Do kids even watch cartoons nowadays? On like Nick or Cartoon Network? Shows today are such garbage, and I don't see any kids really watch cartoons or talk about it.
The 90's and early 2000s were fucking glorious for cartoons. Not only were they actually worth watching, with even some intelligent dialogue, kids used to watch that shit all the time, and it became an intrinsic part of their culture. Even more than twelve years later, when we think of cartoons, we just completely ignore the drivel that's been produced in the last decade, and think of all the amazing cartoons that came before. (The memes really show this). So what happened to cartoons? Is it because the internet really dominated, is it the writers? Have these companies realized that they don't really care about quality, but just profits?
Once (((they))) banned speedy Gonzalez and Pepe Lepew it went downhill fast.

>DB Super
Sucks, Dragonball should have ended with the Cell saga
>Samurai Jack
On adult swim featuring gore, made for nostalgic millennials not kids.
Ryder Scott
Teen Titans GO gave my dog shotgun diarrhea and Steven Universe made me abstain from television entirely.
Aiden Phillips
I think everyone with talent just got tired or quit. I remember one day the shows got worse and it never stopped.
Nolan Bailey
>literally 2000s shows rebooted
How about Wander Over Yonder, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, FiM, Gravity Falls, Omniverse, and I'm sure there's a few other shows I'm forgetting.
Joshua Barnes
No. They watch porn on their smartphones instead.
Jacob Ramirez
>Dragonball should have ended with the Cell saga its one of these autists
William Sanchez
>new Samurai Jack kek wtf its real new Samurai Jack
Christian Davis
I don't think kids watch much TV/cartoons anymore. At least in comparison to us who were born in the late 80's early 90's. I would assume because of the internet and devices like smartphones and tablets. Kids come home from school now and get an iPad put in their face rather than a TV
I have a little sister. She barely watches cartoons at all. She used to watch all the stuff on Nickelodeon, and the new teen Titans Go stuff. I haven't seen her watch a cartoon in a while though
I can't blame her though. Most cartoons nowadays are fucking dead meme spewing unfunny trash. Is it because we are grown up now and more mature to know what's really funny/good or not? Probably. But I can go back and rewatch older cartoons and actually enjoy them. I can't do that with most new cartoons. Maybe it's blinding nostalgia, or maybe cartoons just aren't funny and/or good anymore.
Jose Hughes
these digits of mine confirm Avatar: The Last Airbender as the G O A T show out of the 2000's
Jonathan Barnes
... and Dan Schneider watches them trough their smartphones.
Ian Sanders
Kids as young as two can navigate Netflix on moms phone or YouTube on the computer. When I was 8 I got a gameboy color. Hyped as fuck. My brother got a chrome laptop at his age (14 year difference) He does whatever he wants on it. Mostly music videos or Netflix. But the world is changing.
Jaxson Cox
I'm thinking about this too recently. I have two nieces and a nephew under 2 years old, and all the entertainment available to them is absolute drivel. I don't want to be one of those fags who only shows kids old cartoons they don't care about, so there isn't much of a solution.
Sounds like they don't need our help, then.
Liam Ross
Boondocks and Metalocalypse were good.
Christopher Turner
OG SpongeBob is a fucking meme factory
Andrew Bell
I'm old enough that Spongebob came out long after my days of watching cartoons was over, but in the times I had no choice but to watch it (visiting family, watching my niece), I thought it was actually very funny and enjoyable.
Jayden Turner
Gravity falls is about the only stuff that's 'kiddy' that I've liked, but it still isn't something that I like ideologically. Steven Universe is trash, of course. Star Vs. Evil is annoying, but not as bad as the one above. Wander Over Yonder is super gay.
They tried to reboot the Power Puff Girls, but it's shit. Samurai Jack will probably be good though.
Most of the good cartoons and animated shows are all adult oriented now.
All of the kids I know are also really young and watching shit like Doc McStuffins and Sophia the First, Paw Patrol, ect. I couldn't tell you what pre-teens and elementary school kids are watching.
Matthew Brown
They watch anime instead, which is fine too. I don't blame them either, modern cartoons suck massive dick.
Grayson Murphy
I don't watch any cartoons anymore really, but I actually really enjoy The Amazing World of Gumball.
No fucking way.
Justin Hall
Looks cool, but no more Mako would be a downer.
There's a clear quality difference, not just nostalgia.
Isaac Campbell
>should have ended with cell saga Agreed
Jordan Bennett
(((No idea what could have possibly happened, OP)))
Elijah Jackson
It's a lot more of the Dan Schneider live action garbage than cartoons nowadays. What few Cartoons they do watch are shit like Stephen Universe and Adventure Time - ultra ultra bluepilled stuff in which every male is impotent, weak and childish and every female is smart, strong and empowered.
Camden Cook
I wasn't even potty trained by age 2, yet alone able to use a computer.
Logan Scott
PC culture killed cartoons. Most of the original Looney Tunes are too racist for today's children so they have to watch the Animated Sitcom version of Bugs and Daffy.
