Under no scenario is there any advantage at all for Trump to release them, and not releasing them helps in his quest to goad the media into self destruction.

Part of Obama's policy was to raise taxes in the US, part of Trump's policy is to lower them tremendously. Obama has no excuse for not paying his taxes when it comes to comparison with his policy while Trump can at least claim he wasn't paying them because they were too high under Obama.
