Congressman Jason Chaffetz BTFO by little girl

He couldn't even answer two simple questions, and was then booed. #Not/ourguy/

>One hour into a loud, contentious town hall meeting in his home state of Utah, Congressman Jason Chaffetz was asked two simple questions by a young girl named Hannah Bradshaw. The first was about the environment: “What are you doing to help protect our water and air for our generations and my kids’ generations?” The second was just a bit more broad: “Do you believe in science?”

>So it’s not surprising that, instead of saying anything remotely resembling the words “I believe in science,” Chaffetz deflected hard enough to cause whiplash. Luckily, the crowd wasn’t having it. One woman in particular can be heard loudly repeating the words “ANSWER THE QUESTION,” and so Chaffetz was goaded into responding to Bradshaw.

>Chaffetz started with an empty statement that only a career politician could think would play well in front of a high school auditorium packed to the brim with frothing citizens: “What is thrown into our air, what is thrown into our water, obviously has an effect on our environment.” He was then met with a holy chorus of boos when he said he supported an “all of the above energy strategy” that includes coal as “an important part of that future.”

American politics really are a farce arent they?

>“Do you believe in science?”
Well, do you?

Yes

>Do you believe in Science
Fuck off.

youtube.com/watch?v=3z-a5hy7QO8

>not your average town hall meeting

Actually paid shills disrupting meetigs with nonsense is pretty common.

Yes, but I don't think they are much better, if at all, in most other western countries.

Aren't you guys busy dredging shipping channels through the great barrier reef for the coal companies?

What are stunts children are put up to by their liberal cunt parents?

Yes unfortunately.

>muh coal
>muh poor coal miners

I believe in nothing, I am biased towards science. Environmental science is almost entirely co-opted by Marxists (look at every green party ever) as such I believe in none of its findings unless proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.
However, all I said could be taken vastly out of context and as such I would never say it as a politician.

the best retort would have been "what are you doing?"

Wow you mean Democrats packed paid shills to protest at a Republican town hall? I'm shocked. I hope none of these congressmen are dumped into believing these are the voices of their voters they aren't. These are the voices of the losers that didn't vote for him.

>do you believe in science?
are they admitting climate change is a religion?

Holy shit can you imagine the face of that child's handlers?

"Do you believe in science"

Kek and Fedora's still think they aren't following a religion.

Kek except their god is elon musk now or something

>Mom! Dad! I'm a pawn for your political ideology that failed miserably

You think having clean water and air is nonsense? Moreover, why did he chicken out and not give a direct answer?

>give little girl some candy to ask nonsensical question
>give parents a 100 dollar bill each to boo and chant
>mfw the politician stumbles over the nonsensical question
>mfw the media gobbles up "do you believe in science?"
>mfw my shill goes onto /pol and shills his hardest without being cau- oops

>Do you believe in science?

Science is a faith now?

Do you still beat your wife?

>liberal cunt tries to set you up for a gotcha
>giving her what she wants instead of ignoring her

Libshits aren't entitled to serious answers if they don't intend to debate in good faith.

She'll be a coal burner in a few years

>>mfw the politician stumbles over the nonsensical question
So clean water and air is nonsense?

>politicians avoiding loaded questions that they know will open a can of worms and criticisms by virtue of related follow-up questions

Why is it that Republicans are the ones who are primarily criticized for this understandable behavior, when both parties do it?

>"do you believe in science"
What the fuck do you think that even fucking means you illogical nitwits?
Science is a *METHODOLOGY* for *CHRIST'S SAKE*.
It's like asking "do you believe in weight training", except you don't understand that because you don't treat science as a methodology - you treat it as a fucking religion.

Fuck you shallow thinking unintelligent collectivist hero-worshipping Borg freaks.

Although the scientific community disagrees often, i tend to believe studies if they're peer reviewed and the study results can be replicated.

> Do you believe in Science?
> Have you accepted Michael Mann into your heart as your one true savior?
> Do you swear to live your life in accordance with the Commandments of the IPCC?
> Do you believe that man was cast out of the pre-1930's Eden for the sin of Industry?
> Do you hearby renounce your sinful Capitalist ways and truly repentant of them?
> Do you give your life over to Gaia?

>“Do you believe in science?”
So science is a religion now?

1. She was not my wife. 2. She was totally into it.

>(((Jason Chaffetz)))

Coincidence detector, yo.

I might very well be retarded but what did he say that was so outrageous ?

