START PRAISING KEK

Give me books to read. Just finished Crime & Punishment.

I'm already doing that. Best decision I've ever made

How do i stop being so fucking lazy my apt is disgusting my hygenie is disgusting i am underemployed and have no real relationships

real and complex analysis - walter rudin

Take baby steps and section out what you need to improve on and do it slowly. Don't ever procrastinate because you will only make the feeling of not wanting to do whatever you're doing worse.

You know those rare times when you think to yourself "hmm I could clean up or just sit here on the computer" and then you always go with sit here on the computer?

Choose the other one.

The Harry Potter Series.

Those Books Changed My Life.

I'm Totally A Ravenclaw.

Self improvement is masturbation.

Stop masturbating.

>naked man
Best start. That's all you need to know.

The Bhagavad Gita

I stopped smoking the herbal jew and a whole lot improved for me. Still struggling with the effects of 8 years smoking daily, but a lot of the fog is gone.
Put a time when you will clean up for 45min and rest for 10. Repeat. The tidyness will improve your mind.

...

find something to put on your peecee while you're doing work. working out and cleaning isn't nearly as annoying when you've got a tv show or podcast playing

Just finished Gotta Have Wa. Fun and Inspiring read. Highly recommended. Pretty light, too.

Go outside. Enjoy nature. Get exercise. Learn useful skills like gardening, hunting, preserving food, cooking.

Any tips on quitting pot?

Don't

Any tips on quitting Sup Forums?

More Goebbles superman myth. U retarded fools.

Don't listen to this degenerate.
Read books. Keep your mind off of it. Use Sup Forums more if that keeps you occupied. Make sure you are keeping yourself occupied.

this is also very good advice. literally everybody regardless of living situation can go for hikes and learn to cook and preserve food. if you don't have anywhere you can plant stuff, just find some random spot with soil and plant literally anything. it'll still help you acquire some basic skills.

...

Use the money that you're not smoking pot to invest into a more productive hobby. Once you stop smoking pot it's pretty easy to refrain from. Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Are you under 21? Quitting alcohol is much harder to quit.

I've been on a journey of self-improvement steadily for the past year. I can give specific advice to anyone who wants, not because I'm some expert on the human condition but because I've read a ton on self-improvement and tried dozens of different things to see what works.

Are you using pot as a reward? Then find a different reward -- playing video games, watching a movie, having some tea. You don't need to change rewards immediately, instead every day smoke half as much as you did before and spend the rest of time doing something else.

If it's a self-soothing habit that you do daily or weekly, maybe try picking up smoking cigarettes. Honestly, in terms of your mind, cigarettes are better than marijuana, and unless you smoke more than half a pack a day it's not going to adversely impact your life while you are in the transition of quitting (see the 98% reduction in tobacco-related mortality for those who quit before the age of 40, or the lack of correlation between mortality and tobacco use in Japan)

Well if we're talking about self improvement. I'm on my last semester of college before I get my degree. Afterwards I'll be moving back in with my dad in California and will be pursuing personal goals with the intent of making as much money as I can within the next few years.
Without school classrooms taking up a large portion of my time. I've decided to focus in self development, in the form of education reading, topics including self help, National-Socialism and others. I'm going to make a serious attempt at stopping masturbating and actually working out to sculpt my figure. I don't have to lose any weight, I just need to gain it in muscles. I'll start with a simple routine of just situps, pullups, crunches, pushups, and jogging around the neighborhood.
I've also decided to work on my social skills so I can interact with normies better and build my self confidence. Mostly go to bars and social events more and just talk to people and women. Don't even care about who they are or if I'll ever see them again, just build my personality and work toward getting a woman in bed with me.
My father also wants me to go golfing with him, so I'll be doing that as well and pick it up as a sport. Who knows, it may do wonders for me.
With no school holding me up, I'll also be focusing time on my hobbies and developing my own skills and talents. I've gained an interest in PCB boards, soldering, and computer boards. Maybe pick that up as a hobby and start modding old consoles for cash.

