On a basic level English nationalism is more right wing that devolved nationalism and thus St. Georges flag is associated with EDL, Right wing, ect.
On a deeper level Britishness is pretty much just Ireland, Wales, and Scotland adopting English culture.
Irish, Welsh, and Scottish nationalism (associated with their flags) is pretty much just a revival of their own cultures in reaction to British/English culture.
English nationalism however is arguably purely reactionary as it is only due to Irish, Welsh, and Scottish nationalism that it exists as it already manifests itself in Britishness.
At least that is what anti English nationalists would say.