>deseretnews.com/article/865673092/Chaffetz-Raucous-reaction-at-town-hall-meeting-bullying-and-intimidation.html

THEM were all PAID PROTESTERS, come FROM OUTER SPACE (eh sorry, STATE) to BULLY and INTIMIDATE that POOR CONGRESSMAN.

ESPECIALLY that LITTEL CUTE TEN YEAR OLD, thats a WELL KNOWN democratic INTIMIDATION and TORTURE ROUTINE simply to MAKE REPUBLICANS LOOK LIKE CLUELESS ARSEHOLES who get UTTERLY BTFO from LITTUL GURLS, BECAUSE DONALD j. TRUMP.

This is my favorite response to these kinds of questions. So beautiful, user.

the nonsensical question is "Do you believe in science?" Have you never been so taken aback that you stumble for the next few moments because of the sheer scale of the idiocy at play? Oh, no you just shill.

Probably nothing.
If you don't immediately assuage to the whims of the scientism Borg they'll pretend you're literally Hitler and that you want to slaughter children with your bare hands.

I do believe in science, but I do not blindly believe leftist scientists.

This is like a real world equivalent of the tumblr transnigger comic.

The girl was told by mommy to ask the congressman a trap question and he thoughtfully brushed it off. People flip shit because he ignored a kid. Blame the parents for putting the kid in that fucking situation, not the congressman for handling it like a congressman should.

You forgot: THEY PUT THEM ON BUSES AND TRANSPORTED THEM FROM OUT OF STATE

Define science.

The same reason why when Bush goes to war in the Middle East, it's dirty republicans, but when FDR/Harry Truman and Obama bomb the shit out of Japan/The Middle East, its "America's" fault, or somehow still filthy Republicans.

Chaffetz did screw up with HR. 621, the hell did he think would happen if he tried to sell of 3.1 million acres based on 20 year old wilderness criteria Come on man.

You don't need faith/belief in science because it's demonstrable.

I hate the sub educated who are adding the same mental traps they imposed upon God that they are doing to science.

Give it a few generations and these assholes will end up worshiping a picture of Black Science Man, an atomic bomb, and a malevolent AI. instead of the holy trinity and end having the exact same results as the last dark age.

>Jason Chaffetz
kek this guys is a fucking meme just look at this retarded beaner face

>CNN: Republican congressman got no idea what science is! Request help from ten year old girl!

Secret Agenda Revealed

>(((Elite & Soros))) fund & lobby politician goys
>Politician goys enforce muh environment
>It seeps into educational propaganda, (((media))) propaganda, and every other faucet
>Legislatives are made through many different areas, EPA being the biggest disease
>Destroy coal industry which has lasted for more than hundreds of years, in just 4 years, making up rules to destroy business under nignog obama
>Lots of environmental drones are born
Timeline to meme-verse prevented the clinton hell timeline which would have continued this way
>Coal industry goes out, and other energy sectors
>Forced to subsidize shitty (((green energy)))
>America suffer great energy crisis (as planned with hegalian dialect)
>Soros buys up coal industry for cheap
>"Oy vey goys! I guess the government have to step in to pay the energy bill"
>Entire energy sector becomes socialised/communism, as planned
>Government pays Soros & gang for energy
>"Oy vey goys! Dont forget to pay the Co2 taxes for simply existing!"

TL:DR libtards need to die

...

Science isn't something you "believe".

Not a beaner. Look at his face more closely. (((Chaffetz)))

I see.

Yeah fuck all those people and everything, but how many of them are gay enough to tripfag? I would rather hang around with a bunch of retard libs than you tbqh

Yeah a better questions would be:
Do you believe in making decisions based on data collected by an impartial party with no conflict of interest who have studied the subject more than you have?
Or do you base all your decisions on what the jews tells you?

Obviously the shill is the congressman if he can't answer a simple question.

>t. science denialist

Enjoy your stay in tolerancecamp

absolutely they are. A simple distraction as well.

>Give it a few generations and these assholes will end up worshiping a picture of Black Science Man

The girl did have a valid question regarding clean water and air though.

neat

>town hall

0.0% of these plants are Utah residents.

"your mormon papers please, balloon girl. oh, you have none? get the fuck out of here, commie leaf faggot."

As somebody that has studied biology for 8 years, my answer to that is "no." I don't believe in science.

>0.0% of these plants are Utah residents.
You got any proof to back up that claim?

