I don't see black Scientists

Out of all of these lame ass comics there still hasn't been one that captures what aspect of climate change people are not even denying but calling into question. Then again it's easier to call someone a stupid white redneck than to answer questions.

>mfw (((climate scientists))) predicted my neighborhood would be underwater by 2015.

Remember when every scientist in the world agreed that the Earth was flat, because it helped fit their narrative, except for a select few?

(((scientists)))

Climate is changing and it has done this before many times in the exact same fashion without our man-made contributions.

Only this time, where it should be dropping again (like it has in the past, many times) it's continuing to rise.

Whatever we're doing, we're stopping the Earth from dropping in temperature like it has in the past.

With this, it's super hard to say that man-made contributions are the leading cause in any downfall in Earth's ecosystem.

No just shows how truly amazingly fucking stupid people who don't look at the actual data for climate change. All while totally ignoring the people who are have disputed it using the same exact models and scientists.

Temperature has not risen in 18 years actually

Rationaloptimist.com

>Be Climate Scientist
>Try to show evidence against global warming
>Universities take away funding
>Get shamed
>Lose job
>Lose friends
>Am no longer considered climate scientist
>"Durhur 99% of scientists believe in climate change."

We all know science is a liar sometimes..

youtube.com/watch?v=Zgk8UdV7GQ0

me too lmao

> mfw 1900s climate scientists predicted another ice age by 2020

Fucking dinosaurs caused alot of Co2, even more than we produce. The planet still continues living. Maybe some animals will go extinct but that's evolution and survival of the fittest. Climate change is a meme.

...

Certain people like to make comic that portray people critical of the rhetoric surrounding climate change as stupid because it makes them feel smart. They call them "climate deniers" because there's an implicit equivalence made to "holocaust denier", as if anyone critical or skeptical is some kind of fringe Nazi. If you just happen to be a scientist, then you're ignored outright, ostracized, or accused of being a shill.

This is how a lot of viewpoints are treated on Sup Forums, which goes to show that these tactics are highly effective at silencing and minimizing opposition, even if that opposition is acting in good faith.

During Paleocene–Eocene Thermal Maximum there were fucking palm trees growing North of the Arctic Circle... Humans were not around for that one. Nor where humans around when the Ice Age ended. There were glaciers all the way down to California for fuck sake, not even 75,000 years ago.

So I don't think people are stupid for doubting what is going on. I'm leaning towards thinking that humans are speeding up the natural warming period into which our species was born... but you aren't taxing me for shit liberal. I'll make Trump the President. Oh wait, I already did.

Suck it.

PewDiePie proved that if you pay someone enough they will say what ever it is you want them to say. Who pays these "climate change" specialists?

Yeah we also were in the ice age a few thousand of years ago and suddenly the earth started to shift and got warmer cause why not and that was before fossil fuels were a thing.
And even now, that fossil fuels ARE a thing and have been for decades (((scientist))) claiming that the north pole will melt, they said the same thing 50 years ago, they said I would be underwater by now.

Academia is really fucked up. Very few people in academia have any job security. They're in constant competition for grants from various different organizations. If they step out of line, their career is finished and their hard-won skills go to waste.

Wowzers I'm convinced, better stop questioning the narrative.

this, there is overwhelming pressure to conform, especially something in the category of "political science" like climate change

Give us sensible methods to solve it and maybe you'll get more people on board.

>virtually every science in the world
Let me guess:
They studied and got degrees in
>All the sciences

...

Virtual scientists eh?

get your eyes checked

>virtually
What points do the other scientist disagree on? After looking into it, the point isn't that CO2 doesn't warm the atmosphere or even to what degree. The question is on how the feedbacks equate and change the overall temperature over time. That is when it gets warmer and more clouds form due to evaporation, what temperature will it be then? All of the projections based on current models have been wildly wrong.

Also mot of the climate change is based on ocean temperatures, not air.

>"climate change is real"
>had to shovel out 12 inches of snow in New York, New York where i live

I think it's quite clear that both sides of the debate has some fluency in spinning the values in a way they want because they're shills. People need to stop being so fucking stupid about it though. It's not "Climate Change vs Climate Denial", that's the same bullshit divisive tactics they always use on you fucking people.
You need to look at what specifically is being talked about, what is happening now, and evaluate the magnitude of consequences. Allow me to explain.

Grandiose claims of world destruction and carbon poisoning the planet in 4 years are hardly a claim and you're right to laugh at it. However an analysis of wetland loss in purely rain-fed environments which utilize a large area for irrigated farmland is a serious problem which can result in mass drought, soil loss, soil structure breakdown, etc.

