Flynn didn't specifically mention that he talked about sanctions, and they tried to flame him for a technicality. All he actually said was "the President plans to address the sanctions" which it was HIS JOB TO SAY, but it was during a call right before he entered office and he neglected to tell Pence.
His integrity and not wanting to be a weak link is what pushed him to resign, against Trump/Pence's wishes. It's a sad case, he's the first real casualty of the MSM weaponized propaganda campaign.
