So is book in pic related good and worth reading or is it propaganda garbage? I've heard both and just want a hard decision from the mass of people that is Sup Forums.

Also Sup Forums book thread

It's worth reading to understand the muh feelings science that leftists peddle as facts.

Just read it and make your own mind. It is of course propaganda, but it's worth knowing it to be able to refute it.

>So is book in pic related good and worth reading or is it propaganda garbage?

Both

Just skip it and read Ecological Imperialism instead.

lurk moar newfag

it makes the argument that niggers didn't succeed because their environment lacked certain aspects needed for civilization

it's completely debunked by the fact that niggers still fail to succeed in modern times where these issues are very irrelevant.

Propaganda garbage.

it's not as much propaganda as more of a "Well that sucks" mentality as to how Europe and Asia developed better than the Americas since it focuses on geography as the obstacle.

It makes a great pitch for enviromental determinism but goes out of its way to not mention the logical conclusion of it which is that if the only reason europeans got so powerful is due to their geological position, wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that this would also make them biologically superior?

Far from the worst read, although you'd be better off reading stuff on population genetics, or any anthropology, sociology, etc. based in evolution or mathematical modeling than a priori made up stuff like this.

To be fair, a lot of leftists hate this book too

It's debunked trash. Just watch the documentary if you're still interested, it also gives a good insight into the character of mr. diamond.

Well, the ones that Sup Forums could probably actually tolerate, not the current generation of them.

Listen to this. I hate the "white man" title, but its gold.

Victor Davis Hanson on NPR basically destroying Diamond and disproving his theories.

It's actually a pretty good book. Progressive reviewers misunderstand quite a bit, it's worth reading it for real instead of just their take on it.

Both extremes hate this book. Moderates seem to really like it for the most part but maybe thats just because they aren't retarded.

I've met Jared Diamond and read some of his books. He doesn't know shit.

Is something recommended by the pol hivemind good?

No.
Get the Power of Habit(...) Or anything psychology or marketing related.

The whole argument the book sets up is dismantled by how many resources Africa had compared to Mongolia and the fact that for half a millennia the Hordes achieved supremacy, a whole millennia if you include China rape.

These lads got it right.

read Carnage and Culture instead

Not really, since the resources alone don't incentivise for the kind of cooperation and altruism that is needed to create big communities.

Also the hordes achieved such success because of their expertise in horseriding in great open fields, once they got to a considerably more crowded area like europe they couldn't keep expanding as their tactics were simply not effective there.

What's a better book along similar lines?

>psychology

I actually respect this field now, what fucking timeline is this

The best one.

This is Sup Forums. We don't read books.

well shit.

>propaganda
>worth reading
These aren't mutually exclusive. If you know the arguments in advance it's easier to dispel them.

Reading comprehension of a nigger

>white guilt
>written by a jew

take a guess

Read it and find out jackass.

>requesting the advice of anonymous teenage NEETS over the internet
>believing you're a man
Go back.

Post colonization is better explained by "Political Order and Political decay", "Why nations fail", and "Origins of political order".

This book is okay for explaining why the Americas didn't conquer Europe but isn't for explaining the current layout of wealth and power.
