This 1,300 sq.ft shitheap unironically costs $1,000,000

>this 1,300 sq.ft shitheap unironically costs $1,000,000

Why is this allowed?

What happened to the dream of owning a house and starting a family?

I can put whatever the fuck price I want in my house. Is anyone going to buy though?

I can buy a shit shack in the middle of a ghetto and list it for $50,000,000. "WOOOW HOUSES SO EXPENSIVE IN THE US SENPAI"

People decided that homes were investments, not places to live. The last two generations just kind of ran with the idea.

Wher is this? South beach Miami?

> (OP)
>People decided that homes were investments, not places to live. The last two generations just kind of ran with the idea.
Well said

>People decided that homes were investments, not places to live. The last two generations just kind of ran with the idea.

They did because building didn't happen to scale with urbanization. And so everyone who had a home found themselves better off each year, instead of the value depreciating as you would expect from wear and tear.

This financial gain then became their equity and pushed the growth rates along with their inflating numbers.

This is the origin and reason for the housing bubble situation.

The problem is happening now; what happens to the ever rising imagined value of property if people can't afford to buy into the lowest levels anymore, and choose to live at home? The bottom of the market isn't getting new blood and it's shaking the entire bubble.

If the realization pops that housing just isn't worth that much or if tech makes non-city life and distance working normal, you would see an upending of the way the economy works. Then again automation will do that anyway. The next 40 years will be either the launch of a better world, or the destruction of the existing one.

Vancouver or Toronto, the real estate prices there are insane

>have home
>it was worth $275k 5 years ago
>It was worth $325k last year
>It's worth $575k this year

I'm pretty sure the only reason is because the gubmint wants more property tax.

I live in Vancouver and you're lying

We have a TV show dedicated to this subject.

Have you just crawled out from under a rock though? These prices are pretty standard now in places like Canada and London.
Here in Auckland, houses were around 500kNZD on average 10 years ago.
Median income was around 40kNZD per annum.
Now houses are around 1Million NZD, median income is around 50kNZD per annum.

Shit's fucked.

>$3 mil

i started to read this but suddenly i paused... i looked up at the beige corner and saw what could only be described as a flag with a red and white color combination. But my intrigue died as soon as i saw what else it featured... A FUCKING LEAF

Where's the house located, leaf?
I am from Oahu, Hawaii. On Oahu, the median house price is somewhere around 600k, but you will not touch anywhere near the beach for less than 1.8 million. As a matter of fact, a friend was renting a house similar to that piece of shit in your photo, and the owner sold it for close to 2 million.

Anyhow, I moved to the Seattle area in August due to economical reasons, and while I make close to 100k a year, I cannot even look at a house, because all the Microsoft, Google and Amazon faggots drove the prices up across the board- with speculation leaning toward what those same faggots did the the San Fran area.

My fiance and I pull in a little over 200k a year and we cannot even touch a house in Seattle due to the shilling over prices.

hongcouver I'd bet

>hat happened to the dream of owning a house and starting a family?
We sold that dream to the Chinese so that we could afford to pay for more immigrants and abortions in third world countries. Did you miss the memo or something?

>rich move in
>rich buy up property

That's free market capitalism kids, deal with it or go wait in the bread line.

How are people graduating in this decade supposed to ever afford a house?

They're not.

It's rapidly coming to the point where it's cheaper to just build it yourself.

>work from home
>live away from any big city
>chill as hard as humanly possible

City life is a meme boys, small towns or the sticks is where it's at.

The mortgage guy at the bank literally said "you don't buy for yourself, you buy for the market". Kind of sad when you think about it

It's anything but free market retard. Artificial interest rates combined with GVT insured mortgages creates inflated housing. Learn some economics moron.

>What happened to the dream of owning a house and starting a family?

Chinks stole it from us.

>tfw when you realize what you are actually buying.

>toffoli

There's your answer: Italians

B-but muh ebil socialism...

Enjoy your degenerate cuckpitalism fucking niggers.

I live in Vancouver and you're stupid.

...

Emerald City, Baby!

Thanks Bezos..

Fuck boomers.
Stab feminists.
Behead Soros.
Long live Trump.

Based Adolf Hitler. I bet he would gas half of the current American government on the spot, maybe more than half.

I live in Vancouver. Why are you shilling? I was genuinely surprised that house was "only" 1 million. I'd have guessed about 1.4 mil.

The free market isn't the problem nor the interest rates. It's the excessive continued influx of immigrants which brings down the supply of housing and creates the inflated costs we see today.

18,600,000 vacant homes in the United States at last count.

we are moving back to ye olden days

the landed gentry will allow us to rent their properties

you can't afford a mortgage and they pay in full

you spend your housing money on rent, which goes to their pockets, which they use to buy more houses

an economy of scale

housing is a debt to you, an asset to them

It's not the shitheap, it's the clay that it's situated on

With your limited real estate I feel you are closer to this than most Americans.

Dude

Rich Chinese are using our housing market as their personal bank, what the fuck did you expect...

All I'm praying for now is that within 5-10 years the housing bubble pops.

>free market
>foreigners buy up all your land and resources
Thank you based libertarian fuckwits.

Easy. Don't live there.

It's OP's type of mentality that causes the left to thrive. "Why is this allowed?" "Do something about it"

>there are no lines in capitalism

In Thailand only Thai people can buy land. So no chinks or brits with lots of money can drive up the prices of thai land. A foreigner can buy a house and rent land, but this is risky investment for obvious reasons.

If western countries had this law then land and housing prices will decrease big time and cater for the broader home market. It would reduce foreign invasion big time to just people with select interest of the country.

Funny, my house is 4x as large and >4x cheaper. I guess you shouldn't live in a blue shithole OP.

>chinks

I work in the real estate industry and I can tell you this is pretty much the case despite all the shilling. They need a place to park money and send their kids to go to school so they out-bid all the regular joes.

I personally know a rich woman from Singapore who is a hard worker mind you come and buy a house CASH in a suburb of Dallas. 500k at least.

Isnt better at this point to just buy empty land a little further from the city and build your own house?

If your comfortable with almost 2 hour commutes ya goof.

The fuck kind of city takes two hours to get through?

DFW

Move to my city and buy a bigger house for $10,000

Why would anyone want to live in a city with houses that cost that month anyway.

Seattle is nearby, join us so your posts become relevant

You don't live in Vancouver or Toronto or Calgary. It is really that simple. Canada is HUGE.

You want to own a house? Go somewhere where the Chinese haven't started flooding in.

Break in and squat.
When Uncle Chang shows up, break his arms.

Is there an easy way to make a city denser and more walkable like European cities?

No you retard, look up what gentrification is. And businesses are decided interest rates, that's literally the free market.

you don't
fuck off retard

As far as Canada's concerned, the answer to your question is two things:

1. globalism/Agenda 21/2030 shit
2.

Land monopoly drives poverty and leads to insane shit like this

A man named Henry George came up with a solution more than 100 years ago

no its not communism

Meanwhile in America

>5 beds 4 baths 5,300 sqft
>$485,000

You're assuming this price is meant for buyers who intend to live in it and not for developers looking to turn it into a small set of apartments.