Use your fucking heads.

We need real democracy. Our society is tearing itself apart under the weight of imposed political narratives instead of adapting and strengthening itself.

that's a pretty clever comic

Climate variation is real. Manmade climate variation is not.

you know virtually means not real

OMG YOU MOCKINGS HIM!

YOU MOCKINGS!!!

MUST BE CORRECT

so either the climate denier has more weight to his arguments or anything the climate denier believes becomes reality (including denying gravity)

so which is it, science brainlets?
Is climate denial the true path to ascension and control over reality?

Hence why they changed the name from "global warming" to "climate change". Now, any change whatsoever in the climate (doesn't matter if it's hotter or colder) is deemed """evidence""". Maximum kek, I am at a loss as to how otherwise intelligent people could fall for this shit-tier meme.

Good points. Would you agree that the narrative from environmentalism has shifted from specific (e.g. this river is full of trash and the fish are dying because of it) to the general (e.g. you're breathing and that's bad for the world), and that serves to distract the environmental movement from problems that might be soluble and redirect them towards problems that are intractable (i.e. "global warming")?

Yeah, my Valley was created by these southern glaciers. Their proofs? Fossilized sea creatures.
> Couldn't a large scale flood do that?
Hurdur science has no place for religion.

>california drought
>global warming!
>california flood
>global warming!

So if anything other than 60-70F sunny days is now global waring?

>Virtually every scientist in the world

I don't get it. Not every scientist is a climate scientist. Do liberals think that scientists know, like, everything?

Same. My beach-house is supposed to be uninhabitable at this point.

Yes, in fact they do.
Though they lack the intelligence to understand methodology.

shut the fuck up shill
checked

Im suprised David Horsey didn't make this comic.

its almost like the common man has control and the elites can sit and spin

like it should be

>coming from someone who spells SCieNTiST like this

No one is denying climate change, what people are skeptic is the narrative that it's man made. Scientific studies are embedded in so much politics that I think it's a reasonable position to be.
This shit is being shilled hard.

>Do liberals think that scientists know, like, everything?

They love to parrot everything Bill Nye says and he's a mechanical engineer.

I wish more people realized this about academia. Controversial topics like environmental science and certain theories in modern physics can lead you to becoming unemployable slaving 50 years of your life into your career just for publishing an article with the wrong view point at the wrong time.

There's also a huge problem with peer review and falsification of data, especially in applied data sciences like enviro, bio, bio-chem, and pharma

This deification of "science" and "scientists", especially by pseudointellectuals, makes me want to murder

No, because that happened in literal prehistory. No educated man ever believed the earth was flat, ever

> Cali getting rekt
> El Nino

The Science is so clear and settled that there's no need to falsify data on it.

I just had a thought

what if trump is using meme magic to STOP global warming?

think about it.

t. UndaDaSea nigger

look at this

>the temperature is rising
>"G-global warming! muh human is on the wrong here!"
>the temperature is falling
>"C-climate change! muh human is on the wrong here!"

>underage detected

this is the blackest ID I've seen in months

Gravity is a lie

I don't think progressives realize there are a lot of people that deny climate change due to the alarmism, condescension, and near instantaneous attacks for anything even remotely doubting it.

Im a scientist, does my opinion count now

>appeal to authority

> believing in an all powerful invisible force
Newtonians btfo

You can have all the theories. All fancy graphs. All fancy power point lectures. All fancy songs. All fancy believers. As soon as there is one evidence which disproves your theory. It is disproven. The comic is implying that as soon as a side has more evidence it is the right side 'it outweights' the other side. But it doesn't work like that. You can talk about 1 + 1 = 3 all the time and everybody can believe you but when somebody proves you wrong with 1 Apple + 1 Apple = 2 Apples you have been disproven.

>science is democratic

what climate scientists think they can predict

my fav

Being a scientist doesn't make you smart, it makes you trained in a very specific aspect of science. they aren't immediately correct unless they have peer reviewed literature to back up their claims. Particularly pisses me off when they comment on politics when they have no idea. Granted these

No. A flood would be fresh water, and temporary, whereas salt water coral lifeforms that make up fossilized sea beds take many thousands of years to grow into a respectable layer of sediment.

And what does that have to do with glaciers? We are not assuming glaciers once existed, we can see them. We have time lapsed footage of them carving out canyons... not really a speculative assumption.

Access to scientifical publishing and grants makes you scientist. No skills involved.

Adhering to the scientific method makes you a scientist. Nothing else involved.

