Fair enough. Show me an anti-matter reactor and a replicator and we'll talk socialism.

>implying a fucking technology such as the replicator doesn't dismissed 19th century economic theories

If aliens land on the White house and give us tech that makes all work dynamics outdated, sure id try socialism

NATIONAL SOCIALISM

anarcho capitalism doesn't wo-

>tfw 24th century technology displaces the control system of wagecuuckery and we travel the stars with perfectly realistic sex androids

>implying star trek isn't a fascist society

>implying star trek isn't a fascist society

but look, the space jews are not a happy people and some of them even want to join starfleet

OP's confusing socialism and communism.
Good job, OP. Eat shit and die.

>socialism works when you have a magical machine that can create anything out of nothing

How are the living conditions for the 20 billion plebs on the planet?

>Only exists in fiction
>Only exists under the premise of unlimited resources (replicators)

Kek, sounds about right.

>science fiction
let me just highlight the second part for you
>FICTION

It's science fiction, faggot. That's the only reason why socialism works in it. FICTION!

you mean the ones who don't ever see themselves being successful?
Well colour me surprised...

Star Trek level technology is essentially a genre appropriate version of magic. It's all made from handwavium and pixie dust. So of course you can have a impossible fantasy political system that works. The same way you can have a Thaumocracy where everything works out well because it's all controlled by WIIIIIZARDS.

>some

Only Nog and that's because his father was a race traitor

>implying 20 billion

Dude, they have an entire galaxy to colonize

This is the right's version of "real communism has never been tried"

even with all thier tech and stuff, people are driven by wanting to be some one and do something. If we just got all that tech today id bet billions would just die of shit like getting too fat because they'd just sit at home eating and being a lazy fuck because they can.

Patrick Stewart learned everything he knows about politics from Star Trek.

Its a fictional TV show with aliens and shit you dumb nigger

There's one thing that's plausible though, which is the federation's command structure, which is like a patriarchal military organization.

>Uses a "Federation Credit"
>Private corporation built the Enterprise D
>Entire episodes dedicated to plots that revolve around the fact that money isn't used but is still needed

Yeah, sure is a socialist/communist utopia OP

>socializm works
>star trek
>FICTION
yeah, 1 post, b8.

OP doesn't suck di-

It's pretty much impossible to get super fat in Star Trek land. No matter what food you decide to get replicated, it's all got the same nutritional value. You could sit around all day and eat chocolate brownies covered in fudge, on chocolate ice cream, and you would get the same nutrients as a boiled chicken salad.

> what were the eugenics wars

I would cut off muh dick for a night with all the Star Trek sluts

Doesn't Star Trek take place in a universe where there's constant war and where there are races who are biologically predisposed to greed, betrayal and warfare?

Federation isn't even close to "socialist". Socialism repartitions wealth from those who earn it to those who "need" it. In the Federation, personal property laws are respected and there is no need to tax citizens.

what are you going to do without a dick, play MtG ?

my point is people in star trek have a drive people irl dont have. Most irl wouldnt want to find work or help advance society, the vast majority would just sit at home and do fuck all.

>THIS FICTIONAL MOVIE PROVES MY POINT

Post-scarcity isn't socialism.

literally who

The Federation is the end result of capitalism. Matter replicators means there is zero need for money and people only do things for the social gain eg becoming captain or head engineer.

Actually The Federation is the most Fascist Government in Trek. The only Communist part is the whole no money thing but they go back on that right quick on DS9, only using that as a plot device when Jake and Nog want to buy some thing but Jake has no money cuz Human.

But Obrien Drinks at quarks daily and obviously pays him in latinum.

> just sit at home and do fuck all.

I'm pretty sure that's what most humans do in Star Trek.
Starfleet employs the only productive people on Earth.

You forget that Kahn BTFOd earths population during the eugenics war, erasing all untermench DNA from the gene pool. So yeah, it could work maybe after eternal holocaust.

But wouldn't that ...you know...be... FASCISM!?!?!?!?

>it's all got the same nutritional value. You could sit around all day and eat chocolate brownies covered in fudge, on chocolate ice cream, and you would get the same nutrients as a boiled chicken salad.
If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight regardless of what food constitutes those calories.

>tfw too intelligent for capitalism

>post-scarcity

>leftist cites fiction to justify childish ideology
Expected nothing less desu
Also slide thread kys

It's more like science fantasy.

Gene Roddenberry had a lot of weird ideas. When asked about how would one survive the transporter beam (since it literally destroys and reassembles), his answer was that in the 24th century people have outgrown their attachment to life or some shit, iirc.

I can't remember if it's fully explained somewhere, but I think the Feds had some sort of reimbursement deal with Quark. I don't t hink they charged him rent or anything.

In everything after Enterprise, Earth is a peaceful utopian planet. Considering current year happenings and the trajectory of mankind as we know it, this seems extremely unattainable. However if you piece together the bits of history we know that are canon in the star trek universe, you can see how Earth became such a paradise.

Dr Noonien Soong (data's creator) shows up first canonically in the series Enterprise. At this point he's perfecting human eugenics, with Khan Noonien Singh being a later result. We all know Khan, Kirk's ultra intelligent, egotistical, nemesis. What we need to look into is Kahn's past.
Khan and his followers (known as augments) were the product of Dr Soong's eugenics experiments. They developed into perfect humans in every way, and soon began to resent lesser humanity. This was the catalyst for the Eugenics War. During the war, Kahn and the Augments nearly erased humanity. Their regime started at what they believed to be the bottom of the gene pool, and eradicated mankind of everything that was lesser than them. The logic behind this was to eventually face a population worthy of of opposition, which they did. They were outsmarted and captured, then exiled from Earth on the botany bay for eternity.
I believe the Eugenics War is the sole reason star trek's utopian Earth can exist. This planet cannot sustain it's current population, and that number is growing due to the uneducated, undisciplined, scum of humanity that plagues it. Annihilation is necessary for growth. We must remove this cancerous tumor swiftly and with precision. Through war, world peace can be achieved.

We will get there some day, until then here's some fashy TNG remix

Star Trek and socialism is gay look at stars wars instead:
Democracy is corrupt and inneffective (sound familiar)
Emperor seizes power and things are better than ever before some terrorists armed by the commerce guilds (jews) blow up the death star

...

Both gay. Look at Aliens. Corporations and Colonial Marines. And you better get use to it ,Sweetheart!

the only hope for humanity is more tech development. it's the only thing that can change anything

Star Trek is based af if you know what the premises are.

Socialism works.
On a small scale, with voluntary membership, a common goal and effective methods of keeping discipline.
See families, monasteries, kibbuzim,...

On a national scale the common goal becomes meaningless and the method of dicipline becomes the gulag.

Socialism's appeal to the feeble-minded is the result of human hardwiring for life in small, self-sufficient groups through countless years of evolution.

>tfw The Federation aligns more closely to Nat Soc and some strands of Fascism

The whole government military complex is proof enough. The Ds9 uniforms even look SS-ish

Sure OP...

Nog knows best

Quick rundown on the difference between science fiction and science fantasy.

Star Trek is a world in which socialism works. That's fiction.

Star Wars is a world in which the nazis won. That's fantasy.

I like it.

halfway through tng, look forward to ds9