The 5 things I want to focus on for myself are:
Happiness
Success
Personal Development
Love
and Family

All in all, once summer rolls around, I'll be done with school for the foreseeable future and I want to focus on my own self development and become a better person. No better time to do that then in Trump's America.

Oh yeah, and Trump will be/is my muse and role model of what a young man like me should strive towards in life.

Fast Daily 16 hours +. We never ate as often as now.
Don't Masturbate, as you end up losing your testosterone. No Fap is legit. Try 5 days, then blow your load. It's a very noticeable difference.
Eat easily soluble food. Fish, veggies. even salsa and chips is easily soluble compared to breaded food.
Drink water.
Exercise throughout the day, not just once.
Make your body more applicable, instead of just strong.
Focus on your muscles. Use deep thinking when you workout.
Stop depleting your dopamine (smoking, marijuana) dopamine determines your bodies willingness to move about.
Realize you're gonna have to take a part out of your life to achieve your next step. (stop looking and waiting for pussy.)

Apply these as you wish. Your main goal is just getting to your next stage in evolution.
Frogs start as tadpoles.

Anyone here in a trade?

I want to get out of retail and become an electricial apprentice, but I don't live anywhere near a union.
Do I just start calling/going to businesses and applying?
I'm not afraid of physical labor, or being the gopher for a few years. If I can just get my foot in the door, I'll bust my ass to become an electrician.

Pick a small task and just start doing it. You will overcome the inertia in just a few minutes although it won't seem like it when you start.

Sometimes when you do this you complete the task and that's the end of it. Sometimes it dovetails into something bigger - something you can look at the next day and think, yeah, that's better.

Point is, don't start with something you dread, and don't start with something that's large or open-ended.

you have no energy because you're in a hopeless situation. just start changing it

Just quit weed... paraphernalia is just packed away not thrown out though.

Part of the reason I quit was because my room was messy to the point I'd leave food there until it got moldy - why yes I am mentally ill. I sorted myself out, my room is clean, I'm clean, everything is hygenic. Without the weed smell, and a clean room, I'm able to keep the door to my room open. Rather than the blackout blinds being over my window, my curtains and blinds are open.

As part of my mission to clean my room, I've thrown out or repaired vertually everything in my room or have an immediate plan to address said issues. Just gave some valuables to goodwill, including some old games systems I at one point said I would keep forever.

With a clean room, clean body, and no drugs, I feel prepared for the days challenges. I feel like I'm turning a corner and may be able to escape the unemployment gulag.

I also improved my diet. Less constipated. Gonna go run 30 minutes. Hoping fresher air in my room, better diet, more sunlight will help with sleep. Drug withdrawal is going to lead to insomnia the next little while regardless though. Also doing a bit of casual work.

If there's an overarching goal I've been striving towards, it's being the kind of person I could respect myself. Not doing it for any other person. I am tired of there being a split between who I am privately and publicly, with me not really liking either image of myself.

I want to create a single, unified image of myself, one I can be proud of, one I won't let others demean, because I believe in it.

Also became agnostic and found faith which I'm using to push through anxiety and doubt.

Worry about hygiene first, relationships second. Try to make yourself into the kind of person you would like to hang out with. Then, one day, spontaneously, you'll probably ask yourself why you're isolating yourself when you're perfectly well put together. Putting relationships first hygiene second is retarded.

DO THE WIM HOF METHOD

you lied to me Sup Forums

you said quitting weed would make me more productive

well it's been 3 months weed free and i am literally hikkikomori level unproductive and i developed agoraphobia now

How to overcame existential depression?

Try no fap next. then Wim Hof. If those don't work you're fucked.

As for what I've done specifically, I started telling myself it was OK to procrastinate so long as I cleaned.

Since I was procrastinating regardless, all I ended up with was putting stuff off like usual but with a spic and span room. Which improved my mood enough that I stopped procrastinating as much.