Landon Hall
>greened
Dylan Scott
Spongebob was the last great cartoon we've seen unfortunately.
Evan Davis
The companies just want shekels, so that means more shitty shows that are projected to get the most views by (((analysts))) On top of that, (((they))) control what our kids watch now. I don't watch too many cartoons now because I'm not a fucking child, I'm a well educated highly culture autiste who partake in cartoons from the orient. Back to my point, I'll see from time to time shit pop up in this thread about shows like Steven universe, which from the small. It's I've seen come out of Sup Forums everyone associated with that show needs the oven. And then a show called "loud house" they apparently snuck a gay couple in there, I saw a clip of it someone posted and I was furious that this was being pushed onto children.
On my opinion, cartoons should stop pushing narratives, go back to what they where in the 90s/early 2000s, shit was dank nigga That or substitute the shitty cartoons of today with JOJO, DBZ, and Gundam
Justin Flores
Watch The Amazing World of Gumball. It looks like Reddit "le random XDXD" at first glance but it actuality it's pretty based.
Blake Perry
>((((nickelodeon)))) American cartoons are disgusting and ugly jewish creations, designed to fuck up the heads of your children.
Many of the characters have these nasty aesthetics to them, most of their personalities are rotten and nasty as shit. They market themselves as "humour", but are in reality nothing more than rotten role models designed to turn your children into trash.
Only Japan is doing it right.
Anthony Flores
Shit was not dank back then, SJWs have been slowly ruining cartoons since the late 80s. Gonna have to go back to 1940 if you want some real cartoons.
Jacob Garcia
You're obviously a childless adult. Those of us with children know that yes, they do watch cartoons. Paw patrol is probably the most popular show for under 5s. SpongeBob and Mickey Mouse are staples across all grade school ages. Just because they don't watch the same shows you did as a kid doesn't mean they're not watching.
Jason Foster
Kek A Toast to you my friend
Kayden Bailey
This is true. Cartoons are mostly DID reinforcing garbage. Or are pushing some kind of agenda.
Landon Edwards
Do not be fooled. It's merely another side of the same coin.
Isaac Moore
this desu senpai
Joseph Martin
Lol like those old propoganda films? >You're a sap Mr Jap Is fucking great, this too, back when Disney was unkikeable
Brayden Gray
Walt Disney, is that you?
Jack Jenkins
> intelligent dialog > johnny bravo
op is a confirmed faggot
Logan Perry
>Rocco's world >Ren and Stimpy >Rocket power Come on hans
Cameron Ortiz
and Doc (((mcstuffins))) And sheriff callie's wild west
Japan has too much variety to be the same coin. Please watch through Aishiteruze Baby, hook up a torrent or something.
I promise you it's the most children friendly stuff ever, and it's glorifying the nuclear family. Something the west has forgotten.
Colton Myers
80s cartoons are terrible, and that's the stuff I grew up on. Nothing but 30 minute commercials to sell toys. I don't even get nostalgic seeing them now because of how bad they were. Transformers and Thundercats had watchable (and short) first seasons, but that's pretty much it. Inspector Gadget, Silverhawks, He-Man - just awful.
They did some good stuff in the 90s that reminded me of the 30s-50s stuff like Animaniacs and Batman, but that quickly faded out.
Luis Brooks
>Only Japan is doing it right.
this
Josiah Butler
OP is a complete and utter fucking idiot. Kids don't watch cartoons? You might as well ask if kids still play with toys. You disgusting, obsolete fucking manchild, fucking kill yourself you stupid piece of shit.
>actually worth watching
Do you watch them now? If no, then obviously they aren't worth watching. If yes, you are pathetic and, again, should kill yourself.
Fucking fedora, you make me sick, hopefully Trump deals with the likes of you soon.
Jason Phillips
That's not what I meant user..
Samuel Thompson
You ever see Danger 5? They do a great parody of what you just said
Easton Barnes
Anime has tons of horrible role models as well as promoting incest and pedophilia and all other sorts of things american cartoons haven't touched... Yet.
Eli Morgan
Die weeaboo loser. ANIME IS PURE BETA FAG THING!
Nathaniel Reed
Those are aired in the middle of the night, on TV channels the children can't afford.
Nathan Sullivan
Calm down nigger, do you REALLY want children to even be SUCEPTABLE to shit like >Bella and the Bull dogs?
Julian Bell
>season 3 was never made
Ryan Sanchez
90's weren't much better.
>i still have a ton of logs in my backyard >i don't even have a chimney
Isaac Hill
>promoting incest and pedophilia
I love how it gets posted before my response even came through.
Levi Harris
This, the poster was a swede btw
Bentley Ramirez
They just watch YouTube videos on their parents' iPads. I've had young cousins who are 13 now who have lived on the internet since birth. They are fucking insufferable.
Ryder Turner
Jesus I hate this so much A few years ago I was hanging out with friends and we were looking for something to watch while we chilled and saw that godawful 'sitcom' bugs bunny shit. I just don't see how the mindless fun of old looney toons turned to this shit >tfw all the old recorded vhs of cartoons my grammy had are probably destroyed now
Andrew Gutierrez
>Dragonball should have ended with the cell saga
It didnt?
