Well this entire "self-improvement" culture is a cult. It's really strange to see since such an attitude would be a good thing on paper, but it turns out..strange in actuality. I find the central element to be busy work. You create a new age religion based around being busy, no matter what the results might be. Look at people like Eric Thomas, Robin Sharma, Anthony Robbins, Tai Lopez etc. Look at their followers. You have people dressing themselves in fancy suits and TALKING business without actually doing something. Take on of the most basic things in this religion: the law of attraction. Read about it if you don't know it, it's really..again, strange.

The kid in the picture, for example, is basically condemned to die before he turns 18, and it's something that he is reminded of on a daily basis whenever he has to look into a mirror each morning or ask someone for help to dress himself.
The easy thing to do, at that point, would be to off yourself. Instead, he tries to make the most out of what he has and seems pretty happy with what he's accomplished.
It's a lot harder than it sounds.
