Communism is the next stage of humanity following the capitalist stage.
What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

Soviet Union was a socialist country, led by a communist party. A lot of leftists might disagree on how successful they were, although I think they did a pretty good job.

I think it's possible, although it really depends on the country and how the military functions. I think that countries with compulsory military service will obviously have a large number of disaffected proles that will be susceptible to communist ideology.
More professional militaries would be harder, but a lot of workers are forced into military for economic reasons, and could still be sympathetic to the workers movement.

Right now workers produce the great value of society through labor, and receive very little in return. As communists we suggest that workers should use their position as the majority in society to take political power, and insure that the wealth of society is used to their own benefit.
