My family moved near here in the same year as pic related. I loved growing up here.

I started hanging out in this grubby fishing village in 1990, and I fell in love with it. Moved here for real in '96.

Today, I realized I have to go. This once-awesome city is full of cold weird people, tech autists, overpriced everything, and a psycho city council determined to make it a pure California-style liberal dystopia.

Don't know where and when the wife and I are going. When the kids are a little older. But it's happening.

If your once awesome home was fucked up by idiot liberals and/or big tech money, please feel free to vent.

Kingdome was a great stadium. They were greedy fucks to get rid of it. It took two tries with dynamite to make it collapse. Thing could have stood for 1000 years.

Loudest venue

What are you talking about? It looks like it's ready fall in this photo and a prison.

What the fuck is wrong with Seattle people?

Montreal.

;_;

I know what you mean I went to Seattle U early 2000''s good times hamburgers at dicks on capital hill... late nights but it's changed so bad. Everyone is so "triggered" now they don't even want to have fun they'd rather be outraged than have fun

When it explodes.

It was the largest unsupported domed concrete structure in the world i believe......only lasted about 25 years before ceiling tiles started to fall.

They had indoor fireworks

They say The Who played so loud that the concrete cracked in some spots.

peninsula is trump country and full of innawoods majesty.

been thinking of selling my house, moving out to mason county, buying 40 acres and a manufactured home to put on it.

Get a lot with a hill, build an "Earthship" into the southern side of the hill.

OP here. Yeah, that's where I grew up. Well, Silverdale, before it became strip mall hell. One of the areas we'll be looking at hard. It'd be so fucked up/awesome if after all these years I just ended up moving back to Poulsbo.

Might as well call it /seag/ - Seattle General thread, we have one every night.

Don't go, OP. Shit is about to get interesting.
Yes, this place is going to be a major cancer (New York Alki indeed) , but if you've been here since 1976, you might be very well positioned to be at the top of the shitheap, and eventually, be of influence to take it down.

I am sure you have a nice place in, like Magnolia, or something. I hope the kids are redpilled enough, I am about to raise kids here as well, and it ain't easy. But might as well ride the tiger. Emerald city is going to be big and gross real soon

I had a piece of the King Dome in a ziplock bag for a while when I was younger. Now I just have to drive by the Tacoma Dome through all that fucking traffic every day.

I can almost hear the sad grunge music

shit, fucked up the link, fuck. here's your You, op.

I grew up in a small town about 20 miles from Mt. Rainier National Park.

Watched the surrounding cities change so rapidly and the population boom soo fast within 20 years!

I live in Tacoma now but this whole region is going to rat shit, and fast at that!

>population explosion
>too many homes
>everything is cramped
>rent and home prices is rising every month
>dinosaur freeways from the early 60s
>lanes only get added thru hooked nosed kike deals at the tax payers expense AND public expense OPENLY
>every single road is washboarded with 4 foot pot holes everywhere
>bums fucking everywhere EVERYWHERE
>beggers everywhere, hey man buy me gas
>retail and big box up the ass
>1 hour to go 9 miles

I've been saving for 6 months trying to get out of here. Fuck this nature and solitude isn't worth it.

OP again. We sent our kids to Catholic school. There's a lot of good ones in Seattle, and its made a world of difference.

Our friends' kids are so fucked up. A bunch of rainbow haired, genderfluid disappointments. God it bums me out. Those poor kids. They could have used, you know, parents.

We're in Ballard, which was once full of awesome old cranky swedes and dockworkers. Now it's methheads and million dollar houses. But people are getting pissed. Next city council election, I'm going to spend some time and money trying to get someone non-idiot in there.

Quit being a faggot. I have been all over this god damn country. I just got back from a trip through the southwest.
Do you know how great western Washington is compared to most of the other states?

Why don't you try going to some shit hole like Utah, any Dakota, Oklahoma, Missouri, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Idaho, Arkansas, New York, West Virginia, Iowa, Nebraska, Florida, Kentucky, or Kansas. Because all of those places are wastelands or insufferable.

