According to the court documents, for an adult it would have been 1 year. Since he managed to convince the court that he was like 1 month from turning 18 he got 75% off his sentence and some rounding off, this is standard practice in Sweden.
At some point you kind of start asking yourself whether the punishment is even a deterrent at all, or if it's cheaper than hiring a prostitute. Most of the time the girl probably won't even report it to the police (it seems like the 14 year old girl only went to the police because the other case came up) and in many cases the police is just going to drop the case immediately. So the expected value of the jail sentence if you rape a minor and you are "17" is like a week. That's hardly enough time for Muhammad to generate enough capital to hire a prostitute unless he's involved in some serious business. The fine is definitely a much harsher punishment than the jail, but I doubt the girls will ever see that money.

So if you're a Syrian in Sweden you're not going to be sent back. Secondly, they can't send people back if they don't have proper paperwork, because herp derp they don't know which country they're from. So basically if people show up in Sweden without any papers and rape 50 people it doesn't matter, because unless the Swedish government can determine the identity of them they won't deport them. Thirdly, it's very, very rare that Sweden actually, physically deports people. It has happened a couple of times that they send people back on airplanes, but usually they just deny them asylum, and the person has to go back to where they came from. In this case, many of them just stay and don't bother going, and get this, they keep getting welfare from the government while they do. You can't make this shit up. And finally, let's say you've managed to prove someone's identity, their country isn't too dangerous, you get them physically deported and banished from the country... then nothing stops them from just showing up again. The other day we had a fucking professional hitman (This is not a joke) who had been banished for life from Sweden TWICE, who got arrested for the THIRD TIME in Stockholm.
