Whats the deal with this IQ test? is it legit? It would seem legit if you are comparing the results of a group of people who take it together. Explain to me something Sup Forums. i made my parents take this test after i took it, mind you they are immigrants from a foreign country who came here many years ago with nothing but have amounted an incredible amount of wealth because of their very lucrative positions. However, they scored terribly on this test (100-109) which is almost impossible to believe that a person of their position would have an average iq. (one is a tax lawyer, the other is a cardiovascular surgeon, both bring in close to a million a year before taxes with their private practices) I scored a 135 on this test. The test isn't culturally biased or language biased. If intelligence is inherited how is it possible that i have a 135 result from this test while my parents have a 100-109 result from this test? Is the test shit? Perhaps it's for more younger generations? They are terrible with computers but that doesnt seem like a reasonable explanation. perhaps they didnt give much effort? (i kind of just threw it in their face and barely persuaded them that this is worth 25 minutes of their time)
If the conclusion is that my parents have average iq's then its impossible for intelligence to be inherited, and its completely based off your experiences in life. But i don't believe in that. I believe intelligence is inherited, and that experiences make up only 10-15 iq points max on your experiences. Someone born to parents with sub 80 iq's will never be a genius no matter what their nourishment is.
Anyway, lets try to answer this question once and for all. To what extent is intelligence inherited, and to what extent is it based off of experiences?
Have you considered the possibility that intelligence may have a lack of influence as one of its influences? A sort of random variable in the process of its formation? Intelligence as a mutation?

Also to answer your question. They might have been born with an IQ similar to yours and just didn't have it fostered sufficiently. While there is nothing you can do to improve a low score, that does not mean you can't fuck up a high score and make it lower through neglect.

I have taken this same IQ test and I got a 125. That is complete bullshit. I say, subtract around 15-20 points and that should be your actual IQ score. Maybe even subtract more than that. I experimented the same test and purposefully got every question wrong and got a 92. That's below average, but close. Furthermore, I know my actual IQ is shit because my reading score is that of a 10th grader. Literally. I have shit reading skills.

I've noticed that I score higher on IQ tests while I'm studying, like right after an exam, so while IQ itself may be a genetic constant, I'm very skeptic about tests yielding accurate results. Furthermore, IQ in itself is only useful in how it reflects your real-life performance. I'd respect an accomplished businessman, for example, over a basement autist who can do integration really fast.

well, i took this test when i woke up this morning. Im in my low 20's running my own company grossing close to 120k a year before expenses and taxes which boils down to about 90k clean. I feel more accomplished than people my age by far, but as far as accomplished? absolutely not, 90k a year is nothing to brag about when there are millionaires. However i do have a very reasonable plan as to how to get there, its much more reasonable than when i decided to take a leap of faith and drop out of college to start my business kek

my iq was tested as 150 last time i took a test when i was 18 years old and im back in college but i struggle with focus and attention

you can study math and reading comprehension as well as spacial reasoning
spacial reasoning is one thing that artists study quite often and if you do that you will score better on that part of their tests
mental horsepower is a subjective judgement and there are different kinds such as social vs mathmatics vs artistic creativity
and there is some correlation between iq and success but there is even more correlation between parent's success and children's success
and success is also subjective and goes beyond just earning potential
