Flynn was not forced out. He resigned. Even Pence wanted him to stay, but he said he was too much of a liability. Trump only let him resign on the condition he still works behind the scenes. No idea what his new position is but it will be something that requires high security clearance to even know about.
He resigned this afternoon, but it was announced now because Trump wanted to have his replacement before announcing.
As for who the mole is, it's Reince. Everyone in the WH knows it. Trump has been letting him leak shit for a while for some reason (Bannon's the only one who can really follow the President's line of thinking). He may be removed in the next few weeks, but one theory is that he's actually a double agent giving Trump the inside info on Ryan and the Neocons and the leaks are to keep them from getting suspicious.
