Current State of ISIS

This is approximately how much land ISIS still controls. They have been operating for 3-4 years now and still have not capitulated. How is this so when so many countries and groups are fighting against them?

They were being propped up by the Obama administration

Most of that is dessert. And it's like when the FSA or ISIS loses a town they're driven back tons of miles to the next town because you can't really defend desert.

The map updates and huge chunks of land change sides because there's literally nothing there aside from a town and a few villages.

>How is this so when so many countries and groups are fighting against them?

because the only groups fighting against them on the ground are the Iraqi military, the Syrian army, and the SDF. all 3 of which are relatively incompetent, under-trained, and underfunded, meaning that any progress against ISIS is going to be relatively slow. at least the Iraqis are finally gonna take back Mosul within 2 weeks to a month.

Oh gee, NATO creates ISIS in iraq and is moving it into Syria.

Whouda thunk.

How the fuck do they control that small part of the coast on the west?

it's a mountainous region

the white part is desert

>How is this so when so many countries and groups are fighting against them?
the ones fighting them are iraqi shias, kurds and from time to time syrians/russians (when they're not fightting the fsa, their main target)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the good boys from isis should have a contingency plan and try to move their fighters and money to africa, libya. more room to maneuver there.

bump for Isis future scenarios

ISIS nuke

I love dessert

I recall this picture being in the news back before the mosul offensive. Was it ever confirmed? Shorty after mosul started was when US started fucking around dealing with Raqqa

they moved fighters from mosul in the palmyra offensive.
this is a fact.

ISIS will be replaced by fullblown meme war 3 in the coming 6 months.

A large part is remote desert and wilderness. You should look up the videos on isis.liveuamap.com and pictures and stories.

This is like the worst redneck country. People are dumb, religious fanatics and that black and white (white means uninhabited...) areas are where fanatics can easily thrive.

>a contingency plan
I think that's Boko Haram.

those niggers are too stupid to achieve anything on their own.
they can't manage a region under occupation.
isis could use them as foot soldiers if isis moves its base to north africa.

Ajutati-ma baietii

That's what I'm saying. If ISIS is defeated in the Middle East the nest battlefronts will be in Afrika and around Philippines. Muslim terrorist organizations in those areas already pledged their allegiance to ISIS when they initially declared the Caliphate.

check your privilege cunt

It is not expedient to the West and the Jews for ISIS to simply be knocked out, which could easily be accomplished if any Western country gave a fuck

To the West, the Jews, Saudis, ISIS is still a useful player, as is Al-Qaeda and related groups.

I'm assuming those corridors are around roads, it seems like it would be relatively easy to cut them off by attacking across the desert and setting up reinforced areas

Time to cut off those supply lines then.

Remember how long it took for coalition of the willing to eliminate insurgents in Iraq? IS is MUCH larger than the insurgency we saw back then.

Besides, western countries aren't really committing the size amount of ground forces as they did during the insurgency, so we have relatively unskilled soldiers (excluding Iraqi SOF and Tiger forces in Syria) that are fighting the ground war.

It's only recently that the Iraqi army have developed the skills they require to deal with insurgent tactics but even then they are struggling.

Because ISIS is fighting a total war and everyone else is fighting a limited war against ISIS

Tip of the hat, bro.

On top of that, ISIS fighters aren't skilled either so it's like watching retards fight. There is no cohesion or strategy, just skirmishes that end with no real change.

Obama did everything in his power to fucking destroy the Middle East. GWB was an idiot for going into Iraq with no plan for post-war rebuilding and sure Obama inherited it. However, Obama made an awful situation worse. I hope that Nobel Peace prize on his mantle makes him hear the screams of people's lives he has destroyed.

I like Obama. He has a nice smile.

Rebels were the best path for the west to place a puppet government
Failing that, ISIS at least still allows them to hold influence

>that safe spot for ISIS next to jewistan
>those moderate jihadist layer around it hiding in Jewistans strike zone from Syrian forces

Top kek can it get any more obvious?

ISIS are currently getting rekt hard.

As in there is a good chance all their territory will be gone within 12 months.

They had an easy time in Syria as they took over the remote desert parts while Assad was desling with the FSA and they did well in Iraq due to the large angry sunni population.

They have now lost their major holdings in iraq and their capital of Raqqa is within reach of the kurds.

Tbh they have been dying a slow death since they lost all their boarder territory with turkey which meant much harder to get fresh troops in

they don't need outside fighters.
they breed them inside the territories they control.
they have 7 year olds doing suicide attacks.

7 year olds don't win wars. I agree with the Aussie. The problem will be moping them up completely. We really need to wipe out all their support bases and target their civilian supporters. No ISIL supporter should be allowed to live.

Mosul falls. Back out of Iraq. No longer called ISIS.

I agree with user who said they have to move to north africa to maintain any semblance of a caliphate.

That's nignog obongo army bruh

asymmetrical warfare

not Obama.

it was the Clinton/CIA deep state elements in the administration.

Obama's rule was "don't do stupid shit", but he was too weak to prevent it.

Brah, No way
Obama is the deep dish state

there was a liberal article summarizing his policies I read. I have unfortunately lost it.

in it Obama was asked about this stuff and his answer was "I have children" or sth, meaning = I can't do stuff that gets me or my kids assassinated like JFK.

Nah check it out dude Obongo was groomed like from an early start
The bro doesn't even know who his parents are
That's because man it was the deep dish state
They raised him with like the CIA and stuff
Cuz you know his mom like worked for him
Pretty outrageous man but it's true

All of that land is shit

There's nothing there

Obama and Osama are never is the same room together.

Coincidence?

look, it's like with JFK. He couldn't stop the Bay of Pigs invasion, because the CIA was already too strong back then. All he could do is to allow them to do the mission, but later deny air support.

maybe Obama is groomed, but he seemed to be more of a silent sabotagist that would allow the CIA to do the operations they wanted, but did not give them more resources to succeed.

their thinking about Syria was: allow ISIS and others to prosper to wreck the Assad-Iran (and Russia) coalition.

it's Afghanistan 2.0.

Yeah farout man that makes a lot of sense to me
And Trump man he's got to be realizing he can't play by his own rules anymore
The dudes got family too and they're just backing our guy in a corner
He's probably gonna go down like a Kennedy bro I don't see him swimming along in that same old pool Obongo bro was peeing in first

>using hoholmaps

deep state/CIA is putting pressure on Trump to leave them alone and let them do what they want.

they will probably negotiate some seize-fire agreement. After that the Russia-story-leaking will stop.

the left-media is not a part of this agreement, but with no leaks they won't have the ammo to shoot.

Arabs are also not very good at military combat.

Their victorious battles since the initial expansion have mostly relied on ambushes, stealth and counter-fugue.

Modern arab culture places a high premium on being important and the holder of knowledge, power, and access to both.

This greatly hampers the effectiveness of their military, as soldiers, generals, specialists all warily guard their own positions and refuse to work well with each other.

Saudi Arabia spends more on military than half the globe combined yet loses to goat fuckers in Yemen right in their backyard.

In short; Arabs are useless. ISIS only does well cause a lot of their early fighting was sneaky and fuelled by fundementalist muhhmud religious zeal.

Who's side are the Kurds on? Assad Gov't or Rebels? Or independent

Islam fights Isis the same way we fight Sup Forums.
Isis is satire.

Iraqi sf is worse then the worst pog in a western army

>mfw people think ISIS losing territory in Syria and Iraq means they are being defeated

Because Obama gave them billions of dollars and weapons under the guise of arming "mild rebels"

bump for truth

Ignorant amerishart. There's oil and territory through which pipelines could be built.
