It's really not that hard. He talks in stories a lot, which makes it much easier to understand, in my opinion.
Although here's a tip - his older stuff is easier to understand than his newer stuff
I feel like these days he's trying to warn everybody about everything, but all at the same time. So he goes off on a few tangents, frantically trying to give everybody the whole picture about what he's learned. And then he says "no, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND" when people laugh at something he's said, because he wants them to know how damn serious it is.
If you look at his old lectures, and his old TVO appearances, they're much more measured. His 90s lectures are on YouTube and they're comfy (but I've never watched one all the way through)
Mainly I've watched his TVO appearances, and snippets of some talks too
I don't watch entire lectures, they're too long for me
Which video is this in? Also this is interesting because I've not heard him address the alt-right before
Surely he must know that many of his followers are alt-righters? Maybe he just doesn't know.
Also here's a thought - I think a lot of the Sup Forums crowd, who normally are liberally racist, offensive, and unabashedly anti-semitic, give Peterson a lot of respect (you can tell from these threads alone).
So I think a lot of the same people who would go on Varg's videos and post "(((THEY))) ARE DESTROYING US! FUCK JEWS AND FUCK NIGGERS!" - they go on Peterson's videos and leave polite, non-offensive comments.
I think this is because, really, all of us are looking for a father figure. We're all looking for somebody who will help us out - who will give us a POSITIVE role of masculinity in the modern world, but who at the same time understands our struggle. Peterson has done that. And I think that's why he resonates so much here.
