Why is "cultural appropriation" a thing now all of a sudden? Years ago you could wear a Native American headdress to a costume party and nobody would give a flying fuck. Now it's "prejudice and racist!"

You still can in a normal country not ridden with guilt stemming from messiah stemming complex from arrogance.

Anglo-american whites believed that they rule the world, so they taught their children to act like they inherited an obligation to govern other people like they are superior, who in turn taught their children to be moralizing idiots.

And slowly hubris was corrupted into self-mortification.

Because we take what works from your culture and make it our own.

Because fuck you.

Progressives are running out of steam. Instead of real issues, they only have moralistic outrage.

because people are just bored. people of all colors and genders in America are currently enjoying the highest quality of life of all time. now that everything is relatively equal and there is no real oppression anymore, they need something else to complain about and suck the fun out of everything. hence, we're no longer allowed to enjoy Halloween.

oh how woefully wrong you are

now that they have Lord Fauntleroy Bumblefuck in charge, they have plenty of 'real issues' again

Pretty much

Quit hanging out with faggots and you won't have this problem.

All I've seen so far is moralistic outrage. What are the progressives gonna sell us, more 20th century solutions to 21st century problems. It's all old hat at this point.

The left is running out of things to be offended by to milk for moral high ground points.

>Years ago you could wear a Native American headdress to a costume party and nobody would give a flying fuck.
You can do that now. Just don't be friends with faggots.

No tits

Damn shame

>libfags preach about how we live in a melting pot and should embrace diversity
>libfags autistically screech when their beloved diversity interacts in the melting pot

Just one of many examples of leftist doublethink

You think a culture would be delighted to spread its artifacts and rites into the one that conquered it. Just look how greekified that little latin tribe was. Or how much the celts, the norse, the germans, the slavs or we magyars took from eachother, assimilating back and forth and no one was offended.

Why arent they offended about muslims spreading their shit into europe. Eating kebabs is not "cultural approporiaton"?

The internet has allowed crazies to bully people and universities professors have became extreme marxists

So, the headdress is a mark of cultural and religious distinction. It is something to be earned. That being said it's not our responsibility to be inoffensive unless we are a guest in their community.

>So, the headdress is a mark of cultural and religious distinction. It is something to be earned.

This user said it. It's unlike much of the other "appropriations."

It's a goofy fucking mess of feathers that pre-civilization turkey hunters wore, who gives a shit what those primitive humans think someone earned

I like to think that someone is manipulating events behind the scenes to make a point about identity politics and hypocrisy. Bring back segregation by focusing on culture and watch lefties swelling with pride in bringing back colored only water fountains.

>what is critical theory for 500

Upper right hand corner.

Does this mean everyone else has to stop wearing suits, driving cars and using electricity?

Setting up to throw niggers back in huts made from poop. Shhhh....

I am woke.

Used to be that when people enjoyed parts of each other's cultures, this was considered a good thing. It meant people were sharing things and that formed the foundation of understanding one another.

Libs are so keyed on identity politics that they need to find offense where none ever existed, where it was never intended; and they take it so depely to heart that they are actually truly offended.

It's all an effort to appear as the biggest victims. They fight so hard to be the biggest victims to they can whip out the 'privelege' accusation against everyone else.

>we're no longer allowed to enjoy Halloween.
Fucking this! Halloween without cultural appropriation would just be ethno-nationalist clothing day: Only niggers could be zombies, only Europeans could be witches with pointed hat, Native Americans could Couldn't wear anything but the OP pick, only nips could be ninjas, only gypsies could be Dracula. It would be fucking segregated as fuck (still doable though).

Niggers want gibmedats for violating intellectual property law. I blame Disney.

I'm going to say it's also because of kikebook.

Kikebook increased 'moral outrage' points by 1000 as people (mostly women) found that complaining about how something offended them and how hurt they were by it was an easy way to likefarm. It's what fat bitches have to do for attention because posting slutty selfies isn't an option.

>Years ago you could wear a Native American headdress to a costume party and nobody would give a flying fuck.
Yeah, they would. But people would call them sentimental fags and move on. Now people actually acknowledge people being upset about people laughing at what is used to represent them, and what their people stand for.

>blackface was about enjoying the good things
>frat guys chanting at FSU is about the good things

There is nothing inherently insulting or mocking about wearing another culture's traditional dress to a costume party.

>cultural appropriation
More American, social justice garbage that has managed to crawl it's way into European societies in recent years. The US is truly the cancer of the Western world.

Wtf it's like the United States of America is some kind if cultural melting pot or something

>prejudiced ≠ prejudice
>bias ≠ biased
why do you burgers struggle with this so much?

By this logic every nigger using something invented by a white man is cultural appropriation, so everything they own and do.

It's a situation of regions of the Left having it so good for so long in this country that they forgot how bad civil rights used to be for everyone, how the assumptions have changed over time.

They take what was earned in the 60s and 90s as the civic floor they can't go beneath and so they've begun nitpicking for things to get angry about.

The entire "appropriation" and "Privilege" movements aren't completely unfounded but they're a classic case of the Left counting its chickens before its eggs have hatched.

The whole cultural appropriation thing is bullshit. Everyone forgets how much of American culture the whole world has "appropriated", blue jeans , pop music. It's only because the USA doesn't get butthurt about it.

I'm more worried about her weight. Shit's fucked up nigga

This.
If this were the case, every country we've ever been slightly antagonistic towards shouldn't be allowed to use things that we made, and vice versa.

See, I get that there's a situation where a culture mixes too much with another and disappears but the whole costume situation doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Like it's not even blackface where you're going as another race, you're just wearing the stylings of another culture. That's like saying wearing a three piece suite from Valentino's is cultural appropriation of Italy.

yeah its baisically a shame based version of White man's burden.

Because, aboriginals and blacks felt that the best way to improve their circumstances is to further culturally marginalized themselves and make it harder for others to walk in their shoes and feel empathy for them.

Fuck dressing up as drunks. You could still wear a kimono or a quipao.

Because for some pink haired dyke, it was either work at Starbucks or go ahead and get your PhD. Ze chose the PhD route and had to choose a completely unique topic to write zir thesis over. Came up with the idea of cultural appropriation, the board loved zir thesis, and the rest is history.

>this actually probably isn't that far from the truth
