1, Our debt is high, and instead of renegotiating it or actually taking the small amount of money off of Apple, the government would rather hammer the Irish worker
2. Government pensions are insanely high (our Taoiseach's salary is €200'000 per year, last I checked, and former shitty politicians get massive pensions and pension rises)

The only issue with this is that they plan to expand the public sector, which is already massive (over 35% of the total percentage of GDP last I checked), and this means they will need to borrow, which will lead to more debt.