Kevin Martinez
Yea, but I feel like that's good, wouldn't want to spoil it. Great fucking memes tho
Julian Gomez
I think Gravity Falls is pretty comfy, dont know about the rest of them
Nolan Thomas
i don't know or care what that is because i'm not a manchild, but OP and you should neck themselves.
Andrew Morales
that's exactly what you mean desu
Austin Reed
There's Dragon ball the final chapters and Dragon ball super
Nathan Gomez
so this is autism
Jack Gray
The first season of Ren & Stimpy is still hilarious. It's insane how much they got away with for a kid's show, even back then.
David Flores
hell yeah, u took da words outta ma mouth, damn cn sucks now, bring bacxk the glorious post school 3 hour lunch andd cola and cholocate hake cartoon scooby swat kats binge, wheres dsta goddamn sunday goody goody feeling of waiting to see a full 1 hour of duck tales and scrooge mcduck, hell yeah, bump
Jeremiah Young
The '90s really was a goldmine of quality cartoons since Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon didn't have as much corporate oversight.
Shit, even Disney had series like pic related, with long story arcs and melodrama.
I'd imagine nowadays kids just watch Minecraft channels on Youtube and stuff like that.
Adam Brooks
>don't care The reason why we care is because of shit like Bella and the bulldogs, where (((they))) were blatantly pushing Race mixing and cuckholdry in a children's show, no fucking joke the guy who created that show is a porn director who specializes in cuck porn and he projected it into this show. Keeping the kids safe you fag
Ryan Jones
Autistic people are more likely to engage in adolescent things such as anime, video games and cartoons.
Austin Hall
There's a new bugs bunny show on cartoon network that isn't bad
Levi Powell
>glorious for cartoons >glorious pls die
Jack Campbell
hell yeah, u took da words outta ma mouth, damn cn sucks now, bring bacxk the glorious post school 3 hour lunch andd cola and cholocate hake cartoon scooby swat kats binge, wheres dsta goddamn sunday goody goody feeling of waiting to see a full 1 hour of duck tales and scrooge mcduck, hell yeah, bump from bumper mann
Joseph Sullivan
>It looks real Gods of Destruction aren't evil though. They're a cosmic force that's part of the cycle of death and rebirth...which is actually pretty Hindu.
Also it's a fucking pink, cartoon elephant.
Jayden Clark
A ton of the people who made those amazing things in the 90s not only don't make stuff now but they wouldn't be able to get work.
If you're not pushing an agenda you've got practically no shot anymore, plus TV censors absolutely wouldn't let the shit that used to get by in now.
Landon King
Why did cartoons go down hill? Is it because (((they))) decided to infiltrate?
There's Captain Planet which was complete and utter crypto communist shit, was that their first attempt?
Nathan Miller
I didn't read the thread I just like posting this image whenever cartoons and Sup Forums collide.
Beats me. Some factors are probably political correctness, shifting cultural trends, cartoon producers retiring or doing other things.
The amount of adult humor they snuck into these kids cartoons is incredible. They'd never get away with shit like Rocko's Modern Life nowadays.
There's still some good toons out there, though. Gravity Falls is probably the best one of the decade (IMO).
Sebastian Ramirez
tfw animu and mango are the last moral form of media left for our children
Kayden Wood
...
David White
This is the shit I'm talking about imo, thanks user
Jack Perez
Kek, Ren and Stimpy was by far the edgiest show of the time
Ryan Garcia
What if we made Bill the Butcher into a cartoon for kids and young adults? Could you imagine that! Quality entertainment and good values on nativism, and ethnic pride
Imagine the kids watching this shit every Saturday
Cooper Lewis
I like how if anything is edgy today people just say "edgy" as if they're making a statement or something. How do these people derive entertainment? Do they watch My Little Pony?
Connor James
The Loud House is actually pretty funny.
Of course Clyde McBride's dads are a bit problematic.
Bentley Barnes
they stopped paying for good cartoons to be made when the FCC shut it down. no more breakfast cereal cartoon tie ins.
>They're all in therapy (admitted mental illness) >both dad's are overprotective helicopter parents >considering the last name in McBride, we know who wears the pants in the family
Evan Ross
That actually makes sense, de-incentives it, I don't see a problem with shilling for cereal tho, rather have cereal pushed on kids than faggotry
Jace Young
Who the fuck makes this shit? Think about it. Somewhere in Japan, in some office building, a group of grown adult men decided "yeah, let's animate an early teenage girl sexually forcing herself on another early teenage girl." Jesus fuck, Japan.
Aaron Jenkins
>We must ask ourselves, do the Japanese have souls? Well, after we complete our Paradigm shift we see that the Jalanese do in fact have souls, but they operate on a hive mind...
-Sam Hyde, Historian of midevial Japan
Josiah James
That's made for midnight TV slots, because there is an adult market for it.
