/odg/ Oroville Dam General - 17th day of the 2nd month 2/17. Biblical Edition

Rain and Rubble
Snowmelt and thunder
Let califags huddle
And engineers blunder
Let the waters rage
And the barriers burst
Hail Kek's change
For this land will be cursed.
Wash away the wicked
kill them all
A new world will emerge
Cali must fall
Blow the dam
Praise the flood
Scour the land
With rock and mud.
May the cuck dam crumble
As Kek demands
As it falls it will rumble
Claiming all the innocent lands
Doubt not our almighty Kek
Lest flood and fire He shall send
For at first to salvage there must be a wreck
The vile must be broken for the good to mend
Flods of beaners
you are alright with that
now, here come's the water
YOU HAVE TO GO BACK
Degenerates cry out
and are fleeing in throes
But no matter how loud they shout
Kek's answer is: "No".
The thunder of water beats through your ear
Far in the distance, the frog-king appear
"I have told you, time and time again"
"keep up with this bullshit, and this is THE END"
For no matter how many lies the False Ones procure
On computer, typewriter, spoken or by pen
Have faith that the deplorables will find a way to ensure
That Pol, is right once again.

PREVIOUS THREAD FIX

all hail erosion chan

What's it going to look like when this thing goes?

...

reasking from last bread

Can someone smarter than I am calculate the CFS if 30ft of water is flowing through a 950 feet wide gap?
>pic related 950' emergency spillway
We've seen what a day of 100k cfs does to a hillside.

...

TODAY'S DAMNAGE

FREASH PIC OF BEL AIRE AS OF THIS AFTERNOON

BUBBLES START

this is very concerning, very very concerning...

>tfw your meme is used at the picture for the new thread

like this

BUBBLES CONTINUE and the video guy SHUTS IT DOWN

youtu.be/EqEU2X6yBPk?t=31s

We need more pics/related pics of erosion chan.

Next edition should be metal detector edition because there gold in them hills!

youtube.com/watch?v=X-zCI9woGCg

Will there be a happening tonight?

You'd need the pressure of the water to make that calculation

fun fact, the "gold in them there hills" actually comes from a town mayor in Georgia

that means it's fucked, right?

fooooshhhhhhh

Posting the emergency spillways sweet gashes.

IT BEGINS!!!

>tfw the old alka-seltzer into the reservoir ruse worked and everybody is flipping their shit

You talking like 30 feet of water above the 90 foot gap?

Praise the almighty KeK
He will flood these heathens with a river of piss

...

...

>333
>video of test for dam breaking

What did kek meme by this?

So the first weather report said "catastrophic flooding" in my area (socal) then the next report I saw said light rains 1-3 inches.

A third report said high winds, and disastrous flooding. Do they know what is coming? Weather reporters don't usually say "catastrophic" and disastrous when describing heavy rains.

Calling S.O.S in deep despair.
Please, teach me
how the hell do I breathe down there?
Waves crash on me, I can't hold my breath,
there's no coming up for a gasp of air.

And as the tears fall on us now,
the chances are that I will drown.
I've sacrificed all that I love and care about
drowning in the flood.

well it isn't good and they sure shut that down as soon as they saw bubbles

Google says:
Oroville Dam/Surface area
24.7 mi2
Does that help?

Who /comfy/ here?

Is it possible that pic related is happening to the main or emergency spillways?

They were saying that if the emergency spillway gave out a 30' wall of water would come down the side.
Seeing that the spillway is 950' wide, I'm curious how many CFS that would be
If it can be calculated, I'm not that smart.

something to do with water or erosion seeping underneath or something

I thought it suspicious that they cut away from that so quickly.

Nothing to see here!

Pressure? It would just be a typical water pressure calculation, right?

Pressure head = density * g * h

California hills are full of Goldbergs instead

hopefully after the waters recede we can find a huge pile of them at the base of the dam

the dam's just a concrete facing on a dirt hill user, if a crack or void has formed from the excessive weight on an under-maintained dam, the water will be surely channeling downward and softening the whole hillside

...

There were bubbles spotted near the emergency spillway.

I don't know if there is enough water pressure to push under it though since its only like 20 feet high.

Right now the water is not pressuring the spillway where the bubbles were.

1.4 PSI fer vertical foot.

So take Water Height x 1/2 x 1.4 = pressure.

Calculation is accurate, except for shallow water movement (high drag ratio).

I don't think you know how a backup spillway works.

I'm not one to criticize but her fluke doesn't seem very hydrodynamically efficient

Unlikely. We and government expect that when overfill occurs again water will erode the base of emergency spillway causing it to collapse.