You have a fat pussy and should fucking kill yourself.

>google images Nebraska
>it shows only maps and no photos

hmmm

Yeah, I drove through that state. It sucks so bad, my mind washed it out and I remember nothing of driving through it.
I thought I did, but I was just remembering South Dakota. Or, the better Dakota.

Ballard is good..good to hear, and sorry about your friends' kids. This is one reason why I am ok with DeVos - the education system is cucked to hell, and I don't think there is turning it around. These things are determined not only by the PTA, but also by the teachers, who are all, unsurprising ly, women (and it's conservatives' fault - it pays like shit).

On the local level, a well organized minority/plurality can really make a huge difference. There needs to be an "informal", "private" setting of organizers, thoroughly vetted, of course.

Look at this special snowflake that needs a safe space away from legal weed and nerds oh boo hoo!

Yes the midwest is terrible. Stay in California. Don't move here.

it hurts me to say this but i might leave Seattle for somewhere around oregon

It has "the sandhills," which are very strange but beautiful and lonely landscape full of migratory birds and small lakes/

Portland, Oregon used to be a bit of a "gritty" blue-collar city. It had bums and a bit of crime, but it was a good place for average white working men to find jobs and buy an affordable home and live a decent life.

Starting around the mid-90's, the city became trendy with Gen-X'ers and proto-hipsters and gradually changed.

Old-school industries like logging and the dockyards closed up shop in town; bums and various hipster degenerates flooded into town from all over the country. Real estate prices exploded. It's no longer a blue-collar paradise, although it remains about 75% white.

I've lived here since 2000 and can't believe how insanely expensive housing has become in that short period.

I think it's funny that half the duwamish tribe is blond haired, blue eyed and named Nelson.

anyway, the catholic schools in seattle are great. the education is OK (leagues better than the shitshow that is Seattle School District's middle school system) but the part I like most is knowing like half the city personally (at least, half of the actual seattleites) the wierd part is that it sticks with you after you leave seattle, and if you meet another person from seattle chances are you know someone in common. for a city of 3.5 million people (metro) it's really like a small town.

When you get older you see it's true, where ever you see diversity the city, town whatever goes to shit. When the white majority drops under 85% you got major problems my friend

Isn't Seattle the city who elected a socialist to their own city council? wtf

Do i count for almost whole europe?

The first thing liberals do is halt all construction on new housing because of the squirrels and fishes and shit. This causes a massive housing bubble where only well paid high tech people can live. Eventually the bubble gets so out of control nobody who isn't making $100k/year can live there anymore and things start to implode.

If you don't fight the anti-housing liberal faggots at the start you are doomed. If you are working class just move immediately. If you are rich sell you house at the top of the bubble and move.

Yep. Kshama Sawant. She's great.

Vancouver

Worst part is it wasn't even the government here that shafted us but the crooked Chinese owned federal government 2000km away who decided that we of all places should be the money laundry for their new chink "partners"

We still have a chance at salvation but i see no way of doing it other than BC declaring independence from Canada

I wish I could go back to the 1860s and tell the people then exactly how much of a mistake they'd be making joining Canada

They demolished the stadium before taxpayers were done paying it off

And now Vancouver has sent the Chinese real estate investors flocking to Seattle's market.

They tore down the Omni in Atlanta, McNichols in Denver, Market Square Arena in Indiana, and a few others around that same time, 1999-2000. That's when they replaced the comfy cities that used to exist with the new liberal shittyscapes.

i'm 30 and white and i grew up in seattle and have lived here most of my adult life

fuck leaving, i love this city and i refuse to leave just because theyre trying to faggify the city that i love. there are plenty of other normal white people here who are just waiting and desperately hoping for enough other normal white people to step up and take a stand against degeneracy here. there is some serious hidden resentment building up against the socialist bullshit, the forced diversity, the awful urban planning, etc. i think that things here are going to start taking a turn for the better pretty soon
