So far? Crime is far lower. Stagflation isn't really an issue, though, like the 70s, the economy is seen as being on shaky ground. Gas is actually accessible and food prices aren't skyrocketing at such a rate that half the world literally cannot buy meat. The overall malaise doesn't exist in the same way. Internal turmoil across the West exists but is non-violent (compared to say Greece or Italy in the 70s). The 2010s are certainly a step up from the 1970s for most of the West. They aren't overall good by any means, but I'd say they're better.

It was better but to say it was far better is a meme. It wasn't some utopia, and if you had the unfortunate circumstance of growing up in an inner city(which I did the first part of childhood until the early 90"s, and overall was more likely than now for whites), it was far worse.

The 70's weren't fucking awful. It was a more simple time, but people were mostly happy, but it was pre-internet, so most people didn't have much clue about the world outside of their town. Travel was a lot more expensive and more rare then, people stuck to their regions mostly. A family could still survive off one income, and the media, culture and society outside of Hollywood, music and movie industries were pretty naive and simple and to us now backwards, almost. But it was a simpler, peaceful time, for the most part.

So basically the 00s were the same as now except the outlook of the video games industry was much more optimistic, the SJW cancer wasn't quite so invasive to your everyday life, you weren't attached to your phone 24/7, and gasoline was expensive af. I remember it as having a very cynical and pessimistic milieu but not what it is now where there's a thin layer of civilization preventing us from erupting into civil war.
So yes it was less shitty and I mostly blame Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, black people rioting when their nigglets corner people and get themselves shot, muslims, and widespread narcissism for making things worse. The world needs a fuckton of chemo.
