So I was lightly raised Catholic...

So I was lightly raised Catholic, and I got a King James bible for Christmas because I asked for it and I've been unironically enjoying it. I would love to start going to church, but other than Catholic I have no idea about the other denominations. If the Pope wasn't such a cuck I wouldn't even be asking, I would just go to the church I went to growing up and not think twice

GET IN HERE FAGGOTS

There have been Popes who personally raped and murdered people and had gay orgies in the Vatican. Francis isn't great but he's probably in the top 50% of Popes.

He's surrendering to the invading Muzzies instead of calling for a new Crusade to drive the Saracens back to the deserts from which they came.

im presbyterian, it's a prostetant denomination formed in scotland after they split from the catholic church,

Congregational methodists are pretty comfy. Not uptight like Catholicism but they're still very devout in their own way.

Trump is Presbyterian. So was the most bad ass President ever Andrew Jackson. Seems like it breeds based men bud.

Explain it to me in the best way one can on chins

There is no Pope. Francis is the Antipope. Benedict is the rightful Pope, but he's been forced out of power. There is no such thing as a "Pope Emeritus" and because of this, Bergoglio's election as "Pope Francis" is not legitimate.

Just ask God to guide you and visit different ones.

Asking men to tell you where to go is a fools adventure.

uh... Fair enough? I'm honestly they didn't find a way to kill Benedict before he stepped down because it would've broken that long standing history and chain of command and all that shit.

Presbyterians are based as fuck. it formed because people in scotland were sick of the catholic church using god as an excuse to treat people like shit.

Just find a non-denominational church.

Everyone gets caught up on denominations but honestly the values, political culture, financial stewardship (is leadership robbing the congregation?), and the skill and depth the preacher goes into is FAR more important than the denomination.

Just avoid mormons, jehova's witness and other cults.

Find a SSPX partish and go to that.

apostalic succession & real presence

catholics predate the bible

>implying there aren't lefty hijacked churches these days

I just want to find a nice /comfy/ sect to call home. Why is this so hard? God damn Germans always fucking things up for everyone! kek

Being catholic doesn't mean listening do Francis.
Most of my friends dislike him, but they accept him. Besides, most priests (at least in Poland) are still pretty based, they have their own opinions regarding degeneracy and immigration.
Fuck Francis, he just sits comfortably in Vatican not exposed to the dangers of mudshits and is unaware of the real face of mass immigration.
Besides, catholic church is still pretty good compared to some protestant churches, some of them are cucked to the extreme - Openly homosexual pastors, gay marriages etc.
Just look for a church with based priests.

Specifically look for those, if you can:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priestly_Fraternity_of_St._Peter

This fraternity is super traditionalistic, trying to bring back many traditions from before schism, such as mass in Latin language. I've been to few, they are much more spiritual than normal massess.

I rather that then be a compromised piece of shit

>>implying there aren't lefty hijacked churches these days

Not at all. My friend and his girlfriend went church shopping recently. She found one which looked good online. So they showed up and walked in the door and immediately thought something was off. There were virtually no kids. And there were very few women to the ratio of men.

So thry sat down and out came the preacher and his boyfriend. They kissed and the preacher started the sermon and that's when they realized it was a gay church. The women were the wives of these openly gay men. Some had kids.

He said it was bizarre and he's never going to let his girlfriend live that one down.

Point being, it's hard to find a good church. Even good denominations can have terrible leadership. My last 2 churches had terrible financial stewardship. One was actively hiring staff as donations dropped during the height of the recession. Stupid shit like that can ruin a church. Debt can ruin them. Cronyism and corruption. All sorts of things. Or maybe the preacher is blue pilled. Or maybe they're milk toast life coach joel osteen types.

You just gotta look around in all honesty. If you want to avoid lefty churches, avoid unitarians.
I'm philosophically calvinist and that's generally too red pilled for 95% of churches out there. So you won't find a perfect match. Just make sure the preacher is a theological wonk. You want a church you can grow in, not one which teaches at a permanent 3rd grade sunday school level.

Learn theology, should help you find the true faith.
It will strengthen your faith more than any test could, if you studied the arguments for and against. Then find a church that is that denomination or close, or even go to a non-denom church.

Find a Seventh Day Adventist church, try it out, youll prob like it.

Ayy a calvinist whaddup my supposed elect?

Join a Pre-Vatican 2 Catholic Church, where the mass is in Latin.

Should I read the King James Bible or the New International Version? Which one is better?

if you know people at the church you grew up with you really should give it a chance. check to see if it's subverted or not.

Right-wing research and fact-checking in action!

The only time I ever read the bible was in basic training. It was the only book I could get, and I just wanted to read something. I started with the Old Testament. Shit was total insanity. I don't mean in like an edgy atheist kind of way, but just the stories themselves were nuts.

Short and easy guide:

Do you believe in the Trinity?
No -> Orthodox
Yes -> Catholic or Protestant

Do you believe in Purgatory?
No -> Protestant
Yes -> Catholic

Do you think everyone should be allowed to interpret the bible in their own way?
No -> Cathloc
Yes -> Protestant

Do you want a strict religion, with many important (holidays) dates?
No -> Protestant
Yes -> Catholic

King James Bible is used more commonly in Protestants churches.

