It drives down prices of places that pay min wage, including gas and groceries. It stops people from being payed more than the value they produce per hour. I'm sure someone else will explain better. I'm pooping at work.

The true minimum wage will always be $0

It's idealistic trash to either have no minimum wage OR an unrealistically high minimum wage.

Libertarians, ancaps, communists, and socialists are all special snowflakes who like to pretend they know what is best.

forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2016/05/09/donald-trumps-excellent-economic-idea-abolish-the-federal-minimum-wage/ It's just what I dug up there, but it's a start. Someone else do the red pilling

Unless like us Britfags Sug, the Americans have a minimum wage that is the standard for all ages. While we have a limit on what say a sixteen year old can earn like £4 an hour or something, the Americans have to pay that sixteen year old the same wage as a thirty year old with possibly a home to run the same minimum wage

>Jobs are paid according to how much revenue they generate.jpg

Marxist detected.

No, but they're definitely not paid more than the revenue they generate.
>Marxist
>arguing for a lower minimum wage
"no"

Having no minimum wage means that you'll get tons of shitty people getting jobs. Having a high minimum mage means you'll have no people getting jobs.

Is that the literal base minimum wage? Or is it specific to some brance of employment or career? Over here, when a chef starts of in a restaurant with no experience they can legally be paid like €7 but the min wage is €9.15. Shitty fucking euros. I wish Britain and Ireland just crashed into each other and start a mini exclusive Europe, the sesh would be class

Because else you get paid 0.5 pounds as salary. I don't know what's hard to understand here.

If it would be limited to persons whoes great grand parents have been Christians, lived since 5 generations north of the 45th parallel north and at least 3 Generations in the country, and if you have high quotas of around 60% of such person for EVERY business, and would forbid everyone whoes ancestors came from south of the 45th parallel north, it would be a great thing. Else, why not just kill ALL muslim, destroy the labour force, make it expansive and let all the small corrupt businesses die.

there is literally no reason against a minimum wage.

The introduction of the minimum wage in Germany showed that there no actual negative economic consequences for employers, and poor people profit from minimum wage as well.

Hon, in my country the government knows that sixteen year olds working part time in Tescos only wants pocket money. Someone who's thirty odd working in Tescos wants to support the family. By lowering the minimum wage for kids it's more likely they'd be hired, thus giving them a shot at job experiences.

25 and Over - £7.20
21 - 24 - £6.94
18 - 20 - £5.55
Under 18 - £4.00
Apprentice - £3.40

It's all fine and dandy until your job gets handed to an illegal or to a country with worse wages.

The minimum wage predominantly affects the service sector, you literally cannot outsource the job of a waitress...

Also, illegals would still have to apply for a work permit, which in Germany they can only attain after a multiyear long bureaucratic clusterfuck, while also having to provide proof of being able to properly speak German. So again, that is not possible.

I actually support minimum wage, and I am a white nationalist.

Why? Because no minimum wage is giving the employer an option to create meme jobs like the theatre paying someone just to hold doors during plays instead of letting a full-time worker perform these tasks. This results in 10 people being paid 1 dollar each, instead of one people earning 1 person being paid a normal, humane wage.

You can't measure the jobs that no longer exist or never came into existence because they don't provide enough value to warrant the minimum wage.

Empirical studies in economics always devolve into lame ass propaganda, same as unemployment stats that are kept artificially low by constantly altering the definition of who is "unemployed"

Yeah that sounds about right. We have a social welfare scheme whereby you get an extra €50 on top of your dole, but you can literally end up working up to full time. It's poverty extortion.

It's a transfer of wealth from business owners to the lower class, young, and disadvantaged. It reduces employment. It puts more of the burden of welfare on employers that use plenty of low skilled labor.

Minimum wage makes sense situationally. If there are floods of low skilled jobs nobody wants, the young don't have enough money, and there is minimal impact from burdening employers that use low skilled labor it can make sense.

It's notable that minimum wage hikes raise the cost of goods generally, but not to the extent that it outweighs the extra money coming from minimum wage. Depictions like this are oversimplistic if not outright wrong, raising the cost of labor increases the incentive to automate, and can make some business models unviable, reducing employment. However, some employers really could afford to be paying their workers more, and can't afford to not have the workers because that would mean they would stop making money, so some jobs do just go up in wage without being affected. Minimum wage hikes do kill jobs, but not every job being paid under say $15 currently, just jobs at businesses running extremely thin margins. Generally a raise in minimum wage results in a transfer of wealth from employers to employees.

Really if you actually wanted to know about this you would ask an economist because I haven't even read any economic literature and am mostly talking out my ass.

>The minimum wage predominantly affects the service sector

Got data to back that up?

Construction, agriculture, logistics, entry-level IT are all low-paying jobs who'd gladly take lower wage workers.

There is also an economic upside to minimum wage, in that when workers are being paid more, they have more disposible income, which gets reinvested into businesses. The poor also tend to get the most benefit from money, even if they use it less wisely than the rich. Businesses that mostly serve low wage customers, and hire low-wage employees may not actually face any impact to their bottom line, although they will still want to automate more than they did before.

The downside is you're rather directly burdening businesses that use low-skilled labor with the welfare of the nation. That can be bad.

This one is for Germany. It is unfortunately only in German, and I don't have enough time to translate it completely, but it essentially shows the type of jobs that had the most people with a wage lower than 8.5€ per hour. The biggest groups are waiters, retailers, postal service workers, people working in bakeries. Agriculture only had 3k people that were paid below 8.5€.

Unions are pretty big in Germany, and they usually help people, especially in construction, get higher wages.

ANARCHO CAPITALISM IS BEST CAPTIALISM

FUCK U FASCIST FAGS AND LIBERAL KEKS!

FREE SLAVES FOR ME AND MIN WAGE FOR NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mimimum wage is one of the areas where capitacucks are literally worse than Marxists.

Higher minimum wage the wedge between a host of jobs going to disease ridden african "migrants" (or worse - to fucking arabs) and the same host of jobs going to students or released soldiers.

Lower min.wage: the employer would rather save money than to have a somewhat more trustworthy employees in the service market.
Meaning: the absulute dirt of society gets employed instead of the youth, less money in circulating in YOUR economy (foreighners send cash outside and draining the cycle), youth unemployement = civil unrest, services suffer for EVERYONE due to inept, dangerous and retarded employees, introduction of foreign diseases into your nation's health sector.

Higher min.wage: the employer will struggle but will eventually employ the best qualified candidate for even the most mundane of tasks, lifting the quality of his services. GDP goes right up, foreign riff-raff goes away, less disease, less crime, more quality of life for EVERYONE.

If you oppose high minimum wage you are not a nationalist. You are either a globalist or an idiot.

t. economics major

>Jewish economist supporting minimum wage laws on the grounds they will cause Arabs to be unemployed

minimum wage ain't worthwhile, better off developing a mental health disorder,
Save yer back and hips the prolonged stress, take the hit and pretend to be a potatoe

The real question is, should there be an upper limit , ither yearly income or total accumulation of wealth?
I say fuck yes, when rich cunts start wiping their ass with fifties or lighting them on fire or flushing them, that shit should be illegal and confiscated from the fool and redistributed to those who can appreciate its value.
