A necessary evil at a time when Marxism was threatening to destroy Chile. People don't realize that Chile was on the verge of failing when he took control, the government had seized and nationalized over 600 businesses and they were running horribly and inflation was at almost 1000%. That being said Pinochet was still pretty corrupt and evil in a lot of ways.