I'm pretty sure the orthodox believe in the Trinity

Yes, they/we do.

I thought I was on a forum for racists and anti Semites and yet here I see a discussion concerning a universalist religion of love, tolerance and the like.

>Francis isn't great but he's probably in the top 50% of Popes.
Protestant education. He's in the lowest of the low tiers since he is a socialist.

There are other minor differences between the Orthodox Church and Roman Catholicism.

The Orthodox do not fast on Saturday (except Holy Saturday) or Sunday. Roman Catholics experience no such restriction.

Orthodox do not kneel on Sunday; Roman Catholics do. Orthodox have no "Stations of The Cross;" Roman Catholics do.

Orthodox presbyters and deacons may marry before ordination; Roman Catholic clergy are celibate.

Orthodox worship towards the East; Roman Catholics, not necessarily.

In the Orthodox Liturgy, the "bread" of the Eucharist is "leavened" (zyme); in the Roman Catholic Mass it is "unleavened" (azyme).

The Orthodox faithful receive both the "body" and "blood of Christ" in Holy Communion; Roman Catholics receive only the "bread," a wafer.

There are no orders of Orthodox monks (male and female) as there is among Roman Catholics (Jesuits, Dominicans, Benedictines, Cistericans, etc.). More recently, many Roman Catholic monks and nuns have put away their traditional habits.

Orthodox clergy wear beards; Papist clergy are generally beardless.

Guess I learned something new, was always taught that the disbelieve in the trinity was one of the major difference between catholic and orthodox religion and one of the major reasons why they split.
But catholic people are probably not the best source of information when it comes to other believes.

Until they're declared Heretical, then he'd have to switch. They're lucky this isn't the old days, or they would be rounded up and burned at the stake.

Who cares, god isn't real.

Also the Orthodox's Christmas is January 7th but they mostly celebrate on December 31st.

>grew up baptist
>22 years old and my preacher has never changed, my church started out a decent size and is now one of the largest in my southern town behind First Presbyterian and the big catholic church.
>going to schools away from home and can't stand any other churches I've been to

I'm not sure my church is actually amazing, but it suck trying to find something that lives up to it.

>believing the Pope is a cuck because liberals and secularists generously """interpret""" every single one of his statements to mean something they don't
Now listen, I don't like a lot of the decisions the Pope has made, or the general direction he's taking the Church in - and while this isn't a matter of religion, I dislike his statements concerning geopolitical matters like refugees, but other Popes have had differentiating opinions on the matter and Pope Benedict XVI wrote a book Sup Forums would probably appreciate called "Europe and the Crisis of Cultures". But for the most part, he's not that terrible at all. He is probably literally more conservative than like 75% of Sup Forums.

The major difference that caused the split was a rather niche theological issue concerning the nature of the Trinity - basically about the language of the Nicene Creed and whether or not the Holy Spirit *proceeds* from the Father, or from the Father *and the Son* (or, in Latin, "Filioque")

The West (Catholics) accepted the Filioque, the East (Orthodox) didn't. There were other factors contributing to the eventual schism but this was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back, as well as the issue of papal primacy and supremacy.

>Calvinist
Check 'em

>Roman Catholics receive only the "bread," a wafer.
We receive the blood too, depending on your bishop. When I was a boy we only got the host but the bishop retired and wa la all of a sudden we get both bread and wine.

Is there a redpill on Eastern Christian Orthodoxy?

Have a list of major denominations so you can do your own research (all the posts ITT are fucking stupid and you'll come out dumber if you don't do your own research):

Catholic: Western tradition, under the authority of the Pope of Rome

Orthodox: Eastern tradition
- Eastern Orthodox
- Oriental Orthodox

Assyrian Church of the East: Eastern tradition

Protestant: Western tradition
- Lutheran
- Reformed (Calvinist)
- Anglican
- Methodist
- Anabaptist
- Baptist
- Adventist

Restorationist: Considers that true Christianity was lost very early on and rejects nearly everything the other denominations have to say
- Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons)
- Jehova's Witnesses

Read up on the 7 first eucumenical councils to know what most Christians subscribe to

>King James
Kill yourself heretic

There are no other denominations, only heresies

Orthodox, Assyrian and Coptic( along with Roman) are all true Catholic Churches, if you dont like being submitted to the Pope, go wither orthodox or Assyrian

Generally speaking Orthodox christians tend to be more conservative and nationalistic. In orthodox countries you can love your country and heritage without being labeled a fascist or nazi. Also we didnt have inquisitions, dark ages and widespread pedophile problems so people dont feel ashamed about their faith.During the rise of catholicism Vatican was amassing wealth and gaining influence, orthodox faith was very modest in comparison. Catholic leaders through history were generally megalomaniacs that were just using religion for power, while Orthodox leaders appear to be genuine worshipers.
So while the catholic religion is not in any way worse, it was corrupted by the leaders.

Jehovas witnesses and Mormona are not Christians, since they reject the Holy Trinity

You have the KJV for a reason.

youtube.com/watch?v=kFtI_mVOXbQ

Watch this, then look for a KJV-only Church.
