I've been smoking weed on a more or less daily basis for about 15 years and while I've managed a relatively successful life career wise, I do absolutely nothing productive with my free time. I lost my GF of 3 years about 9 months ago and this is the longest I've been single since I started dating. I never leave the house except to work, and all I ever think about is going home and getting stoned. When I think about all the time, money and opportunity wasted just to "have fun" for a couple hours by vegging out in front of my PC and hitting a bong, I'm disgusted with myself. Weed might not be physically addicting, but you're lying to yourself if you think it's totally non-addictive. Today I will shatter all my smoking equipment and delete my dealer's phone number. going to a job every day and being "successful" is a motivation different from picking up hobbies and trying to master something during your free time. weed works well for breaking alcohol addiction, something that is far more degenerate and addictive. Just because you cant regulate it doesnt mean others cant. Smoke on weekends share weed. Drugs help our minds see contrast with our level self, a tool that should be used as such.

Find a hobby (I bought an old truck to restore) that you enjoy to take up your time. You're used to being high all the time so it'll suck for a week or two, but you'll get over it. Don't make up for the weed with another drug because you'll just be running in circles.