I like how they left out whatever his answer was that he deflected so hard with. Also using your kid for your political bullshit should be a crime.

No shit hes not our guy. He dropped trump like a fucking coward after the pussy thing.

Science is not to be believed. It is to be understood.

>“What are you doing to help protect our water and air for our generations and my kids’ generations?”

Want to know why he avoided it? Because there are no bills by him, no signatures by him, on a single piece of environmental protection legislation. In his role as a congressman he has done NOTHING that would warrant a positive answer to this question.

If everyone believed in Science we would still think the sun circles around the earth. The entire point of it is to question everything.

>le do u believe in science XDDdd *holds up spork*
>UPBOTED! LOLOL THX 4 GOLD GUIZE XDDD
>GET IT BECAUSE IM SMART ROFL

I don't mind being the boogie man of idiots. It's like, Canada's up there with Australia you know? Triggering Americans 4 life

...

Yes I pray to him every night

>plants

>Do you believe in science? 97% of all scientist believe x. Do you believe in science?

You'd expect that people know that it isn't scientific believing in science/scientists. You believe in gods or luck.

Liberals think of every Republican voter as evil rich people or their stupid redneck voters. They see themselves as enlightened modern people. In the end most people are plain stupid. Too stupid to realize it. I know that I am stupid. Don't kid yourself. You aren't special either. When I look at the the collective stupdity of the world's population, I don't know if I can defend democracy.

That town hall meeting was so disgusting, and shows exactly why Washington is as shit as it is.

Jason Chaffetz is the. most. bipartisian. senator. Full stop. And here you have a whole crowd of students shouting over this guy because he said he voted Trump. Chaffetz is one of the few good Senators in Congress who actually breaks party lines to vote for shit that really benefits the middle class.

The incalculable amount of variables which factor into climate are impossible for us to comprehend much less measure, disseminate and discern each influence with every other corresponding variable affected. It is closer to chaos than picking out a handful of environmental flags and stating such a blanket explanation as fact.

Even the simplest of processes become near chaotic when examined in ever increasingly smaller scale much less planetary. Improvements in data collection with disregard to localized environmental and topographic variables (changed or underreported), coupled with the sheer amount of data collected for comparison antiquates previous data in scope and methodology.

Climatology is political party, which explains the wildly unreasonable reaction to qualified dissension in peer review, refusal of data sharing and dismissal of the need for reproduction when errors and falsifications are present. If it had remained in the scientific realm, it would still be called Meteorology. That every climatologist concurs, what they were taught and are now teaching is fact, means nothing. Experimenter bias can be attributed to much more than a salary in the prestige of fronting humanity saving research in our dire final hour, receiving awards and accolades and earning a prominent place in the regulatory behemoth established to counter the contrived results before they show no fruition. It might just focus data gathering at predetermined locations of concentrated production of the conformational data required.

A better question would have been eschewing the bait and going directly to the environmental question instead of purposefully loading it. Humans are going to focus on the nonsensical question over the legitimate one, especially when they're in close proximity to each other, because that's how we work (mostly). Science is not a belief system, it's a methodology to produce repeatable results. Do you believe that subjecting water to temperatures above 212F or below 32F will cause it to change state, no you know this. If the question was aimed at things you can believe in science then it should have been along the lines of "Do you believe that science is as impartial and abstained from party politics as possible?" or "Do you believe that scientists can be bought?" or even "Do you believe that there are flaws in the current scientific methodology?" instead we got the equivalent of "Do you believe in colors?"
The shills are the ones creating the sensationalist headlines and skewing news instead of "Girl asks funny question, gets funny answer."

I don't see what's wrong with Chaffetz. Republicans aren't going to reduce the EPA until we're China-tier. It's pretty obvious that you shouldn't dump chemicals into rivers, etc., and nobody is arguing that. What we're fighting is the excessive, often baseless, regulation of industries by idiotic leftist bureaucrats - who often do it just to get popular with their hippy base. There is also a real push by leftist/communist types to use "environmental protection" legislation as a weapon to attack capitalism, and to grow the size/power of government for their own gain.

Many leftists have the childish notion that we can just abandon coal and oil immediately and everything will be okay. It won't.

It is literally impossible to power the entire US with just windmills and solar panels. Coal and oil is an integral part of our energy plan. The coal and oil industries are also integral to the structure of the economy, and the stock market.

