I'm in the market for a house since I'm moving for work and yes a second income would help me claw my way into the standard of living that I would like.
But the cost of that extra $30k/yr is my wife. I would LOSE what makes her my wife and she'd become a business partner that I sleep with. NOT GOOD. And she'd be tired and comparing her income to mine and she wouldn't want to have kids until we could afford a nanny and maid and all this other stuff.
