conflicts like that thought us anything its that the real numbers are probably somwhere around the lower end of the estimate.

He probably gets rid of prisoners of war, criminals (I doubt the syrian state has enough money to feed long time prisoners). I don't remember when, but not long before the war there was an islamists led prisoner revolt in the there that ended up with security forces using live fire to take back some sections that had been taken over by the prisoners. after negotiations with the revolt's leaders things went back to normal. Those leaders then went on to form their own rebel factions after they were granted amnesty in 2011/2012. I think because of that, security forces now tend to execute captured rebels out of fear of them being released later. So yes, I do believe that there are executions going on in sidnaya but I also believe that the numbers are probably exaggerated and that those killed are by no means innocent bleeding heart liberals who just wanted to bring democracy and human rights to Syria.

In army they teach us about internal parts of all current MBTs NATO and Russian ones. For example, talking about some A1M2 in front projection it would be retarded to fire in turret, bcuz most weak part is right under the gun.
In Syria they shooting in "silhouette", like "spray and pray". Absolutely retarded positions for firing, wasting a lot of missiles, etc.

Also i think the reason we see/saw so much footage of rebels wasting ATGMs is that they don't have to care about resupply. Obviously they aren't trained well in their usage but in addition to them i didn't matter if they took out a tank with it or killed a foot soldier and wounded 3 others in the group. As soon as the video got uploaded the moderates got a new one from the gulf arabs/uncle sam.
Also they have little other options. Using artillery is harder, and you can't haul large artillery pieces around that easily. So they use what they got, the ATGM as dumb mans mortar.