It's definitely not the sun, watch the video.

Speak or forever hold your face,
mourning in the sunken city weeps.
Steal my thunder in your tempest hail,
we'll surrender when the levee fails.

Human corpses floating side by side,
washed up with the distant moonlit tide.
Only she can save our sorry souls,
priceless freedom coming at a heavy cost.

also don't forget that last time it was this full it touched off an earthquake swarm, and this time it looks like it has too already

HABBENING!!!!!!!111!!!!111 ONe

no i live 1 hr east of there in the hills and nonsign of rain yet but we do have all the yuba city scum polluting our fairgrounds

So what is going to happen to all the fish? Will they be dead? Can they swim all the way to the ocean? Will they receive refugee status in other lakes?

I want to cavitate Aqua with my iron-hard scepter of bagrocks

Easier to just use 0.4 PSI / ft (veritcal ft, that is).

fucking sun shill in every thread

Reminder:

>spillsways bow to water
>in contact with rain and melt snow
>possess erosion abilities
>control oroville with a watery flow
>owns dams & emergency spillways locally
>direct descendants of the snow on northern mountains
>will provide water for first dams on jupiter
>oroville will be the first dam
>own 99% of californias drinking water on earth
>first spillways will be oroville spillways
>both spillways said to have high flow, such erosion has only existed on the earth deep in the mariana trench & japan
>ancient native scriptures tell of two spillway failures that will descend upon california and will bring an age of underwater cities and dam technology progression
>they own rocks around the world
>you likely have oroville water inside you now
>the spillways are in regular communication with the agencies, fowarding the word of oroville dam
>who do you think set up the meeting between greenpeace and the WNA? the first meeting of the two organisations since their creation and arranged the WNAs leader first trip to sahara to oroville failsafe dam in desert land?
>they learned fluent water engineering in under a day
>other dams entrusted their water to the oroville spillways
>there is no water in the dam, only in the spillway
>the spillways are about 50 years old, from the space-time reference point of the base spillway currently accepted by our society
>in reality, they are eroded beings existing in only a short span of time and space from the big overflow of california
>we dont know their ultimate plans yet
>we hope the spillways are well constructed

youtube.com/watch?v=GfRx4JkkoaY

the rain should be there any minute user

I am guessing sometime Saturday.

Thing is... that's a ridiculously conservative estimate. It basically assumes that a massive wall of water, with the force of many explosions coming down nonstop WOULDN'T erode the entire hillside much lower OR undermine the main chute of the dam OR actually leach below the head of the dam itself.

If the spillway goes, odds are most of that lake will come out and "30 feet" is a silly underestimation.

...

Who would've known that dam failure in USA will cause Ukraine to be flooded completely?

Yeah I'm not good with imperial units

a Bulgarian dam engineer guy in another thread said the bubbles were nothing to worry about since lots of things bubble

Little movement, user.
Bubbles are from ~2, soon to be 3 days ago user.

well now no one gets Crimea

The E-spillway is rated for like 200,000 CFS. If the thing collapsed I would guess you're looking at 1-2 million CFS, which could possibly destroy the next dam downstream.

Aren't they removing the turbines for the fear of that

oh yes

here have a gushing wet hole for your troubel

ill keep everyone posted

Fun thing is Crimea gets to exist whilst Moscow and Kyiv don't.

who knows, it might cause a number of unexplained explosions all over Ukraine, water works in mysterious ways

posting more wet holes, who knows how deep and wet this hole is?

i'm so hard

The turbines (at the base of the dam) are already shut off

More anons need to meme songs that deal with floods.

So that's why Russia wanted it so bad

About that, the initial wall of water would be 30ft due to the height of the spillway but wouldn't erosion make it deeper by the minute if the whole wall just fell away?

Not sure how accurate this is but

9.2123e+5

Got this by taking the area of the wall of water 950x30, and approximated that to the area of a circle with would have a diameter of about 191 feet.

Went to this website and assumed the water flow would be at the rate of gravity 9.8m/s

1728.org/flowrate.htm

Not sure how accurate, but thats just aguess

i live a couple hundred miles away but am an experimenter and have sensitive power measuring equipment

if that thing goes it's going to cause stress on the grid and i will detect it

im in Louisiana when the ground near a levee bubbles its trouble. same principle applies here. red flag

WHAT HAVE I DONE!

Acceleration =/= Velocity

Roughly 1.3 million CFS for pure water, but the mud would affect viscosity. Probably closer to 1 mil CFS

It's actually very vulvic from this angle

Great work.
