I have been visiting alot of Sup Forums in the last days and my god, you guys know little about Dutch politics and even how the system works. MSM is nothing in comparison with how you guys can circlejerk the wrong facts and cry about it.
Lets get two things straight. There were two parties who rules before this election, VVD and PvdA, who got to hold more that 50% of all seats together. VVD is a moderate rightwing party and PvdA is a moderate leftist powerhold. This was necessary because your so called godtier leader Wilders fucked the first formation up and swift action was required, you know financial crisis and all. Netherlands is, aside from the immigration problem, a pretty fine country to live in 4 years after the formation.
Now elections. VVD (right) lost some votes, but is still the biggest, meanwhile PvdA (left) got its ass handed to it, losing 75% of their previous seats. Meanwhile, big wins for centre/right and centre parties with CDA (christian centreright) and D66 (centreright in economics, centreleft in social policies) being big winners. The biggest winner on the left was GL with 14 votes (out of 150, irrelevant much?).
Now, we have a situation which is as followed. VVD/CDA/D66 can get 71/150 seats together, add in CU and you have more than 75 seats. Which means Holland goes from a right, backed by a leftist party to a right backed by a bunch of centrist parties (which with the exception of D66 were all pretty straightforward about wanting less immigrants).
The biggest loser of yesterday was the left. Stop forcing your American politics way of thinking on the Dutch politics. This is pretty much as immigrant hating as a progressive country as the Netherlands is going to get. Your memeking Wilders would never have been prime minister, because he would have needed 50+ votes for that.