Sometimes you can turn a weakness into a strength, especially if you don't obsess about doing things perfectly.

I was full hikki mode before I started smoking weed, I started fairly late in life, so I had no delusions about this point. Pot DOES sap motivation on average though, it just helps you forget all the times you were unmotivated and did nothing.

I'm not qutting because I thought I'd become super productive, I'm quitting because I'm spend two and a half grand a year and my life is as stagnant as it was when I wasn't smoking anything, but I'm probably making myself more susceptable to mental illness, and I'm ashamed of simply how bad the shit smells.

It makes me feel like an unclean person, it makes me poorer, I want to live a life in the long term where smoking weed erryday isn't possible, so I'm kicking it away as a crutch. That being said, I do believe weed has a lot to do with my newfound spirituality.

I haven't smoked weed in months. I'm still a piece of shit.

from weed smoker, I have become regular hard drugs user(shrooms, x, mdma, coke, salvia)

I have amazing carrier so far, for 3 years I ended in the biggest company in the world in my sector

never stopped reading books started getting some science stuff since I gave up on Uni

never trained anything, lifestyle was keeping me fit after I became a keyboard warrior I gained 10 kilos (20 pounds)

I fixed the relationship with my parents, even now I am taking care of them

Thanks to my shifts I have no time to go out on a date, so I am going to prostitutes

I fell in love for the perfect human being I ever communicated with... she has a boyfriend tho and my principles are stopping me from taking any actions(sympathy for a stranger, I would not like it if someone hits up on my girl...) even to the point where I focus to not give my self up with body language, cuz you know women... thanks to that girl I am like the Lich in Prismo's room a machine without purpose, permanent standstill nothing replaced her so far

how fucked I am ?

I've found splitting things up in steps helps. Instead of having one big step of cleaning your apt, as an example, start with sections: Rooms, areas in certain rooms like your desk, your bed area, and go from there.

Ultimate self improvement is to quit the web. Every other self improvement is reliant on it.

Speaking from experience, are you?

Destroying his door frame, if he weighs more than a school girl.

my biggest problem is not getting the motivation to do things but figuring out what it legitimately worthwhile.

People will give you widely varying answers as to what self improvement entails. Especially because the things that seem to make me legitimately happy aren't what the average conventional person would strive for.

All the typical self help things just leave me feeling empty. My point is, to what end do you self improve?

To prove, you self improve in order to demonstrate your limits.

Wednesday is when I help my nan with her garden, so I use her wifi to get updates, emails, browse for a bit, etc.

Okay I'm going to self-improve, you've convinced me Sup Forums

If this is true, you're deliberately denying yourself the greatest and only free source of information. People have said in this thread to improve by reading, that's important. I bet you have a lovely library somewhere but it's inferior to the internet.

in fact I've noticed that when I'm consciously making a concerted effort to do "self improvement" things I actually become more depressed.

I keep pretty fit, read books and eat well but I'm usually pretty content to just stay in my room playing video games and occasionally working on my music.

maybe my natural state is just what society perceives as a loser

Just go and do it. What is it? Look, I and everyone else don't give a fuck. Just do it. Do it now. Go.

clean water, clean food

>you're deliberately denying yourself the greatest and only free source of information.

That's really not as true as you want it to be. Outside of Gutenberg there's really not much "free information" on the web these days, nor is it particularly trustworthy. To stay "up to date" and "informed" in things while being truthful is a full time job, and even if you do know about all the minutiƦ of every event, all you've really done is waste time on things you could never change.

> People have said in this thread to improve by reading, that's important.

I would never say that it wasn't, but you don't need the internet for that. Think about it this way: of all the information you've read, how much of it would you go through the effort and cost to print out and file away?

>I bet you have a lovely library somewhere but it's inferior to the internet.

I have my books, you do not have the information on the web. The web is by nature and transient thing, not even half as strong in its foundations as something like Usenet.
