According to Lenin: The proletariat isn't going to rise up so we need a vanguard Communist Party to form and spearhead the revolution.
According to Stalin: We can have socialism in one country and other countries will follow suite. (It's arguable Stalin didn't actually believe in communism).
According to Trotsky: The revolution needs to be an international global effort. (basically a retreading of what Marx said but with further context of developments made by Lenin and Stalin.)
