>happiest citizens Formerly homogenous Nordic nations of superior racial stock? Indeed, before the emergence of welfare-state policies beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, Sweden was among the most prosperous and fast-growing economies on the planet. Between 1870 and 1936, when Sweden was characterized by relatively free markets, the nation enjoyed the highest rate of growth in the industrialized world. Innovation and entrepreneurship flourished, making Sweden one of the richest countries on Earth. Then came the radical Social Democratic period characterized by an ever-larger and more expensive government. Between 1975(a year when Sweden dropped it's racial eugenics) and the mid-1990s - marked by the radical, if short-lived, experiment in “Third Way” socialism - Sweden dropped from being the fourth richest nation in the world down to the 13th richest.
Fortunately for Swedes, as the giant welfare state's harmful effects became increasingly obvious, the Swedish traitorous political class began to reverse course. From lowering taxes and government spending to deregulating and privatizing broad swaths of the economy, policymakers realized that the nation's continued success depended on freer markets not total government. Still, the damage was severe. The rate of business formation during the “third-way era” was “dreadful.” In 2004, none of the 100 largest firms ranked by employment were founded within Sweden after 1970. Between 1950 and 2000, although the Swedish population grew from 7 million to almost 9 million thanks to the influx of largely inferior peoples, net job creation in the private sector was close to zero.
Today, Denmark, despite higher taxes, has more economic freedom than the United States. Sweden and Finland are both catching up, too. And interestingly, despite sozi constant pronouncements about Scandinavia having “more income and wealth equality,” Sweden still has a great deal more “wealth inequality” today than the United States.

That's the whole point! We are creative species, we can exist and flourish without the state rifle. It's rather simple. Models and possibilities are numerous: Private central bank Publicly owned central bank State dependant central bank Co-owned central bank National banks model Competitive currencies
Ever expanding state is not a solution to people's everyday problems and woes
Justin Gutierrez
So you want everyone to pay for the things you think should be shared as a burden of responsibility? Good, we're getting somewhere.
Ok how do we decide? Put it to a vote? All you would do in your system, is through the natural process of free-markets unregulated, de facto monopolies would emerge that control vast swathes of your life. Without being a voting-rights shareholder you have no say. You can't not decide to drink water, or educate your children, or not go for a shit. Essentially you would then have to purchase all the valued aspects of a civilized society: Medicine, Education, Sanitation, Roads, Bridges, Railways etc from one company. They would jack up the price; You will be a slave to that corporation. You can't choose any other competitor as there is no regulation against mafia monopolies.
You choose certain essential things that we all share and pay tax (At whatever rate) to pay for things we all value that are usually natural monopolies, like say Railways or Water or roads or bridges.
Jordan Kelly
Yet another pleb thread.

Then how do you deal with regulations of goods and services that prevent unfair monopolisation of finite resources or shared resources with value?
Refer to my other reply but you seriously wouldn't leave Justice to the private sector? Or medicine regulation? Water? Food? Electrical goods?

Because Pro-Market fundamentalism without constraining it, is the same extreme of Communism without constraint. I look at the evidence of the Boom-And bust cycle. The way in which Corporations have more say in how my life is run because they have "more money." Both lead to stupid tyranny. When we take your view and my view and find a compromise it is cool. In fact much of the backlash against Tony Blair came from the left; He swallowed Thatchers diseased milk udders and accepted that markets must be free. It led to the financial disaster and PFI programs, and a massive bailout to private banks. We as taxpayers had to pay for the gambling losses of the banks. They kept all the profit and dumped the losses onto us. The principle behind the ideology that governed their greed, freedom and corruption was closer to what you guys propose.
>Fuck everyone else, let me make my own destiny, my money, fuck you and you and you. >Oh shit, I've lost everything; Now help us as we can blackmail you or the system will collapse.

>Just the basic necessity to protect the nature and race. Night watchman state. The immigration service, the emergency-rescue departments, prisons, the executive, the judiciary, military, police. That's enough.
Fair enough; But that's why we have elections; I feel we can more efficiently deliver medicine and education and transport by pooling resources together and owning the infrastructure as a population. You could outsource to private firms the running of the services but we've seen in the UK how terrible there services deteriorate. >In the US, Justice has become warped as Private prisons get paid per inmate; More arrests = more money so the Capitalist mindset for those private orisons is to make more money by pressuring the Regulators to make worse laws to lock up more people. US taxpayers foot the bill.
You would also have to be vigilant as many Corporations literally regulate and write the laws that govern them by pouring money into political parties and even get their employees to have secondments in say Tax-collecting headquarters.

Well yeah, if youve never failed at anything in your life (cause modern education abhors a loser and doles out "participation" awards) then the prospect of finally failing becomes monumental, instead of you know, a natural part of life.
But people wont want to hear that "having a safe space" is killing us as a species. Start letting kids fail, its not the end of the fucking world, the bulk of what i know comes from personal failure and i can shrug shit off and move on.

>Sweden still has a great deal more “wealth inequality” today than the United States. Both before and after tax transfers, Sweden is behind the USA in GINI.
Also, Sweden was social-democratic from the end of WW2, with the SocDem period declining in the 80s and 90s. Social Democracy cannot survive in a world of free capital flows, so it's not surprising that performance after 1971 (collapse of Breton Woods) was dreadful, since first they had to contend with global stagnation, then with neoliberalism.
The "Third way" (i.e. Blairism) is cancer, but Swedish social democracy was a relative success before the rest of the world fucked it up.

Night watchman state sells the principle downriver If you're going to be an idealist, at least go full ancap and say private companies would provide it and the poor would just die if they couldn't pay. The minute you concede an army, you concede the principle of state intervention for the common good.

Agreed.
This asset bubble was designed by people who are not noble in their belief in freedom like you are. They corrupted the political process by buying Politicians who did not regulate the very financial institutions doing business with them..
Read through edition after edition of Private Eye magazine in the UK and other good investigative Journalism and the very institutions designed to stop irresponsible fiscal policy, were the very people being given brown envelopes and perks by the companies benefiting from cheap credit.
Now we come to housing; The market in the Uk was molested by this cheap credit and raised prices. This encouraged dirty speculation. Many people are suffering.

"Without the government, charity doesn't exist, because people do not have any form of morality without the state."
An ancap society would be the ultimate society, formed after generations of racially protected, virtuous citizens raised on basic, objective principles. You do not get a society like this by allowing the poor to die in the streets.

>Are you trying to argue that you had a truly free market during his reign?
I'm saying that if he did have an even free-er market then it would be even worse than what I referred to in my previous post.
I think if leftists get accused of being too idealistic in not acknowledging other aspects of human nature, Free-Market right wingers also exhibit a cultists fascination in pure free-market dogma. That if left alone, human traits can be made sense of in the best way by untouched markets. Again, this doesn't take into account people being dickheads.
State imo is about stopping dickheads shitting on everyone else. We need good, transparent, fair and breathable regulation that we all decide on via our elected officials and institutions.