It is better for us to start using our own coal and oil, instead of relying on the Saudis, Chinese, or other foreigners. There is a huge oil reserve in Western Texas that was discovered recently, it's said to have more oil than Saudi Arabia; and hopefully Rick Perry and Rex Tillerson will help us put it to good use.

The only real viable endgame would be to use thorium reactors, but greenfags and Democrats hate nuclear and keep cucking it with legislation. The Democrats in Nevada kept bitching about Yucca Mountain, because apparently putting nuclear waste in a sealed bunker in the middle of a desert wasteland is somehow hurting their environment to a serious degree, and now nuclear power plant construction has stalled.

Pic related, Warren Buffet pays Democrats billions to block pipeline construction, because he gets billions per year by hauling oil on his trains and trucks. Pipelines are safer, more reliant, and more efficient, than trains and trucks.

The embedded politics are on display when all importance is placed on halting progress and limiting freedoms instead of countering the perceived effects through their own means of collection, disposal, or production of whatever they imagine will balance things out.

If man's influence on climate change was correctly represented as a hypothesis, it would not currently be the basis for the regulatory systems being devised, causing apoplectic opposition to the devastating economic ramifications and repression of civil liberties. Then research with the removal of politics being of foremost prominence in the exclusion of experimental bias would ensure the integrity of the studies and true consensus can be found.

>Canada's up there with Australia
Someone got an ego boost. I'm guessing Tyrone let you watch last night and didn't even beat you up afterwards?

who's got her nudes?

>he said he supported an “all of the above energy strategy” that includes coal as “an important part of that future.”
there's literally nothing wrong with that, although i wish nuclear energy was more popular

>“Do you believe in science?”
fuck off, it's not something you should take at face value, there's a lot of bogus research, you should question everything

>him
Ugh, I can't even... Just go educate yourself okay?

>do you believe in science?

no and you shouldn't either little brainlet

EXAMINE FORMAL CAUSES

No we're talking about this particular townhall. Do you have any evidence from credible sources that would suggest that a 10-year old girl conspired with someone from out of state, or is an out of state resident?

no. science isnt the answer for everything

isnt this the same guy who wants to sell 3 million acres of public land?

This. Even the new atheists, science zealots are not as intelligent as older atheists/ skeptics. They have such a shallow understanding of philosophy and how it relates to understanding science as an intellectual framework, that they come off as very ignorant.

>Jason Chaffetz is the. most. bipartisian. senator
>senator

He is not a senator. Turn off your fox news and get educated please. This is an international chinese fishing with birds technique image board and you are making your fellow Americans look bad.

That's rather broad so let me instead break that down into more specific questions.
>Do I believe that science exists?
Yes, it's a discipline based around forming and then testing predictions about the natural world.
>Do I believe that the scientific method is the best way to learn about the natural world?
Yes, I do.
>Do I blindly believe every word which comes out of the mouth of someone who calls themselves an expert?
No, I do not. Scientists are people just like you or me, they make mistakes. They also have biases and their own interests. For instance, in the hypothetical situation that global warming was found to be a non-issue, many climatologists would lose their jobs, large industries built around renewable energy (solar, wind, large parts of the EPA) would vanish overnight.

Do you believe in science?
Do you know how it is
When false climate data is consensus biz?

Do you know how it feels?
When medical doctors stick your boy in high heels?

science on every subject changes every decade. Believing blindly into what they say is stupid

Well said.

Someone fed this girl those questions.

I can't fucking stand it when parents use their kids as pawns. It's mostly to get pats on the back for raising such "smart" kids, when all their little shit is doing is parroting.

I don't even know what that means

Science is a continuous process of testing theories using empirical data to attempt to accurately predict reality. New research updates and invalidates old research all the time. To say that "science" is accurate is just wrong. Science isn't "true", science just "works" pragmatically. The way she phrases the question makes it seem like science is this religious thing that you must "believe" in in a faith-based sense. Seems like she's being indoctrinated pretty hard into the cult of black science redditor.

What is climate science and theoretic physics?

half the country believes more in family and christian values than in science. science is nice, but it doesn't fill your heart.

What the fuck does "Do you believe in science?" even mean?

>has never been to utah

fuck off, faggot.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=F_tQD64_3W8

Pic related, the new huge Texas oil reserve that was discovered.

link:
cnn.com/2016/11/17/us/midland-texas-mammoth-oil-discovery/

I see science just as a framework to understand the natural world. In that the facts can change at any moment and you can apply the framework of science onto that fact pattern to most accurately describe what is happening in the natural world.
