Does Sup Forums support organised labour?

I used to be in support of labor unions here in the states but over the last decade I've seen how the one my father belongs to just start collecting dues and doing jack shit. They're pretty much scams now from my point of view.

Lol. Ya you aren't a slave because you pay dues to your masters.

In Germany, union jobs under tutelage of IG Metall are the highest-paying ones.

So I guess yes.

I do but, organised labour only works in particular circumstances though, and in Australia it is full of too many autists.

I am for UBI an universal healthcare and the abolition of labor unions, minimum wage laws, work safety standards, etc.

I don't care as long as it's non-government

Absolutely. Very involved in my local as the recording secretary.

Labor Unions are as American as apple pie and we all voted Trump.

Fuck off with your commie threads already

Work safety standards are propagated by the white collar left wing socialist managers who don't want to be held liable when they're too lazy to write work orders to get dangerous shit fixed.

Was in a union early on, but over time it started to show all it wanted was ever increasing dues without giving any benefits that the companies themselves don't already keep on their own books even without the union.

Really depends on where you're at and who you're working for.

>organized labor verging on socialism that collects money and does almost nothing is american

Actually unions are so anti american they were outlawd twice and we used to bring in pinkertons to shoot you faggots.

I'd like to see you try that now, nigger. You're aware all union members have turned right wing, right?

This. When I was 15, I started working at a chain grocery store. They tried talking me into a union. My Dad slapped their shit and redpilled me on the scam.

Yeah, I just don't like unions. Why work for 2 bosses? And worse, I'm supposed to PAY the second boss!

Right wing huh? Do they still pay dues to a huge organization for the "right" to work. Yea you morons need to go back to school. And left right that shit dont matter when pinkertons are shooting you.

I worked mid management in a large company for close to a year. I had to learn labour laws inside out. We worked in multiple provinces as well so i learned the slight differences. Unions today are the biggest scam there is. What unions stood for in the early days when people were dying on the job regularly, they made sense. We have mandatory breaks now, it is a law. We have mandatory overtime now, it is a law. We have mandatory holiday pay, it is a law.

>You're aware all union members have turned right wing
Maybe in your imagination country of Narnia, but not mine.

United Steel Workers was pushing their members to vote for Hillary this election. Doesn't sound very right wing to me.

In theory, yes. In practice, less so.

Independent arbitration is often necessary.

The thing that gives me the shits is butthurt aussies who think our unions and employment relations work the same way as the US. Australia's industrial relations system is unique, and also extremely structured. Unions do have a place, by law, in this system, and they serve an important role.

In the US they're far less formal, and far more retarded.

Those laws can be rescinded, and without the promise of a fuckhuge battle with every union mobilising all its workers you think the bosses wouldn't try?

Unions protect the concessions that workers have already won.

Unions can be extremely retarded, but the argument that "we have laws so we don't need unions" is even more so. We only have the laws because of the unions.

I would support them if it was the original labour unions who bashed so many Chinese and threatened so many elites that they had to instate the White Australia Policy.

The fact that they all now take money from Soros and love flooding our country with brown shit skins (they literally supported flooding Australia with fly in short term visas for FAST FOOD AND RETAIL WORKERS) they can get fucked. They're just basically now middle class toffs too stupid to get real jobs who now go to work for the government and various union bodies and don't represent workers even in the slightest, just fringe leftist causes like Safe Schools and Islam.

Maybe it's similar to Australia - The workers who formed our Labor Party were Right Wingers, the left wing of the party was held by the lawyers and wealthy social liberals.

Over time the Right Wing and the workers were purged in favor of more lawyers and more money.

No you have laws because of voters. Unions help organize voting blocks but in a more perfect world idiot wageslaves wouldn't need to pay an organization to tell them how to vote.

>Those laws can be rescinded
Not in a free country, mate.

Absolutely not. I've worked for two labor unions (Service Employees International and the Transport Workers Union). I have also been a member of two unions (Transport Workers Union and Communication Workers of America).

I can tell you without a doubt that all unions do are:

1) Steal money from poor people.

2) Undermine legislation that would help all working people, and

3) If it is a public sector labor union, either a) endanger the public welfare or b) cripple a public agency's ability to improve its services.

no because they are overwhelmingly commie dreck

yes. yea they're fucked up too but it's better than not organizing to fight for a more dignified life

I believe that if your demands get so high that the company believes it's cheaper to hire overseas, you've failed as a union.

Organizing is one thing. Comimg together ton fight a common enemy is the basic story of half the great novels.

But paying mafia greaseballs every month just so you can work? That is literally russia teir.

They changes the "closed shop" or "union shop" laws in Michigan.

I immediately stopped payroll dept from deducting union dues.

$20 a week is $1040 a year. Fuck the union.

fuck no. unions have ruined finland.

tens of thousands died for the labour movements throughout history and until globalism came along organised labour was the only reason we didnt work in sweatshops, none of the places these jobs go to have had a history of labour movements, you dont need the government or expensive unions, but if people arent willing to stand together and demand decent wages and benefits then your fucked, theres no such thing as some market that will pay you fairly when it can afford it

unless your willing to live like a chinese child it will always be cheaper to hire overseas

>for UBI and universal healthcare
>for abolition of labor unions, minimum wage laws, work safety standards
You appear confused, you oppose drinking contaminated water while advocating consuming raw sewerage

hell, i'll support anything that is not communism or socialism
