They do. It's just rigged agains them. Every time they score hight, the law is modified. When it was proportional election, and FN won dozens of seats, they pass a law for the elections to be 2 round, majority election. Few years later, FN was in a lot of 2nd round, so the law was again changed, the limit to gain access to 2nd round went up from 10% to 14% (not real numbers, just to give an idea, i don't remember). Next election FN had considerable losses. Now FN is so high, they're literally present everywhere in the 2nd round, even managed to won some, against coalitions composed of all the other parties (some candidats retracts themselves...). And then again, you have some talk nowadays about a new law. Some people even want us to go back to a porportional election, because FN is so high that, with 2 round majority election, if they win, they will have a de facto majority at the assembly.