The incalculable amount of variables which factor into climate are impossible for us to comprehend much less measure, disseminate and discern each influence with every other corresponding variable affected. It is closer to chaos than picking out a handful of environmental flags and stating such a blanket explanation as fact.

Even the simplest of processes become near chaotic when examined in ever increasingly smaller scale much less planetary. Improvements in data collection with disregard to localized environmental and topographic variables (changed or underreported), coupled with the sheer amount of data collected for comparison antiquates previous data in scope and methodology.

Climatology is political party, which explains the wildly unreasonable reaction to qualified dissension in peer review, refusal of data sharing and dismissal of the need for reproduction when errors and falsifications are present. If it had remained in the scientific realm, it would still be called Meteorology. That every climatologist concurs, what they were taught and are now teaching is fact, means nothing. Experimenter bias can be attributed to much more than a salary in the prestige of fronting humanity saving research in our dire final hour, receiving awards and accolades and earning a prominent place in the regulatory behemoth established to counter the contrived results before they show no fruition. It might just focus data gathering at predetermined locations of concentrated production of the conformational data required.

The embedded politics are on display when all importance is placed on halting progress and limiting freedoms instead of countering the perceived effects through their own means of collection, disposal, or production of whatever they imagine will balance things out.

If man's influence on climate change was correctly represented as a hypothesis, it would not currently be the basis for the regulatory systems being devised, causing apoplectic opposition to the devastating economic ramifications and repression of civil liberties. Then research with the removal of politics being of foremost prominence in the exclusion of experimental bias would ensure the integrity of the studies and true consensus can be found.

((all scientists))

The 1 Apple + 1 Apple = 2 Apples is just one case, and it doesn't actually prove shit.

Wasn't there a time when "virtually every scientist in the world" agreed that niggers had smaller brains?

Ya, scientists sure are paragons of virtue.

npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/09/13/493739074/50-years-ago-sugar-industry-quietly-paid-scientists-to-point-blame-at-fat

What of a global flood?

And no, there isn't time laps of the Shenandoah Valley's creation.

its a funny cartoon really

A testament to how little credibility leftist have.

Galileo was executed because he thought the Earth revolved around the Sun.

...

Gravity is probably the biggest jewish scam

Everyone takes it like its the absolute truth and yet, it can't be seen, mesure or felt.

What we call gravity is just density.

>only a select few have access to raw temperature measurements, everyone else relies on the middle men
>consequences of the results are highly political, amounting to billions of dollars of effort or tax impacts depending on which way the data swings
>scientists disagree on CO2 doubling vs temperature rise rates, meaning it could be fucking nothing, or we need to get our shit together yesterday or we're doomed
>(((scientists))) like to make (((adjustments))) to the raw data when they don't like what it says

>any part of this chain can be skewed, if you question any part of the system you'll be shamed by the MSM.

>Am I falling for an argument-from-authority fallacy mixed with an prototypical anti-corporate sentiment?
>No, Bill Nye is right about everything.

>A cartoon proves something

Cucks and SJW faggots from leddit don't understand how to post here.

OP never posted more than 1 thing. sage

The climate denier must be on to something if he actually holds that much weight.

Scientific method is a meme.
1. It requires the use of unfalsifiable theory of falsifiability.
2. It is commonly accepted as obsolete, at least since solar wind discovery was made. And the discovery was not accepted, until people experienced it.

So only monetary criteria matters.
1. If you can prove, that money are spent without any worth, grant will be declined. Nobody would do this shit to make enemies in community.
2. If you can observe something, this works, regardless if there is a proper formula for it. All experiments now are done in this way. Cognitio ad prototypum.

As for now, you cant even prove curved earth.

I'm technically a scientist, but I wouldn't trust me for shit. Unless you're actually studying that particular thing it's kind of irrelevant whether you're a scientist or not, unless the thing you're discussing is something very general.

>1 post by this IP

Science is about constantly testing theories.

Going "science is settled" is literally the opposite.

Also reminder that there is no list of these "97%"

This
The true victory is realizing that there is no such thing as "science." There are advocates with arguments and data.

>the majority believe it's true, therefore it is true!
Huh, I don't remember the globe being flat.

What's your end game?

Carbon tax? Unregulated derivatives (((market))) for carbon credits?

Talk to me about thorium salt nuclear reactors.

Fucking science deniers...

>ID=BLACKED

Funny cause those scientist said where I Kobe would be either underwater or uninhabitable

Majority of scientists believe in Big Bang also, and will one day be proved so wrong u cunt

Yup, snow in texas and Egypt are definitely signs of a stable climate.

It's hilarious that Sup Forums are suddenly climate change deniers now. Keep on following that party line, user.
